Going where the commanding officer is.<br> <br>And so the unit spreads out across the city.... At the docks...<br> <br>Following Rainer to the docks, Thelergramor tries to excercise restraint. Attempts to be subtle. So, instead of running up on every person looking to board a vessel and forcefully strip-searching them for creator tech, he turns to Rainer: "Any ideas? Aside from stand here and gawk at these beings? I mean, I'd start with the beggars, if there are any." Glances around, looking for anyone being strange. That is, all the signs of one not used to their current body. Standing 'incorrectly', speaking strange, all that good stuff.<br> <br>Rainer's stance hasn't changed since they set out: he's still resting his head back against his folded arms, eyes half-lidded like he's apt to nod off to slumberland at any moment. "Not a bad idea, you can start with that. I was thinking it'd be worth a checking if anyone's booked passage today, that'd narrow it down, right? Not going to be many ships only getting ready to set out this late in the day, at least..."<br> <br>Kalt changes her course to follow after the main group, figuring her chances of -not- getting attacked greater that was, as she begins to walk around the outskirts of the Docks. The Vixen taking the chance on her way to dirty her fur with what she could get her hands on so as to look a bit more poor as she then starts interacting with the people around her. "P-Pardon, m'hatin' to beg but you ain't happenin' to be knowin' where I could be chancin' to find a way to be earnin' some from anyone who could be willin' to let a wounded go workin' for'em?" Taking careful steps to try and make her prosthetic arm look like it's siezing up, or just plain of poor quality as she pushes through the crowds, continuing to speak. "I-I ain't nuttin' but a good person, needin' to be gettin' a new arm fleshcrafted, so I can g-go workin' again!" Naturally, the residents would be well aware that a being with a prosthetic arm is more than capable for work, instead the vixen was hoping to play in a creator with the technology's desire to help someone... Hopefully.<br> <br>Of all the beings, they all look fairly... normal... Well, as normal as beings get, with a wide variety of social strata being present. However, a mindful Thele takes notice of a short pudgy little beaver waiting in line to board a ship. He has no clan symbol on display, but does not walk with the usual signs of an apostate. The short, pudgy little guy... Apostate, walking about with none of their usual shame. Nor the pride that a few exibit." As one who usually doesn't care about this stuff, the wolf is somewhat surprised by the fact that he noticed at all. "...Worth looking into?" Trying really hard to not jump to his usual irrational behavior and tackle the beaver, and taking notice of Kalts approach to the problem, Thel hands off his coat and shirt to Rainer. Who may or may not take them, depending on his reaction to the plan. "See... I'm already all messed up, broken and wounded... I go over there, doubled over in pain, start asking for crowns... See where I'm going with this? Either he won't have any. At all. Or, he'll give too much." Horrible plan. Not everyone is charitable, even when they have the coin. "What do you think?"<br> <br>"Oof!" Rainer barely manages to get his arms under the clothing shoved against him before it ends up on the ground. Looking a little disoriented, he stands there hunched over Theler's garments blinking up at the other lupine until the explanation is complete, and only then straightens. "Well, alright, but failing that... trip him up and try to nick something off him, discretely." He cants his head and puts on a playful grin. "Sally said he oughtta have some tech on him, right?"<br> <br>Rainer gives Thelergramor a head start before he aims his snout in Kalt's direction and lets out a series of whistles, beckoning her over with a flicking motion of the head, if-slash-when he gets her attention.

Tis a fine summer evening, when Sally gathers her forces. She faces Cassidy directly, "Have your scouts spread out. The target's a subtle one. Flesh sculpting is a creator pass time, and this one thinks he, or she? makes a better being than we do. They've gone full native and have vanished off the map, so to speak. This is in violation of creator and local law. The only break we have is that, so far as can be told, they're still wearing their bit of creator technology, though it's likely under their clothes."

Cassidy rubs the chin of her mask, glancing over the others. "As she said, spread out, keep your heads low, and see what we can turn up. Look for anyone that is out of place. If you question anyone, speak of things only a native would know. If they get it wrong, pretend like they're right and monitor them til we can group together." She looks towards the major, hoping that was a sound directive.

Kalt snaps to a salute as she looks to Cassidy and Sally, the Vixen's tail swishing slowly as she clears her throat. "Should we go challangin'em if'n they try to run from us an' such?" Her usual heavy armor absent today, as she wore a baggy brown shirt with a couple patches on it, and a pair of brown pants that were torn near the end. Perfect for appearing a little more down trodden, her wooden arm giving it that nice extra kick as well!

