Late morning in Firmament, mostly heavily cloudy and punctuated by intermittent drizzles that faze the common being none as they go about their business. However, it seems that today, none of the councilbeings are getting much don - or are at least taking the fact that an entire motley crew has found its way not just into the council building, but right in the meeting chambers and are occupying a good number of the seats meant for that illustrious body of tradesbeings, merchants, community leaders and other important beings who presumably represent the concerns of the common being to the king.

There aren't that many of the protestors - perhaps about forty of them - but they've entrenched themselves pretty well, some of them holding signs of scrap wood representing their demand that the Creator Money be set aside for the eventual purchase of Promise.

Siyu is here for another hearing, the rodent is of course getting more political and enjoying at least listening to the majority of the arguments here. He loooks over at all of the protestors and shakes his head. Far too loud and too much of a mass. He'll take his seat over by the merchant's space sit down and wait to hear what the conversations will play out today. Looking around for his nemisis the ferret.

Cedric had decided to head down to the council building, having heard of the protests and fearing things could get out of hand quickly down there. After all, hadn't his patron spirit bid him to help sort out this nonsense about creator money? Even aside from his own curiosity, he felt obligated to at least check things out and so the badger travelled purposefully through the streets of firmament in the drizzle to make his way to the building.

Kalt makes her way slowly into the council room, her uniform neat and pressed helping her to look as professional as possible... With the exception to her left arm hanging across her arm in a sling and the shoulder with a piece of metal wrapped around it to help prevent extra damage, but the Vixen isn't one to let a simple broken shoulder stop her from her duties. A letter is in her right hand, her duty today to deliver it to a member of the solacious sitting in for the meeting today, but she's nice and surprised at the protest taking place at the moment. "Well, least they ain't burnin' everything..." She mutters gently to herself.

Angus sighs once more as it seems these protesters wouldn't be leaving quickly, which means he was going to be stuck here for longer then he wished. He tapped his fingers against the surface in front of him, chin propped up in his hand as he just stares at them. Then someone walking in catches his attention, his ears perking up as he turns to a familiar face, and is caught off guard as he realizes her arm is in a sling.

Rogna stares out at the unruly protest group and shakes his head. He keeps an eye on them all, attempting to ensure nothing breaks out to endanger anyone else, but mostly he stands among a wall today, among guards who can clearly see his gear. He asks one, as nothing seems to be pressing the attention of all present, how this managed to manifest itself, making as much on good humor as he can.

Cassidy slinks up behind Angus, dressed up in a skyblue silk dress, largely devoid of weapons, today. Afterall, it wouldn't do to take weaponry to any kind of court setting. Even a protest. She snakes a hand out to poke her cousin in the side, brow raising. "I had a feeling I'd find you here, too."

To say that the scene is tense would be an understatement. A continent of city guard with shields raised, although their weapons not drawn, on one side of the chamber, the protestors with their wooden placards on the other. How the protestors managed to get into the chamber - be it through a sympathetic doorkeeper, jimmying the lock, or some other shenanigans - is unclear to everyone Rogna asks, but the end result is open for all to see: the scheduled council proceedings being stalled while this plays itself out. It could come to blows, perhaps, but the resolution is far from clear at this point.

"Get gone. You know the rules for presentin' matters to the Council."

"Considering the events of the time this matter was brought up in court, I don't intend to get a fair chance at even presenting my case here," a cougar woman replies from amongst the crowd. "We are gathered here peacefully, and simply wish to make sure that our case is presented by ourselves, in our own words, to those we aim to make it heard, instead of having it no doubt mangled by some royal scribe. The Creator representative arrives in less than a month. What will they think of us? We are gathered here peacefully to -"

"If you're going to appeal to that, what are they going to think of folk who cut the queue and cause disruption just to make their point? You really going to think the Creators are going to be impressed with such behaviour, let us buy back our planet this way?"

Back and forth, back and forth.

Siyu he leans back in his chair, the protestors near him and he clears his throat, "The points you made were all brought up to the Good King, the minutes of the meeting I am sure are available. We had a discussion in length from both Merchants and Nobility. The Good King is of hte mind to accept and petition the creators. His choice is made, your purpose here is moot as, though we ourselves are not...particular members belonging to your organization it's concerns were already discussed LAST meeting..." he nods, knowing that the skinflint of a ferret iddn't take him up on the offer to print the Good Kings procolmation and spread it all over town.

