The ringing of bells toll through the Castle Courtyard, streams of beings from all walks of life in the city finding their way in to observe the activity as a few Solacious Soldiers whom pulled the short straw, were standing a mixed duty of Usher and guard, hollaring in cones made to allow them to speak above the crowd. "Friends and family of the groom to the left! Friends and family of the bride to the right! Newcomers to the rear seating please!" The streams of people giving way to three large rectangles of chairs, the solacious family occupying the left side mainly, when what looks like a variety of farmers, tramps, and other low born folk have filled only half of the right... And given the variety of their species, they were most likely just friends of Kalt. The rear filled with visiting individuals was slowly crowding with those that just happened to be visiting the city this day, all striving for seats that were quickly filling up.
Fenris wanders along the well stocked tables of food and drink, glad to see that all of his arrangements had gone according to plan. And of course he snuck a few samples as he went. Wedding planning was hungry work! The tiger looks pretty good in his new outfit, a fine linen shirt, open down to the third button, showing a puff of his fluffy fur along with a fine black vest that is pulled gently over the slight roundness of his strong belly. He makes his way over to Kalt's side of the room, figuring that it would be easier to get a good seat than on Angus's side. He does his best to get as close to the front as he could.
Standing up at the podium, chatting with the Church representitive is Angus, the groom trying to keep himself occupied to hide that he was just a little nervous with the situation. "Heh, so how is the family?" He asks. His entire look had changed for just this day, wanting to wanting to look the best as his clothing was...actually well kept, clean, the ceremonial buttons on his uniform polished to a shine as he stands at attention.
Being both family and noble, Cassidy had certain expectations to meet. She'd been there early, having settled on Angus's side of the aisle with Natska. Despite being friends with both of them... It was prudent that she was seated with the rest of the Solacious-kin. And she's dressed the part! A smile on her face to complement the fanciful, floor-length dress she wore. "It wasn't even that long ago we had ours," she murmurs to the jaguar at her side.
Jera made her way into the noble's section. Bright red. She'd had to put aside her concerns of being found out in order to attend a very, very important wedding. She's wearing a trailing dress in snow white, with matching gloves and a tiara sitting atop her folded ears.
Cara makes her way over to one of the seats at very back, her tail swishing through the air as walks. There was information about a bonding happening in town and strangely, it allowed anyone to attend it. Considering that this is the tigress's first time attending an event like this, it might be good for meeting new people. She may not know the bride or groom but they probably won't mind her appearance. The tigress mutters under her breath, "I better stay quiet for this event so that I don't annoy anyone by mistake." She sits in the chair and looks around the area for anything of interest. She notices a large tiger sitting at the front row and smiles, knowing that she might be able to talk to someone at the reception.
"I know, love," Natska murmurs, giving Cassidy's arm a squeeze; the jaguar is wearing a fine, dark blue dress of her own today, along with plenty of jewelry, her hair carefully braided and be-ribboned. "Not too long ago at all, dearest, but it has been a very happy life."
Being neither family, nor technically friend seeing as he had only encountered the couple once. And rather briefly at that. Takes a sest in the back row. The coywolf is dressed up in his best fine suit for the ocassion.
Fenris waves happily at his friends assembled amidst all the nobility on the other side of the room. He plops himself down in a seat and smiles around at Kalt's family and friends. "I hear the king himself will be here!" he says happily, "And the food is going to be great!" He gives another wave toward the band tuning up off to one side of the dais. A good crew. He had picked them out himself.
"Filling in sir, those without seats are opting to stand." The portly mole infront of Angus replies, before fixing his own hat. A rather high up member of the church it seemed, he waved to a small boy whom stepped forward to hand him a thick book.
Not too long into folks arriving, a almost litteral parade of hippos begin to enter and weave their way through the gathering to the seats. Most it seem take up the plethora of empty chairs on Kalt's side, a few though staying with the solacious side, and fewer still merely standing in the back. As if they were mere heralds of the arrival, a few solacious workers bring out a single ornate chair, filled with red and gold, it is soon placed off to the side of the ceremony, though still allowing it's soon to be occupant a seat in the front row, and a view where they can watch the ceremony, and attendees... Without further delay then, comes the none other than King Good, entering with a band of guards around him, amidst his usual attendants, the royal hippo finds his chair and gives a slight nod out to the group, before leaning back as his ear is taken by one of his attendants.
Cassidy adjusts her long, arm-covering gloves as she settles back in her chair, folding one leg over the other under her long dress. "And here I thought they wanted a quiet bonding. This is even more fanfare than we tried to get," she says with a soft chuckle.
