"You speak of keeping your blood pure, but I have seen its color when the light shines upon it, and I assure you it is no shade of crimson."<br> <br>Selena Shrugs, turning back to the tiger. "No noble house in Sweetwater or Firmament was given to a species. It was given to a being for their ideals and service to the greater public." She replies simply. "Purity of 'blood' is pointless if the spirit which the nobility was given to isn't upheld." She notes, looking over to Angus with a raised eyebrow for a moment. "I think I'll not push my point further. You should already know what you should be doing to hold claim to a name. Angus has earned his, kid or not. Ask around town about him; I can guarantee you he's more well known and deserving than most 'nobles' here. Even she has more claim to the the word if you remember what it means and not who represent it."<br> <br>Cassidy heaves a heavy sigh and clicks her tongue. "Ah well. I am sure I will get a chance to light the snooty one aflame later, yes. Pure blood boils the best, you know." She doesn't go for the tactful wordplay of the other two, jumping straight to an aggressive snub before turning to walk off, trying to not even give him the dignity of getting a word back at her, effectively brushing his existence under the rug. She knew all too well that such things tended to... Ignite nobles of that stature. Maybe it'd work this time, too.<br> <br>Amaterasu on the other hand wasn't so easy to control her temper, the jab cutting a little too deep for her particular resistances. "I am the type-" she speaks through clenched teeth, the lights around her flickering when she got close to her, te result of her echo "That would prefer to have matters of such a sensitive nature held outside of the public eye. A show of force need not apply to situations that should be handled with care." It was at this point did she bite her tongue, and turn on her heel. The angry woman stomping her way back towards a stall, swaying a bit dangerously as a wave of nausea hit her, forcing her to grip a pole to steady herself, and prevent her from vomiting.<br> <br>Wulf smiles at Angus' words but turns to look at the Collie once again. "Thank you Lord Angus, but you need not come to my defence..." She continues after locking her eyes on the Collie "My 'lord' I will readily admit that they would not admit me as one of their own because I am not. I am Wulf Tiernan, a name of no consequence to you I'm sure. But I am not going to hide that I am the daughter of a Farmer. Now... onto the matter of blood. Blood does not make the being and does not hold the same strength as the soul. The soul is what you should be looking to, not some notion of pure blood... and when you go to meet the creators it is the soul that will be judged, not blood."<br> <br>The Caribou sighs and takes a few steps back, returning to his parents as it seems the group was intent on continuing. The Collie narrowing his eyes at Angus before letting out an amused snort. "So you got a pricy one, good for you... Still doesn't stop your family from demanding you put your spawns in a fox---" His gaze flicking to Selena as he laughs loudly then before looking back to Angus. "heh 'kid or not' is that it? Well, I won't touch -that- with a ten foot pole, you lot have strange tastes around here... But you say you saw the color of my families blood when the light shines on it -boy-? I've seen the colors it seeps from plenty of your own who run head long into spikes shouting at the top of their lungs for honor on a battlefield. Say my blood isn't crimson all you want, but at the least we don't feed farmlands with it!" The crowd frowning and hushing at that, the Collie aparantly willing enough to turn to such memories that are still heavy amongst many. Plenty even begining to disperse though the Tiger and two Dacha wolves remain to motion Selena over. |

+ | "A true point lady. You are certain you are not from the north? Perhaps some Dacha runs through your veins hm? Hard to find many who see beyond blood these days... I am Ligo of the Conglamerate, and this is Muri and Suri of the Dacha." The three dipping their head some before offering her a smile.

+ | The Collie waves a hand dismissivly as Ama lashes out at him, rolling his eyes gently. "Enough from you child, if you wish to spend time on their sides, perhaps you've been in this land too long for your own good. You and the one whom thinks idle threats will make for a good resolution. It's almost as though you've honestly not gone through the academy!" The Collie commenting on the ways the wirefurs send their children to the cut throat academy, which was part of the reason for their nature, before he turns to Wulf with a grin. "A religious one are you? Hmph... Tell you what, as you speak with respect, so will I retract my calling of you an escort. My words should only be meant for the man whom gives you his arm, not a innocent girl such as yourself."<br> <br>At that retort, the fox no long holds his composure, Angus' smile turning into an outright scowl. "That may be, but an honorable death on the battlefield is better then rotting away in a dungeon. Spending my life in a cage because I murdered my own people for coin. You've seen my blood yes, but at least I know it doesn't run cold when my gaze turns to my own nations people. And you are smart not to touch a child, far smarter then Eldric ever was." He snaps back the venom in his words far greater then even a dose of heart fire as the grip on Wulf's forearm grows tight.<br> <br>Selena puts a hand on Angus's spare shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Don't mind them, Angus." She says firmly, before looking back to the collie. "Your nearsightedness makes me wonder if you ever set foot outside of a manor for the last decade. Stop being childish before you make more of a fool of yourself." The wolfess chastises, before shaking her head to the other three. "With all due respect, I wouldn't know." She replies, sidestepping the collie to offer a hand in proper greeting to the Conglomerate and Dacha members. "I'm Selena." She replies, a short pause as she considers something or another. "Selena Hearthkeep."<br> <br>Cassidy pauses in her tracks and stops her chin. "Are they really idle threats if I considered actually doing it? I mean, it's not as if I don't know better. I do! Oh trust me I do. I'm just really good at tuning out that little thing called 'conscience.'" She snickers softly and pats her companion's hand before stepping back and turning about face to look at him. "Angus, do you think I could get away with burning his tongue out?" Her voice took on that sing-songy attribute once again. "I don't like killing, but... Well. His words are really starting to grate, you know? Like... Like rocks in a strainer." She claps her hands together at that. "I think we should all just drop it before something occurs that everyone will find themselves regretting for the forseeable future." <br> <br>Amaterasu having reganied her composure, more or less, wandered away from the argument. Perhaps she should go back? No, too much stress isn't good for the two of them, and that was a situation in which stress tends to generate in large amounts. No, instead she wandered a bit around the fairgrounds looking over the various stalls and things. Just relax, Ama, just relax. Eventually she will return, though creators help her when she has to deal with more arguing when it comes time to explain this to the family.