Cedric takes a seat near the back, watching the chaotic proceedings for a bit and taking the scene in as he figures out what to do next. He watches the crowd of protestors carefully as well as the guards, trying to get a feel for just how tense the situation is here. What is there he can do to help diffuse this situation.

Kalt skirts her way through and around those gathered as she approaches angus and sets the letter down for him. "Erm... Figured ain'---" She clears her throat then and tries to suppress her country accent some. "I uhm... I mean I thought you'd not bein-- I mean not too busy today with them..." She dips her head to Cassidy before flicking her ears in annoyance as she turns to the group, forgetting the effort to try and suppress her accent. "Aw, but if'n you sit there an' fiddle'em up they ain't gonna get talkin' any differently though."

Angus jumps a little when he is poked, turning to eye his cousin as he gives her a soft greeting before Kalt's letter is placed in front of him. "hm? What happened to your arm?" He asks as he looks down at the letter, picking it up before he leans forward and speaks. "That's all well and good that you want to get your thoughts heard, but think on what you are doing. If you want to set a good example, barging in and then getting into a brawl with the guard is not a good one that I can see. If you really, truely want to be heard, why not try and find a counsilman that's views are mirrored by your own? They could help could they not?"

Rogna nods to the guards, keeping an eye on the situation as he listens to the arguements. "Given the matters for this time, while in need of attention, are clearly going to have to wait, please, offer your stance on the issue so that it may be resolved as quickly as possible. If hearing you will benefit both parties then I see no reason not to, however I do suggested against distruptive behavior, come, let us all be civil. That will garner the most respect from those who carefully sculpt wonders, not unruly chaos." the hippo says rather loudly, not willing to let this climb into violence.

Cassidy gives a polite nod to Kalt, smiling as she leans around Angus' side, shamelessly trying to read the letter from around him. "We had a rough day last night. We're alive, though. Probably more than can be said for those that did it... I'm not sure." Her ears twitch towards the protestors and nods along. "Yes, you're not alone in your views, certainly! Just look at how many you have assembled. I'm sure someone in a position to speak will agree! If not, maybe they can be turned to your side."

"Because there are none, and frankly, I, Brita Windsoar, have neither the stomach nor the depravity that is required to grease paws with coin just to have anything brought up. That certain members of the Council - I shall not name names here - are bought and sold, either with influence or coin, is not a surprising thing. As I said, we wish to make our position known, in our own words, from our own mouths, and - " the cougar's mod brightens considerably at the sight of Rogna - "as such will take the royal up on his offer. We have come here in peace, bearing no weapons and making no more fuss than is absolutely necessary for us to make sure our words are heard."

"Our friend sir rat is right in that our previous concerns were addressed by good King Good himself in the previous week's court - which is why we are here today, to present our other argument. Everyone is aware that we are due to be evaluated shortly by at least one of the Creators' representatives, in order to determine our capability for self-determination of who we are, and whether we can exist apart from our collective parents. Squabbling over inheritance due, as both we and Cliffside are guilty of having done, is the best way to dishearten them as to the fact in dispensing it at all. We should be spending it on ourselves, all beings of Promise. We should be showing the Creators that we plan to do so, and have the collective will, as beings who all originated from the Ark, to see it through. Yet the exact opposite has happened."

Siyu stands up then, it doesn't look as if things are going to turn violent. He'll try to pick his way over towards the exit, a glance back at Rogna, he'll take it from here, the Good at least can speak for the crown. He swishes on out, getting the gist of the argument they're making now.

Cedric knows full well he's not as well-versed politically as most of the other beings in ths room, and decides that he just doesn't have enough information at hand to speak on the matter. The others seem to have it well in hand as is, though it doesn't prevent him from pondering the situation to himself and staying to watch the outcome, sprouting peculiar green and purple markings in his fur as he considers the situation.

Kalt flicks her ears gently as she whispers down to Angus before straightening her posture as she looks over to the protesters. "I get that you are havin' trouble an' such findin' noble folk that you feel represent you an' such... But ain't that part of politics an' all eh? You gotta go an' rub some elbows an' convince'em you're speakin' right, not just run an' say they ain't fit to represent you an' all..." She does dip her head though for a moment as she gathers her thoughts before she takes a deep inhale and looks back to them. "... If'n you're expectin' us to not go arguin' with cliffside an' such then, I think you may be wantin' to stop in their council chambers first an' such."