Rainer might not be recognizable even to longtime friends, such a radical transformation has he undergone, though there probably aren't many grey wolves around who have any business being up at the front, as he is. Dressed to the nines in occasion-appropriate attire, high-collared dark grey suit with buttoned white undershirt, matching, belted pants and ankle boots, his sword sheathed in a ceremonial holster that leaves the blade exposed. His normally unkempt mane has been groomed into something approaching a hairstyle, slicked down at the top, drawn into a ponytail at the back and held in place by a silver band. Most impressive of all is the fact that he's not at any point fussing with the outfit, or his hair. He's mostly just keeping an eye on Angus, probably ready to tackle the todd to the ground if he tries to run for it, sparing occasional glances over his shoulder out and over the crowd and spouting a quip or two. "Haha, I can't wait to see Kaltessa. It's going to be so weird seeing her in a dress for a change." "Who even are most of these people?" "I've never once seen half of these guys seated with your family." Hey, isn't that the king himself?" "Straighten your shoulders! You don't want your king to see one of his soldiers slouching, do ya?"
Fenris grins at Rainer. "Not here as a soldier, Rainer," he says, "Kalt and Angus both said that I could come as a regular friend!" His grin broadens as the Hippos file in. "I've never seen so many royals at once!" he says, "You think we can meet the king after the ceremony?"
Angus gives the portly mole a nod in comfirmation, adjusting the buttons his his cuffs as he looks around. When his gaze finds the good king he freezes for a moment, soon standing at full attention with his shoulders squared a bit.....Kalts reaction to this is going to be an intresting one at least as he stops to give a wave to those he knew.
Cara stares at the parade of hippos for a moment and upon noticing the Good King, smiles. Honestly, who would have expected him to show up here though considering that he might be a bit busy ruling Sweetwater, but it is nice to know that he can come out in public without anyone making a fuss. She turns her attention back to the tiger up front and notices him talking to someone, but can't exactly hear what they are saying though. She shrugs, and continues to pay attention to everything else.
Natska giggles quietly, then nods her head as she watches the area fill up. Her ear twitches, and then she nods her head. "Yes. I am happy for them!" She starts to say something else, then smiles and gives her head a little shake before she leans in to give Cass a small kiss on the cheek.
Rainer doesn't say anything, but he has -the biggest- grin on his face and keeps making eyeballs from Fenris towards Angus, trying to get the tiger to notice the petrified stance their mutual friend has taken on spotting the arrival of the reigning monarch. "Easy, buddy!" He finally swings around, interjecting himself between the man of the hour and the audience, making some supurfluous adjustments to Angus' cravat as an excuse for stepping up there. "You're going to pop all the buttons off your coat. Breathe, and remember the only thing you're here to do today is tell the world how much you love Kalt, eh? Nothing to be nervous about." He concludes with a couple reassuring pats and a squeeze to Angus' shoulders and promptly gets out of the way again.
Hannibal jusr leans back in his seat, and gets comfortable. As he watches the parade of hippos make their entrance. Chuckling softly to himself when he notices angus tense up at the sight of the good king. "well well well.".This should be a touch amusing.
Fenris is very aware of Rainer's little hinting and chuckles to himself as the wolf hops up to give their mutual friend a pep talk. Kalt was definitely going to hate all of this, but he was sure she would manage. "Rainer!" he calls, "Leave the man be! I was looking forward to watching those buttons pop!"
Soon enough, the band begins to play a low melody, those guests whom haven't found their spot are ushered to the sides by the guards as the crowds begin to hush for the most part. One of the Goods giving a slight chuckle from what he could hear of Rainer's antics, while a sparrow in the back near Cara holds out a small bag of peanuts to her, offering to share. Hannibal is treated in the back as well to the crowding of a few females around him, all of whom are trying to avoid standing by sitting on each other's laps. Jera's look is given a once over by an older solacious man with a greying beard, before they scootch just a bit away from their own wife and nearer to him.
As the music finally begins to pick into it's main tune, some attention begins to turn to the back. Kalt stands there with a large male bear, wearing what one assumed was the best he could acquire for the moment... Which isn't terrible, a black silk vest over a nice clean brown shirt, and a black pair of pants. Upon the left of his chest is the insignia of the Iron Reach from the mountain passes... Though, overshadowing him was Kalt herself, clad in a light blue dress with a abundance of frills along it's side, her prosthetic arm covered fully in a cloth sleeve so as to not draw attention to it, and a thin viel over her face. The Vixen fidgeting slightly as she takes the bears arm, and begins to walk down the aisle of chairs to the tune of the music... Focusing heavily on each step, and keeping her gaze as forward as possible, though she continuously glances around, smiling at what friends she can see... And not trying to see the king, lest she freeze up.