<br> <br>Wulf smiles and flicks her ears at the Collie. "I like to think I'm at least a little religious. And I thank you for retracting the title of Escort, but I am far from innocent." She turns her head to Angus and she flicks her ears again. "As much as I would like to do what your thinking to this Lord my Lord Angus, I would think twice. This is neither the time nor place. We are here to enjoy the festivities."<br> <br>The Collie takes a step back at that, letting out another huff before grinning widely, it was honestly getting difficult to tell if he was just playing with Angus... "Ah Eldric... A idiot, and a traitor. If the worst you can dredge up is him, then you need to work boy. Besides, are you familiar with terms such as Victor's Justification? Since you lot down here are so happy to paint it as a victory for yourselves, why don't you ask yourselves how come your criers never shouted -your- soldiers crimes? Why, if they did that then they may lose support... And if the Solacious house isn't as -rightous- as it is said to be, then how can they be so certain they are the good guys?" His hands motioning over to Cassidy as he just smirks and looks down to her. "Much, like that. How quick you are young lady to rise to threats of violent retaliation over words. Often I hear from your ilk behind my back, about how it is my family that is shamefull, and yet save Eldric, we do not try to bring others in line with our views through force just because we lack a sharp tongue." The Collie glancing to Wulf as he contemplates for a moment before clearing his throat. "Your 'lord' instigated this by questioning my honor, and debating the methods of my raising of my daughter. Should your 'lord' wish to step down, he is more than able... But I will not back down from his words."

+ | "A pleasure, Selena of the Hearthkeeps... Come and sit yes? Better than standing at the least." THe tiger grinning as the Wolf identified as Suri speaks up. "You know, if you think you have Dacha in you, you should request permission to cross the border to see the clans! You could see how we live, and learn more about the world at the least..." Muri giving a short nod before he chimes in. "Aye! It's never a bad idea to do a little searching eh~?"
+ | |||
+ | As Ama wanders the fair grounds, a few give her cautious glances... In part for her wirefur crest, and another in part for the earlier loss of composure. A large bull running a stand filled with herbs takes the initiative to wave her over. "OI! Get over here before you lose your insides all out on the ground grilie!"<br> <br>Angus gives Wulf a nod, before lets go of her arm, and takes a step forward as he raises his hand to Cassidy to ask her for silence. "You wish to know my crimes? I do not hide them, for each fault I have endured has made me stronger then the kit I was. Each scar a testiment to my actions, my blunders, and my victories. Here and now, I trade blows with you. Matching wit against wit, tongue for tongue, yet you say it is not sharp enough to draw blood? This amuses me, and you are correct. I may be wary of your blood, but Eldric is the only one I ever wished to be clapped in irons. This duel will lead to nothing but dulled blades and broken wits, and only helps to hold open the wounds that Eldric himself rend into us. Shall we not allow it to heal, and call a true to this endless dance?" He asks as he exstends a hand to the Collie, biting on his tongue as his eyes grow hard and uncaring when they turn on the Collie, a cold fire burning within them, before commenting in a hollow, uncaring tone. "My name is Angus Solacious. May you fair well in Sweetwater while you visit."<br> <br>"You'd do well to remember that none of your family were present at the his hearing in Cliffside, too. Perhaps you should've been there to put that sentiment on official records." Selena warns the collie, still not out of the conversation, it'd seem. "His daughter was not a very good ambassador for your house either. Perhaps you should work on your public relations before making claims like that."
+ | |||
+ | Angus's response prompts a slight sigh from the wolfess, though it's not easy to tell if it's from the situation or content, accepting the seat and coughing quietly. "It's not an important name. I'm no noble and my parents passed away. You say it as though it's a title." she chuckles, finally taking another sip of her almost forgotten cider. "As interesting as that would be, I think I'll have to pass on the offer. There's been some issues close to home that I'd rather not be absent for. At some point though, I may have to consider it."<br> <br>Cassidy closes her eyes and shakes her head, a small ember stirring between her fingers before she quickly kills it. Not yet, she tells herself. "I don't act on behalf of the Solacious family. I act on my own. How I wish." But as Angus raises his hand, she cuts herself short and grumbles under her breath. Instead, she just watches. She only wanted a reason, at this point. A single justification to let the inferno go. Part of her prayed that she would get it, but the other prayed that she wouldn't, for fear she may not be able to stop herself. "I shall refrain for now, simply because I do not wish a spectacle. But do mind your manners in the future, please."<br> <br>Amaterasu walks in, her calming demeanor slowly returning. The bull, had caught her attention. Turning as she did to the being she was called by. One would think trying to side with solacious would give her some points with the populace. "Thank you." she gives, a curteous nod going to the bull, drawing her cloak about herself. "I don't suppose you have something for a pregnant fox, would you?" she tries to make light of it.<br> <br>Wulf looks at the Collie and frowns but she doesn't say anything, her tail wagging as Angus takes the high road. Though with the way the Collie is speaking she isn't sure if the Collie will let them go.<br> <br>The Collie looks down to the offered hand, before smirking some with that knowing look as he takes it. "I'll accept your offer. But for you Angus Solacious, I will say you've quite the tongue on you. If I were a lesser man, you'd have backed me into a corner long ago." It was -almost- as if the Collie was merely arguing for the sake of arguing! "You'd have done... Decent, at the academy." That had to honestly be as close to a compliment that he'd pay, before looking to Cassidy with an appraising eye as he turns back to wave for his daughter. "Get your mother, we're leaving for home. You may find your brother another day, if the drunk bothers to wake up and remember his position in life."