Angus glares at the protesters for a bit, folding the letter back up and placing it on the surface in front of him as he nods to Kalt, before she makes the first comment that jumps to his mind. "She has a point you know." He mutters, looking to Kalt before he turns back to them. "Even if you convinced us that doesn't mean that Cliffside will outright agree."

Rogna listens to all of the speakers. "Now now, while cliffside does seem to enjoy a good squabble they are reasonable, especially when it comes to their own well being. This is an excellent topic to discuss with them, after it has been discussed amongst our own. It is not these concerned speakers job to speak to the nation of cliffside on behalf of their beloved sweetwater. Now what arguements could we place to them that would convince them of this course of action, as opposed to the alternatives?" The hippo stands firm and looks about the room, trying to lead this debate into productivity.

Cassidy frowns slightly. She wasn't able to catch of a glimpse of the letter at the time, but now that Angus has set it down... She reaches out to snatch it up with deft fingers, her ever eager curiosity driving her onward even as she looks back towards the protestors. "And good luck getting Cliffside to agree to much!" She snickers softly, shrugigng her shoulders.

"All beings, no matter where they hail from, certainly must wish to have ownership of the soil they walk upon," Brita replies, standing firm. "If the magisterium cannot see past our past conflicts to at least work on this with everyone else on Promise, then perhaps we do indeed deserve to be ruled. Whatever the case, a week ago we penned a missive to those who think alike in Cliffside - if all goes according to plan, they, too, should shortly be making the same petition that I am currently expressing to you." She turns to her followers. "I think we've been sufficiently heard, thanks to a Good here. Maybe it's time we leave..."

"Or maybe not. You lot still have a number of charges to answer for, breaking and entering amongst them."

Kalt frowns as the guards begin to talk of charges, shuffling gently as she looks to Angus first, before turning her attention to Rogna. "Sir, if'n it'd not be too much... M'thinkin' these folks did this with the best intentions an' all, havin' the guards goin' an' takin'em in won't be makin' anyone look good." Her hopes for the hippo to echo her opinion high, as that's the only real way she sees the guards listening...

Angus frowns once more as he watches the situation, tapping a finger as he eyes Kalt as well. "Would hate to see so many beings arressted at once." He murmurs a bit as he smiles.

Rogna looks to the guards and says "Who was that? If you know who did it, why haven't you spoken to your peers about this issue sooner my fine being? All the guards I asked weren't quite sure of how these folks all got inside. We cannot rightfully hold them all or punish them all, this is a place the public is encouraged to speak their mind on issues of concern, and while they are unexpected I cannot rightfully believe all of them were involved in the opening of a door they were not authorized to. There are simply too many."

There's some very quiet mumbling at Rogna's order, but no one dares to contradict a relative of the King. After all, the guard is not quite trained to let those whom they see as criminals get off scot-free. As the protesters quietly and peacefully file out of the council chamber, Brita steps up to Rogna with her empty hands outstretched.

"They're not wrong, Sir. We have indeed broken some law today...but I did put them up to it. It is only right, then, that I bear the consequences in their stead."

Rogna looks to the guards and then to the woman and sighs. "Your case will of course be heard and decided upon, but of course for now, as you have admitted to a crime you should be taken to the guard station for questioning and hold until that happens. I do not feel the penalty would be very high, but it is not my place to cast ultimate judgement upon you."

Well, the situation seems to have been resolved without much difficult, so the badger sees no reason to linger around here any longer. Things turned out a little bit less interesting than he would have thought, but no matter... he managed to at least discern some valuable information about what's happening regarding the creators and their offer. Cedric rises from his seat and heads for the exit.

Kalt nods respectfully as the head woman offers herself up, it -was- the proper way to satisfy both parties really. She takes a step back and looks down to Angus as she gives a slight smile. "Figurin' that's the call that the council's done for the day eh?" Her tail flicks then as she looks at Cassidy and narrows her eyes. "An' are you followin' me round?"

Angus sighs a little in relief as he looks up to Kalt and nods, standing up as he eyes his cousin a bit. "I do hope that the meeting is over, as you still have to tell me how you managed to hurt your shoulder like that." He comments, nodding a bit as he takes the letter back from Cassidy and smiles a bit.

Cassidy peers at Kalt, brow raised. "Nooo? I am a noble, you know. It's proper that I attend court business like this. I didn't even know you were here until you stepped forward, honestly! Why?" She frowns a little at the accusing question. "If anything I'd be following Angus around!" She folds her hands behind her back, head tilted to the side.