"I thought they were going to have a small wedding. Looks like they pulled a fast one while I was away." Jera gave a polite curtsey to the approaching fox and a warm smile, before she continues to watch the procession.
Cassidy didn't miss the look one of her older relatives gives Jera and leans back in her seat for a moment, clearing her throat. "Uncle! It's a lovely day for a bonding, isn't it?" Just enough to remind him that his actions didn't go unnoticed. "And you're looking nice," she says to Jera, "Though the tiara might be a biiit much," she says with a chuckle before giving Natska a little hug about the shoulders.
Fenris stands and turns to watch Kalt's progress. He did not recognize the bear, but he had never met Kalt's family. He assumed that she was part of a clan of foxes, but there was no reason that she could not have a bear for a father. After all, the Aunties and Uncles had been all sorts and still been as much his family as if they had been blood. The tiger shakes his head. Not a good place or time for reminscences like that. He just gives Kalt the biggest grin he can and sends good thoughts her way as he takes note of all the guests.
Cara notices the sparrow's offer and nods. She gladly accepts a few of the peanuts and sets her attention upon the bride walking down the aisle. She begins eating a few of the peanuts quietly as she thinks. That is a rather oddly looking vixen. However, the tigress can't really argue that she looks rather lovely in that blue dress. Most of the time, weddings involve white dresses but it's nice to see a change in tradition though.
"Hi, Jera," Natska greets warmly; she leans against Cassidy as she hugs her wife back, smiling and watching the procession and the gathering of people. "Mmmhm. I like that, Jera, very nice." She looks around, giving Fenris a small nod and a smile as she recognizes him as well, then returns her attention to Kalt and Angus.
Angus gives Rainer a soft glare as he adjusts his cravat for him, but he does slowly nod as his shoulders slump just a bit. "Thanks." He murmurs to the wolf before his attention turns to Kalt. Her dress was grand, his smile growing ever more as he focuses on her walking towards him.
Rokarion sighed as he moved towards the courtyard, fashionably late! Well more like got told about the event at the last possible moment. The youthful plant being was once again 'requested' to visit a social event that involved a lot of Sweetwater's nobility, familial obligations were a pain sometimes. Unlike his usual modest clothing, Rokarion was dressed to impress this time: A white, frilly shirt covering his torso and adorned with a white carvat around the neck, conveniently hiding his soul gem. A light grey waistcoat was worn over the shirt and that was topped with a dark green frock coat, with grey trousers acting as his southern necessities. All made from the finest textiles of Cliffside of course. On his coat, the plant being clearly displayed his Clever clan badge as well as another badge with a rather interesting heraldry, for those who saw it before it is clearly the same as Ridgewell!
Rokarion entered the courtyard and moved towards the rear as he was told by the guards, however giving a glance towards the Sweetwater royals, out of curiosity if nothing else. Another less noticeable thing about the plant is the absences of his usual nonchalant and cold expression.
Rainer scoots to his seat soon as the music picks up, though he doesn't long remain in it, standing to get a look at Kalt as she makes her way up the aisle. In an unusual display of forethought, he looks about at the other attendees and ascertains that none of them are going to engage in cheering, clapping, or whistling at the bride, and thus abstains from such activities as well, looking on in respectful silence.
Cara shifts her gaze over to the newest arrival and raises an eyebrow upon noticing that it is a plant. She continues to look him over with interest. The plant has to ne a male because that outfit is normally worn by men or at least it looks like it would be worn by men. Honestly, it's hard for the tigress to tell since she hasn't really seen a male or female plant before.
The uncle seems to huff slightly at Cassidy's interjection, giving a posh wave as he leans back in his chair and looks about for a moment, happy his wife didn't catch it. A small commotion is to be heard as what looked like a large male cat had attempted to stand and cheer, before a rather apathetic looking artic fox had clasped a hand over their mouth and dragged them down to their chair.
The dark gray Fennec was late. Not because he chose to be, but because he got lost. He wasn't important by any definition of the word, and had only met the bride once, but he figured he should show some support for his acquaintance and maybe make connections at the same time. Mulitasking, magic! He slips into the back row, stopping upon find a good vantage point to watch the ceremony. He was also slightly better dressed than usual, in a suit of sorts, of light brown coloration. He opts to stand, hands clasped behind his back.