+ | |||
+ | "Ah, that is a shame then... None the less, hopefully one day you will show up yeah? If time allows... If not, at least push your friend there to the border... He looks well enough like a man I know, to warrent asking about blood." The Tiger lowering his voice for that, before hopping up and patting the wolves as he departs. "But! Tis time for this old man to be going to sleep... May you all take care yes!"
+ | |||
+ | The Bull grunts before producing a batch of herbs for Ama as he crossess his arms. "What's a pregnant woman that gets sick it seems doing running around without medicine? Bah! Take this, grind it up into tea or your food, once in morning, once at night. Should take care of the sickness... And go to your priests for more! There is no reason to not have proper herbs and such."<br> <br>Angus cracks a smile as he nods to the Collie. "I shall take that as a compliment, safe travels to you and your family." He takes a step back, turning to walk back to Wulf. Before he pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs. "I do believe I have had enough of the other nobles for today Wulf, shall we go get proper drinks?" He asks of her as he gives her a soft smile, tail flicking a bit as he turns his gaze to Cassidy...and sticks out his tongue.<br> <br>Selena shrugs, giving the tiger a nod nonetheless. "Maybe. I believe I saw the being you're thinking of when a wine merchant was being escorted by the pass... Though that may be better for another time. Take care, then." She replies to the tiger, gesturing over to Angus. "We still need to have that talk with Kalt when you have time as well. Things've been busy lately, haven't they..?"<br> <br>Cassidy offers the collie a cheery smile as he looks in her direction. Her temper, much like the winds and fires themselves, had come and gone and left her not seemingly phased by the previous events. One really had to question some things about that woman, sometimes. Like a switch. She turns and takes her companion in her arm, still smiling. "Come now, it's been a long day. I think I could use a drink and some rest. Shall we, Max?" With that, the 'couple' make their way out of the festivities area, their purchases of the day in hand, peering at Angus as she goes. "Whaaat?"<br> <br>Amaterasu thanked the bull for the herbs "I figured I could function without them." she offers, handing the merchant a fair price for those he gave her "Enjoy the rest of your night, I do hope my family hasn't soured it." she nods, standing with some assistance before she locates her own date, and sighing. "Let's go home." she offers, using Jera as a balance while they head for the exit. Perhaps she will follow up with the solacious later, find out what happened."<br> <br>Wulf looks relieved to leave, leaving with Angus after saying her goodbyes.<br> <br>As the commotion had finally died down, the scene resumed it's normal pace... Almost as though it all hadnt happened! Granted, the gossip that the day had generated -did- beg to differ, but the nobility is a strange and complex creature. Barely reasonable by many observing eyes, and perhaps it was truly best this way...[[Category:RPLogs]] |

The Tournament grounds are abuzz with activity today, as aids to the various nobles move and dash between hastily constructed stalls and platforms to carry out their duties. All along the edge of the grounds, smaller merchant stands have been erected for those not comfortable in rubbing elbows with nobility... Though, the -real- party is in the center of the grounds. A quickly constructed wooden dance floors takes up the majority of the space, with various nobles chatting and laughing amongst each other instead of -dancing- it seems. Granted, the younger of the nobility are busy showing each other how to move with the rhythym, but sadly enough they do not seem the majority.
Around the wooden dance floor are representatives for almost every noble family. All of them busy chatting and attempting to flaunt their wealth and status it seems, although that holds less true on the Thera'dorian side, where a hastily errected stable has been made, for the Dacha's to laugh at local nobility trying to ride their high quality horses.
Having heard of an intresting party starting up at the tournament grounds, and wanting an excuse to get out of his room at the manor. Angus decides to actually attend one of these things out of curiousity, but not by his own nooo. This time he was dragging Wulf along with him, the husky hanging off the well dressed foxes arm as he stands off to the side of the wooden dance floor, chuckling a little as he watches the dancing before he turns to look at Wulf. "Having fun yet Wulf?"
Selena seems to have had a similar idea, perhaps ironic given her rather public opinion on the subject matter. It's difficult to tell if there's an ulterior motive or not. The wolfess makes her way along in her normal clothes, making no fuss of the situation. Seeing Angus and Wulf, she offers a wave to the pair and moves along to them, flashing a smile.
Cassidy wanders into the tournament grounds, partly out of familial obligations, partly out of curiosity. As was usual for such events, she had dressed herself nicely today in a light blue gown, complete with gloves. Less usual, for her at least, was the fact that she wasn't unaccompanied today, either. A young fox at her side, though not of Solacious ilk. She paused for a moment, glancing around the area and whispering something to her companion before shuffling off to take a look at some of the merchants and their wares, the man in tow.
Jera spots familiar friends! Heading over with a few wares tucked under his cloak, mostly arcane runes and spellcrafting materials along with simple spells. This was good and ample time for advertisement, after all. "You're representing Solacious?" He catches up to Angus and asks, laughing as he waits for his own companion to show up.
Amaterasu sighs, She was wandering about the stalls, any fire in the area leaning towards the girl as she worked to calm her slight rage. The nerve of that bitch of a cousin of hers, stopping to pick up some water she shook her head. Lowering the hood on her cloak she adjusted the scrunched up fore which proudly displayed her familial crest. Her nausea was returning, so her battle then became one to prevent that from taking over her. Heading for the dance floor, she could at least try and socialize with people there, walking towards those solacious that he saw. She could at least try and be friendly with them.
Wulf is dressed in her twin's outft... it's honestly the nicest stuff she has to wear. Regardless she does look good hanging off of Angus' arm. As Angus asks her wether she is enjoying herself the husky shrugs. "I guess? I've never been much for watching things. But it is nice."
Catching sight of Selena however the girl grins happily. "Oh! Selena! How are you today?!"
"You there, m'lady and her escort, why don't you come on closer to my stall no~?" A elderly fruit bat woman calls out, while motioning them forward to her stall... Various charms, decks of strange cards, and even a few bags of runes are spread everywhere! "I am Malaya Duskcaller, and am a merchant of fate shall we say~?" The woman giving a wide grin to the 'couple' as she spreads out her arms and looks expectantly.
The group at the dance floor are givin little room it seems, as those merely chatting have no desire to move it seems... All the same, a smaller deer folk weaves her way through the crowd, holding a serving tray and plenty of small glassess of alchoholic drinks, as she approaches the group. "Good day M'lords and Ladies~! Might I interest you all in a drink?"
Angus snags a drink from the small deer as they walk by, flashing Wulf a smile. "Neither have I, but it is better then sitting in the manor is it not?" He asks as he takes a sip of the drink, before turning his gaze on the being walking towards him, his smile growing thin as he notices the family crest on her cloak. "Good evening."
He then turns to Jera, giving them a slight nod as he chuckles. "Why not? I am a noble yes?" He asks of the fox as he nods in greeting to Selena.
Selena takes a look over the charms, raising an eyebrow a little before greeting Wulf and Angus proper. "It's good to see you both again. The pups haven't been giving you trouble, have they Wulf?"
A hug to each of them later and she turns back to the Deer. "What do you have, exactly?" And shortly thereafter waving over to Jera when she recognizes the constantly-covered fox.
Cassidy gives the male's hand a squeeze and smiles at the bat woman. "It's nice to meet you, Malaya. What all do you have here?" She asks, looking towards the charms and decks of cards in particular. "Looks like quite an interesting stock. I would love to know more." The well dressed man himself looks towards the bags of runes before looking around to see what other interesting things were around today.
I thought they'd have ousted you by now with the way things go sometime." Jera laughs in jest, waving Selena over and handing her a few runes. "Materials for that spell you made for me. Taken fresh from Amaterasu's import store. Do stop by!" He continues his advertisement, though not pushing it anymore about his group of friends as he waves Ama over, only briefly, not wanting to show off his glowing marks. And then he watches Malaya for a moment as a thought crosses his mind. "Could you tell us our fate? O-our fate together that is."
Amaterasu gave a nod of acknowledgement to Angus as he adresses her "Evening." the Arctic fox replies coming up to stand beside Jera "Hey, Jera. Enjoying yourself?" she asks, standing on her toes to give him a light kiss on the cheek "Sorry I couldn't show up with you. I had some... Familial issues to take care of." she sighs, sipping a bit of her water as she shakes her head to the deer "What pleasant company you have though, care to introduce us?" she asks, her tail wagging a bit as her nausea went by the wayside, after took a bit more of her water to calm her stomach.
Wulf flicks her tail and nods Angus in agreement as Angus speaks. "I guess so, but I do have my pups to entetain me back at the manor... speaking of which you still haven't named the Vixen. You should get on that dear." Directing her attention to Selena she reaches out and brings her in to rest hip by hip and rests her arm across the Wolfess' shoulders. "They've been good thank you Selena."
"Items of fortuns, runes... Cards... Even a couple of charms! Charms for pregnancy, luck, love, happiness, you name it any charm I most likely have... That, and I do readings too~! You merely decide if you want a fortune by cards, or a fortune by runes and I work to give you a swift answer..." The woman looking over to Jera and Amaterasu as she strokes her chin and nods. "I can... For a small fee."
The Deer woman bows deeply to Selena before clearing her throat. "Thera'dorian whisky, Shralestan wine, and some cliffside cider M'lady. If that is not for you though, I could go and procure some water?"
U:ll have a reading by the cards. Always loved playing." Jera smiles warmly and slips Ama a big hug, blushing at the kiss. "Mmh, if you don't already know...This is my soon to be mate." His tail rubs over the arctic vixen's torso as he grabs a drink from the deer to get Shralesta wine, leaving coins where the glass stood and settling down on the mystic's counter. "I need this for the bad news. I deserve this for the good." He explains with a chuckle.
Angus flicks his ears back and force as he eyes Amaterasu, his smile a thin line as his gaze flicks to her noble seal before looking her straight in the eye. "Angus Solacious Ma'am. It's a pleasure to meet you." He states as he squeezes his glass a little, his right hand dipping into his doublet to adjust the garment a bit, fingers brushing against the hilt of the dagger there to reassure himself before Wulf catches his attention once more. "You are correct, I should give her a proper name soon." He grumbles, before he flashes Selena a soft smile. "Never thought I would see you here."
Selena chuckles quietly. "You don't say. How much would some of the cider set me back, then?" She asks, peering over the crowd for a moment and murmuring something under her breath, still staying near Angus. "I'm not surprised you'd say that. I suppose it isn't the most likely of places, but I was hoping I could find someone here."