Kalt takes a deep breath as the Vixen is led up finally to the scene, her tail stilled below her dress and hidden as she takes her spot across from Angus. The large bear giving a bow then, before making his way off to the side. The host looking between the two before he gently clears his throat. "Ladies and Gentlemen, we are gathered here today, before common man and king, to witness the bonding of Angus Solacious, with Kalt Tiefkuhl. Before we begin, let any whom object to this union rise, and let their voice be heard, or shall they ever hold their peace."
Rokarion gets waved over by a small collie woman dressed up in finery whom was standing near the back, while Flinn is given some room so as to have a good spot for himself.
Fenris snorts when he recognizes Sven Snowmark already getting ready to party, but Kalt and the bear that tradition dictates must be her father hold his attention. "Makes me think of Emily and Uncle Vanya," he murmers fondly, then glances around at the traditional invitation for objections. "Where is Llewellyn?" he wonders aloud, hoping the little hot head was not about to cause trouble.
Cassidy settles down to watch quietly, once the bear starts to give the ceremony proper. She bites her lip, watching on in anticipation as her tail flicks behind her, unable to sit as still as the fennec it's attached to.
Rokarion quickly moves to one of the seats around the frontal side of the backseats, trying to cause minimum fuzz seeing as how the ceremony has started. A task made slightly harder as the flower being's inner blossom was in full bloom right now, making his usual jasmine scent even stronger, as well as looking all but inconspicuous. Rokarion offers the collie female a wave in return, gesturing for her to take a seat if she so wanted.
Hannibal turns his gaze away from angus, and the others up front. And starts to look over those sitting in the backrows along with him. His curiouse gaze ends up focused on the tigress.
Natska keeps most of her attention on the ceremony, although she does keep an eye on Cassidy; she gives her wife's arm another small squeeze and settles in to her seat, happily watching.
"That's the giraffe fella, yae high?" Rainer murmurs aside to Fenris, unable to peel his eyes away from the trussed-up vixen for more than a couple seconds at a time. He holds his hand only a short distance above where it could go no lower without his bending over. "Coulda sworn I saw 'im sneakin' around outside the manor walls before we set out." After several beats of silence, he whispers, "What'd they say her whole name was? Knife-skull? I'da called her Fist-skull, myself."
Cara notices the rather odd species of canine staring at her from the corner of her eye. He looks like a hybrid species. The canine could prove to be very interesting at the reception, however it is important to keep attention on the couple at the altar. After all, it wouldn't do for her to move over to the canine and risk interrupting the wedding. She notices the groom and stares at him for a moment. He does look rather nice in that outfit and he does seem a bit fun, however this is his wedding and even though she doesn't know him, she should still be happy for his good fortune.
Flinn keeps his eyes on Kalt and the groom, Angus Solacious, if he isn't mistaken, but his ears flick at the occasional passing conversation. Cassidy garners a quick glance, though, fennecs with that fur coloration aren't the most common, after all, but his attention quickly returns to the alter, tail swaying with anticipation.
"I've donned the tiara before." Jera folds her arms across her chest, whispering now that the serious parts were beginning.
Hannibal smiles when he catches site of the tigress looking at him via the corner of her eye. And after observing her for a momment. Longer he turns his gaze back to the front. To once again watch the ceremony. With a naturally amused smile seeing as from his one time meeting Kalt before the wedding he had not imagined her as one to wear a dress
They seems to wait a long moment, a few individuals glancing around in the crowd as one or two of the older solacious' let out a cough... Usually ending with their wives throwing an elbow into them. The Vixen herself fidgeting as Kalt toys with the glove over her arm, taking a deep breath before the ceremony continues.
"Very well then. With myself, the Good King, and all those present as a witness, we continue forth. For this day, two shall be joined as one forever more. In tradition passed down from ages past, we hold these two before us, and observe their devotion. We hold them to the words they speak, and the promises they pledge. Never shall any allow them to forget what was pledged here this day, and damned in the one that acts in treachery or jealousy to try and harm this pledge. So then, in this moment, we as a heart united, stare out in joyus wonder, as two halves complete themselves into a whole. As I was informed before this ceremony, the couple have their own vows they wish to exchange with each other." The portly priest taking a step back as he closes the book in his hands, and holds it to his chest, looking expectantly between the two individuals. Kalt herself a tad bit frozen for a moment before the bear reaches out to elbow her slightly in the back as she clears her throat.
"On this day I give you my heart, My promise, That I will walk with you, Hand in hand. Wherever our journey leads us, we shall go Living, learning, loving...Together, Forever."
Fenris is relieved as the ceremony continues without interruption. "Guess the little guy decided not to come," he says, smirking a bit as the officiator embellishes on the ceremony. "This is a lot like my own bonding," he murmers, "Only a lot bigger and fancier and completely different. But it makes me think of it anyway."