Cassidy rubs at one of her ears, exchanging a few words with the man for a moment before letting him go to check out one of the other stalls. In the mean time, the fennec turns back towards the bat and nods. "I might be interested in a few things... Perhaps a reading, some of your charms and... Maybe your cards? Might have to tell me more about those! But I am certainly interested."
Amaterasu nods softly "Amaterasu Wirefur." the girl responds to Angus "A pleasure to meet you, lord Solacious." she wasn't lacking for manners, nodding to his friend and his date for the night as well. She seems to recognize Selena, though it's a foggy memory. Angus' motion was lost on her though, imagining as it was to be just him adjusting his garment. She chuckles a bit herself, leaning against Jera a bit "I don't see us needing to worry, Jera." she smiles, her tail brushing his as she refocuses on the conversation between the three in front of her.
The mention of Wirefur has Wulf utter a low growl. The Solacious and Firmament haven't had very good relations with them. The Husky stays quiet and reaches out for one of the drinks, a cider specifically to drink. That husky tail flicks and she removes her arm from off of Angus' for a moment to smoothen out her loincloth before placing her arm back through his loop.
"Hrm... As you wish sir. A fee of one crown for the reading..." The woman's hands reaching over to her deck as she begins to shuffle the cards, before laying them out before herself in a complex pattern, and clears her throat... "Death signifying change, serves at the atmosphere of the issue. Good or bad, transformations have, and continue to happen to your being, be wary lest the change happen too fast for you... The Knight of Pentacles serves as the force that stands in your way. Curious, as it represents a mature and responsible person... In this situation, it shows someone working head long for their goal with fool hardy persistance."
The woman gives a moment of pause to look over Jera and Ama, before flipping another card over. "This card shows the best you can achieve without a dramatic change of priorities... And it is the Fool. A card that shows one eagerly accepting all without thought of conciquences, a card filled with passion, unlimited possibilites, but at the same time foolishness, rashness, and thoughtlessness. The foundation on which the situation is based, is the Queen of Pentacles. She shows us wealth, power, nobility of the soul and blood. She gives extreme comfort, pleasure, grace, and dignity while showing a rich being whom is generous and charitable."
A flick of her ears, and the woman dips her head to Cassidy before offering a smile as she pulls out a box of charms for her to look through, before continuing the reading. "Here we have a passing influence or something to be released... And for you, it is the High Priest. The High Priest captures the good of the souls, but at the same time shows a force of one captive to their own ideas, and refuses to change with the world or situation. Next comes an approaching influence or something to be embraced, the World takes this spot for you both... A lucky sign to many, it shows triumph and success in endeavors, throughout struggle and effort. It is not a card of a victory just givin, but one -earned-... Following this card, we have the card that champions your role or attitude, Ace of Swords. The Ace of Swords is a blessed one for such a question as this, as it shows great determination, along with strength, power, fertility, and a deep emotional love."
The woman draws a deep breath as she looks over the three remaining cards, before slowly flipping them over. "This spot will champion your environment and the people you are interacting with, the Ten of Cups. This shows a good enviroment, happiness, healthy friends and family surround you, along with goodness of reputation and peace... And next, comes your hopes, fears, or an unexpected element that will come into play... And it is the page of cups, shown in reverse. A dangerous sign for love, as this shows temptation, a flatterer, seduction, and deviation. Be wary of it, lest you fall to it. Which brings me to your last card, the ultimate outcome should you continue on this course." The woman frowning as she looks to the card before taking a deep breath. "The Chariot, Reversed. A woefull sign, as it shows a victory snatched from your hands at the last second, defeat in something you should have rightfully earned as your plans collapse."
The Deer woman shakes her head to Selena as she smiles happily. "No need to pay M'lady, the Dacha clan swore that if anyone bought a horse from them, they would pay for all the drinks tonight... And thankfully we had a woman earlier make her way out with one of their horses after taming it. So, as long as the tents are raised, the drinks shall flow!" The woman pulling a cider from her tray, before handing it out to Selena with a slight curtsy.
Angus nods his head slowly to Amterasu, squeezing Wulf's arm as his gaze flicks to hers as if to warn her not to make a scene before he turns back to Amaterasu, a pleasant mask slipping over his features as he smiles. "It is nice to meet you Lady Wirefur, what brings you to Sweetwater?" He takes another gulp of his drink as he nods to Selena. "Still, good to see you here."
Cassidy listens quietly to the reading, looking over the charms, humming in thought as she selects four of the smaller ones and one of the larger ones, ears twitching a little as she holds them close, waiting til the woman finished the current reading so she could have her own, as well as pay for her charms.
Selena peers at Amaterasu for a moment, accepting the drink from the deer and giving them an appreciative nod and a 'small' tip - by soulless standards anyway, aparrently seeing fit to just ignore the name and continue her business. ""I'm glad to hear that you and they've been well." She replies to the husky before nudging the Angus an murmuring something to him.
"I am... A little curious on if I'll find peace and happiness. More specifically... What's in my future, perhaps?" The fennec frowns a little and rubs at her ear with her free hand. "I am kind of new to this."
Jera smiles. He sips at the drink happily and offers Ama a hug, shaking his head at the very last rune. "We should just finish the lifebonding now." He laughs.
Amaterasu shifts a bit, the reading bothering her a tad, but she remained composed, nodding to Jera's statement "What brought me to sweetwater, you mean." she smiles, hers, apart from Angus' was genuine. "I came a little while ago, actually, a frail, sickly thing looking for a cure to an illness I had. After spending some time here, I then found the cure, and here I am." it was just a gloss over of the subject, but it was easy to tell she didn't like talking about it. Leaning against the Kit Fox once more, she nodded a bit "Jera, helped me with much when I arrived..." she offered "Too much for me to repay in any capacity within a single life."
Wulf blinks at Angus, but she remains quiet. The Husky sips at her drink to look at Selena with a happy smile. "Thank you Selena, I'm glad they are doing well too... even thoughb Angus' name slacking."
The woman frowns at Jera's comment about the lifebonding, clearing her throat as she motions over the cards. "I advise against doing such. With all respect, as the cards have shown me, to do such a thing in haste will not grant you victory in the end of it all." Her gaze turning back to Cassidy before she nods. "Very well, let me see..." The woman's hands moving to pull the cards in and reshuffle her deck, before preforming a more simple pattern than the one she did for Ama and Jera, drawing only five cards before she clears her throat. "The card in the center represents the attitude you assume, which here we have the nine of cups reversed. This shows mistakes, loss, disputes, false freedom, and imperfections. A dangerous card in such a spot, as it shows your thoughts threaten to consume you with negativity. The card to the right represents the thoughts and feelings that underly your attitudes, and it is the five of pentacles. This shows us that your attitude is fueld by the fears of failure, fearing of losing both materialistically, and emotionally. Be it in the way others view you, the way you've lived your life, or even in the game of love. You find yourself worrying more so often then you do enjoying it. Which then leads you to believe that if you do not force yourself to the best, or enjoy it the most, you are suffering."
A flick of her large ears, and the woman begins to flip the next two cards. "The card at the top represents how your attitude is evolving and will evolve in the future. Here we have the Seven of Swords reversed... Arguments, quarrels, uncertain council being given, or sought. You will look for the answers you seek child, but the places you shall look will strike out venomous lies, to use you to it's own end. The card to the left represents how others perceive your attitude currently, which you have drawn the Queen of Pentacles. A almost theater worthy card to mix with your others, it shows that others view you with great esteem. You are viewed as wealthy in spirit, mind, and heart."
Her fingers travel over the last card before flipping it and clearing her throat gently. "The card at the bottom represents what you cannot confront or are hiding from yourself, and you have drawn the King of Pentacles in reverse... This is a dark card for such a reading I am loathe to say, as it tells of a darkness inside of you that would see you push through any means to get to an end. No matter how wrong or dark it may seem, you bring yourself and others danger and peril."
The Deer woman blinks at her tip, before bowing deeply with a smile. "My pleasure M'lady, may the night be kind to you." Soon enough, nearing the center of the dance floor, there seems to be some sort of commotion starting about a young Collie woman, and a Caribou boy, both holding hands and judging from the shouting of one large Collie male clad in his cliffside military uniform at the boy, the duo had just shared a brief kiss.
Angus looks to Selena and nods as he visibly starts to relax before he sighs. "I see, well I would like to formaly welcome you to Sweetwater." He blinks as he hears yelling, turning his attention to the collie and Caribou couple as he frowns. "Excuse me while I go see what this is about, if you have need of me just ask Private Jera to contact me." He squeezes Wulfs arm, flashing Selena another smile as he walks over to see what the argument was about.
Selena spends 10 Crown for RP reasons.
Selena pats the fox on the back gently. "I think I'm interested as well. I don't think I've ever heard of a Cliffsider getting uppity over their pick of a partner." She notes curiously, moving along in the direction of the commotion as well with her cider - and when within earshot she politely interjects with "What's the matter? I don't see anything wrong here."
Cassidy stares down at the cards, ears perked and listening to the woman. She wasn't so sure about all this at first, but the way they played out hit a little too close to perfect for her, and she knew it. Part of her wanted to laugh. She wasn't sure why she wanted to, but she knew that'd be rather inappropriate at the time, so she gives a grim smile instead and nods. "Thank you." She lapses into silence for a moment before shaking herself out of it. "Seems even the fates has conspired against me, huh?" She asks with a bit of a jesting tone to her voice, covering up whatever she was feeling inside. "I have some charms I wanted to buy, as well, yes. Maybe they will help?" All the while her ears twitch towards the sound of the commotion by the stage. "How much will they all be, miss?"
Amaterasu shifts uneasily... She glances at Jera, before following after Selena and Angus, a small look of apprehension on her face "Please don't be who I think it is, please don't be who I think it is..." she shakes her head, looking back to Jera to see if he was following. She had a feeling this was not going to end well, and that she was going to be ridiculed, yet again.
Wulf follows along with Angus, hanging off of his arm like she had been earlier. As they arrive the Husky looks in between them with squint and lets Angus and Selena to talk first and hear what they have to say before she speaks up herself.
Jera turns around and follows Ama after, noticing her discomfort.
"You come here, and think that merely because my daughter catches your eyes, she is yours to kiss and hold as you see fit?!" The Collie male huffing some before reaching out his daughter's freehand to pull her over to him. The girl whinning some, but as her ears fold back and she looks down, it's obvious she wasn't going to argue. "Sir, I was merely lost for a moment, and I am sorry. Please, just know I had no intention to try and run off with your daughter, or defile her honor." The Caribou bowing deeply as it seems he was smart enough to know not to urge a fight in such a place as this, though his gaze does flick to those whom approach.
"What's the matter? A noble of another land, and another -species- tries to seduce my daughter at a passing dance so he could probably take her out back behind the sheds, and you ask what the -problem- is?! I dare not ask what happens around here for you to have such a 'free' line of thought over the matter, but your council isn't needed woman." The Collie's gaze flicking over to Angus and Wulf with a little snear before he looks to Ama, not recognizing her thankfully enough for herself. "Certainly -you- understand why my concerns are warrented... Such acts degrade the honor of the woman, and produce a future for them where they bring shame on the family." The Caribou poking his head up as the Collie finishes speaking, lookin to the group with an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, it is my fault... I asked his daughter to dance, and got carried away over her beauty. The Creators must know I am only a man, and I make mistakes." Male and Female Carribou seem to be watching the boy from the sidelines as well, and judging from the matching outfits of the three they were all from the Aldermann family, though aparantly just as content to let their son get the tongue lashing over his actions.
"Fates do not conspire against us child, it is a foolish notion to believe all is set in stone, that is bread by those who fulfill their prophecy while trying to deny it. Listen to the words of an old woman will you? Life will show us bad times... We will know failure often... Ah, we may even not be the one to carry the honor of prestige upon our shoulders all the time. But life is what -you- make of it, for good or bad. Live for the day, count your blessings, and don't dwell in the dark, for it is frightening and all consuming of even the brightest spark. As for the charms, ten crown shall cover it I believe."
Angus narrows his eyes as he looks to the Collie who spoke, patting Wulf on the forearm a bit to council her as he smiles. "It amuses me that you wish to keep her from degrading her honor when you do so yourself at this moment by putting on such a show over just a little kiss. The only one I see placing shame upon their family is the one speaking" He bites back, tail flicking in annoyance as he flashes a fanged smile.
Cassidy stares for a moment longer before giving a faint smile and offering the woman twenty crown, instead. "I will... Try to heed your words, yes. Thank you. This has been an enlightening evening, and I appreciate it." She gives another smile and turns to see what the commotion is, herself, and to make sure her cousin doesn't get himself in trouble as her companion for the evening returns. Just in case, she takes a moment to adjust her soul gems as she walks.
Selena looks back over to the group. "Maybe we have a different upbringing, but giving and recieving affection is normal in society. Let them speak for themselves if they want to take issue with what happened - like it or not they are their own people." She deadpans. "What's degrading is talking down to a being after such a thing as though it were a crime."
Amaterasu sighs thankful for the fact that he did not reognize her. Still, maybe she could help end this easily? "They speak sense." she offers, "You disgrace both us and your position by making a commotion about it in the middle of a crowd. This matter should be dealt with in private, with both parties involved present. I would assume such tact would be present in a being of which won such honors with his wit. Your anger douses your judgement." the fox offers.
Wulf twitches her left eyebrow at the collies... impertinence. Not to her, that's kinda expected but it instead his impertinence to Angus. The Husky's hand moves down to herside and the pouch there to drag out a pair of soul stones to replace the ones she currently has.
The Collie huffs before narrowing his eyes at Angus as he straightens his posture. "Tell me, will your house recognize the woman you've got draped on your arm right there as your own? No? It's amusing to see a Solacious try and reprimand me as his escort for the night is present. Be a good boy and saunter off unless you think you can play your words correctly without resorting to waving your military around." A few foreign nobles giving soft chuckles in the crowd, and others little murmers as they begin discuss and probably even bet on it all... A few glancing to Selena as she speaks, though for the most part this was the wrong group to submit such an idea too. Many noble families working extra hard to keep their family lines as -pure- as possible, though a stocky looking tiger shakes his head with a hearty chuckle, the seal of the Conglomerate upon his shoulder displaying his position in Thera'dor. "Ah pretty lady, you are talking to the wrong kinds right now. Many of the families only want pure blood within them, so families will turn on each other to ensure it. It is not pretty, but is the way of the world eh?" The Tiger offering a slight smile as two male wolves with Dacha clan emblems sit down next to him.
The merchant smiles to Cassidy as she takes her payment, and gives a bow of her head gently. "Be warry when walking into the nest of trouble dear~" The scene as much a spectacle for all to enjoy it seems, the bards lowering their playing some when Ama speaks, and the Collie gives a low growl. "Is that what you think then? Perhaps you're the type that sees it as free spirit enough to let bastard children run rampant? A common decision amongst some of our ilk these days, and a poor one at that." The Collie motioning his daughter away before the Caribou clears his throat and holds up his hands to the group with a frown. "Please please, I thank you for your wish to help defend me, but this will only drag out longer the more it is entertained perhaps? Besides, we all are endowed with our own ways of thinking, to help us see the purpose we are meant for this world. Natural it is for them to conflict, but we do no mercy to the creator saints by doing such like this..." The boy getting a gentle nod from his parents before he smiles gently, seems he was a young priest in the making!
Cassidy spends 20 Crown for RP reasons.
Angus gives a smile to the Collie, the barb a well aimed one that bites deep as he reins in his anger. "A most amusing retort my good man, but you asume that my familys honor is so fragile that we must clutch it as fiercly you would clutch your purse. I'll have you know my escort is a good friend, having won my respect time and again defending the citizens of this land against those that would ravage her. Something you would not understand by the sound of it." He waves off the Collie, patting Wulf on the forearm once more as his anger starts to ebb away slowly along with his words. "You speak of keeping your blood pure, but I have seen its color when the light shines upon it, and I assure you it is no shade of crimson."
Selena Shrugs, turning back to the tiger. Even she has more claim to the the word if you remember what it means and not who represent it."
Cassidy heaves a heavy sigh and clicks her tongue. Maybe it'd work this time, too.
Amaterasu on the other hand wasn't so easy to control her temper, the jab cutting a little too deep for her particular resistances. The angry woman stomping her way back towards a stall, swaying a bit dangerously as a wave of nausea hit her, forcing her to grip a pole to steady herself, and prevent her from vomiting.
Wulf smiles at Angus' words but turns to look at the Collie once again. The soul is what you should be looking to, not some notion of pure blood... and when you go to meet the creators it is the soul that will be judged, not blood."
The Caribou sighs and takes a few steps back, returning to his parents as it seems the group was intent on continuing.
"A true point lady. You are certain you are not from the north? Perhaps some Dacha runs through your veins hm? Hard to find many who see beyond blood these days... I am Ligo of the Conglamerate, and this is Muri and Suri of the Dacha." The three dipping their head some before offering her a smile.
The Collie waves a hand dismissivly as Ama lashes out at him, rolling his eyes gently. My words should only be meant for the man whom gives you his arm, not a innocent girl such as yourself."
At that retort, the fox no long holds his composure, Angus' smile turning into an outright scowl. "That may be, but an honorable death on the battlefield is better then rotting away in a dungeon. Spending my life in a cage because I murdered my own people for coin. You've seen my blood yes, but at least I know it doesn't run cold when my gaze turns to my own nations people. And you are smart not to touch a child, far smarter then Eldric ever was." He snaps back the venom in his words far greater then even a dose of heart fire as the grip on Wulf's forearm grows tight.
Selena puts a hand on Angus's spare shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Selena Hearthkeep."
Cassidy pauses in her tracks and stops her chin. "I think we should all just drop it before something occurs that everyone will find themselves regretting for the forseeable future."
Amaterasu having reganied her composure, more or less, wandered away from the argument. Perhaps she should go back? No, too much stress isn't good for the two of them, and that was a situation in which stress tends to generate in large amounts. No, instead she wandered a bit around the fairgrounds looking over the various stalls and things. Just relax, Ama, just relax. Eventually she will return, though creators help her when she has to deal with more arguing when it comes time to explain this to the family.
Wulf smiles and flicks her ears at the Collie. We are here to enjoy the festivities."
The Collie takes a step back at that, letting out another huff before grinning widely, it was honestly getting difficult to tell if he was just playing with Angus...
"A pleasure, Selena of the Hearthkeeps...
As Ama wanders the fair grounds, a few give her cautious glances... In part for her wirefur crest, and another in part for the earlier loss of composure. A large bull running a stand filled with herbs takes the initiative to wave her over. "OI! Get over here before you lose your insides all out on the ground grilie!"
Angus gives Wulf a nod, before lets go of her arm, and takes a step forward as he raises his hand to Cassidy to ask her for silence. May you fair well in Sweetwater while you visit."
"You'd do well to remember that none of your family were present at the his hearing in Cliffside, too. Perhaps you should've been there to put that sentiment on official records." Selena warns the collie, still not out of the conversation, it'd seem. "His daughter was not a very good ambassador for your house either. Perhaps you should work on your public relations before making claims like that."
Angus's response prompts a slight sigh from the wolfess, though it's not easy to tell if it's from the situation or content, accepting the seat and coughing quietly. At some point though, I may have to consider it."
Cassidy closes her eyes and shakes her head, a small ember stirring between her fingers before she quickly kills it. But do mind your manners in the future, please."
Amaterasu walks in, her calming demeanor slowly returning. The bull, had caught her attention. Turning as she did to the being she was called by. One would think trying to side with solacious would give her some points with the populace. "Thank you." she gives, a curteous nod going to the bull, drawing her cloak about herself. "I don't suppose you have something for a pregnant fox, would you?" she tries to make light of it.
Wulf looks at the Collie and frowns but she doesn't say anything, her tail wagging as Angus takes the high road. Though with the way the Collie is speaking she isn't sure if the Collie will let them go.
The Collie looks down to the offered hand, before smirking some with that knowing look as he takes it.
"Ah, that is a shame then...
The Bull grunts before producing a batch of herbs for Ama as he crossess his arms. "What's a pregnant woman that gets sick it seems doing running around without medicine? Bah! Take this, grind it up into tea or your food, once in morning, once at night. Should take care of the sickness... And go to your priests for more! There is no reason to not have proper herbs and such."
Angus cracks a smile as he nods to the Collie. "I shall take that as a compliment, safe travels to you and your family." He takes a step back, turning to walk back to Wulf. Before he pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs. "I do believe I have had enough of the other nobles for today Wulf, shall we go get proper drinks?" He asks of her as he gives her a soft smile, tail flicking a bit as he turns his gaze to Cassidy...and sticks out his tongue.
Selena shrugs, giving the tiger a nod nonetheless. "Maybe. I believe I saw the being you're thinking of when a wine merchant was being escorted by the pass... Though that may be better for another time. Take care, then." She replies to the tiger, gesturing over to Angus. "We still need to have that talk with Kalt when you have time as well. Things've been busy lately, haven't they..?"
Cassidy offers the collie a cheery smile as he looks in her direction. "Whaaat?"
Amaterasu thanked the bull for the herbs "I figured I could function without them." she offers, handing the merchant a fair price for those he gave her "Enjoy the rest of your night, I do hope my family hasn't soured it." she nods, standing with some assistance before she locates her own date, and sighing. "Let's go home." she offers, using Jera as a balance while they head for the exit. Perhaps she will follow up with the solacious later, find out what happened."
Wulf looks relieved to leave, leaving with Angus after saying her goodbyes.
As the commotion had finally died down, the scene resumed it's normal pace... Almost as though it all hadnt happened! Granted, the gossip that the day had generated -did- beg to differ, but the nobility is a strange and complex creature. Barely reasonable by many observing eyes, and perhaps it was truly best this way...