Sally flicks her tail, jingling as she draws out an egg shaped device, "We've been given exactly one of these," she advises as she slowly and methodically coaxes it into action. An image appears above it, a creator, thin, lanky, male, 'Here's his likeness, as far as the creator records go, for what it's worth, which is almost nothing, however! We can ask for him, in the guise of being concerned for his well-being. That gives us a great cover to operate under openly without drawing public ire. But if you do think you've found him, first thing you need to do is inform the rest of us. One creator against one soldier is too risky. If he's willing to break one rule, who knows how many others he may have already broken along the way? This is not optional. We're not here to be heroes, we're here to get it done, right, without mistakes."

Rainer puffs out his cheeks and blows a discontent sigh. "Whaddowe know that a Creator's not gonna? ...anyway y'think we need a signal so we can call the rest over if we find someone fishy? I can do a pretty good Hunting Jarl, check this out--!" He hooks a finger from his right hand into the right corner of his mouth and pulls it to its limit, then does the same with his pinky from his left hand and his left nostril and starts making a sound that's... nowhere near to what a hunting jarl sounds like, but if y'heard that racket again later at least you'd know who it was coming from.

Cassidy nods at Sally as she looks to Kalt. "Right. If they try to run, tail them. But do not try to make a move on your own. That goes for all of us. Try to find them, watch them, and we all regroup, then we can make our move. We'll do this properly, as Sally said."

Natska rubs the palm of her hand against her face, ear twitching. "I think that would spook him too much, Rainer," she comments dryly. The jaguar's tail flicks. "So you heard the Major. One Creator of unknown appearance, possibly smuggling tech, but hopefully he's not perfectly natural with whatever shape he's got." She pauses, and grins. "Like a new kitsune, yea? Hit the streets, keep your eyes peeled. I'll cover overwatch from the roofs, if you find something, wave me down." SHe pauses, then looks at Cassidy. "Or the captain, if you want to, too?"

Thelergramor scratches his head, slightly concerened about what he heard. "So, we're looking for a creator, who doesn't look like a creator?" Thel shrugs, glances around at the others in the unit, hoping someone has an idea on how to find him. Rainers signal is going to be -really- easy to remember. Nodding to Cassidy and Natska: "Alright. Don't grab or alert him, yes? Find anything, tail him and get the rest of us? I can do that."

Adolphus hangs in the back, looking around. The hippo wearing his mail and leather, warhammer upon his back. Dressed in a field uniforn, he does look ever bit a professional soldier. It's a clean uniform after all, not one that's been mucking about in the forest for a week, so it gives the hint that he's an officer. That is if being a hippo didn't blare that out loudly. "A flesh crafted creator, into a being?" he rumbles. "I recall the Merchant saying the creators outlawed such things. I wonder where this creator got it." he muses aloud. "So they refused to give up their tech when they came on world. That is a violation. Are we turning this creator over, or are they simply going to dissappear?" He rumbles and nods, "If anyone else has priest training, pay attention to the old speech. They certinally don't have our dialect down without their trasnlators."

Sally nods lightly, "You got it." She holds out the egg towards Cassidy, "You are the CO for this operation. Are you proficient with creator artifacts?" she asks, "I'll show you how to call the sky fortress. Once he's detained, they're already waiting to grab him, but don't make the call until after you've asked him a few questions, if you understand me. We want his information, and be sure to look thoroughly for any of his toys. They'll want those back, but we can't be certain he hasn't dropped them already. Roger?"

Cassidy reaches out to take the device, giving a little shake of her head. "No, not with my current soul gems, anyway. If I need to use it, I can swap them out, though. I'm keeping it on hand. I understand. Like Natska said! We look for someone that doesn't seem entirely comfortable in their new skin. Look at the way they stand on their paws, or treat their fur and ears. Look at their mannerisms and dress, see if they match up."

Kalt remains at attention, looking between the group as she awaits the command to go ahead and dispurse into their search. Making sure her hand axe is hidden beneath her shirt on her back, so as to not be in the line of sight, and ready incase she needs it.

Rainer snaps his fingers and flashes Adolphus a beaming grin. "Hey, that's right! Ha ha, if it's anything like the ones from yesterday, he'll give himself away in a single sentence!" With a spring in his step he trots over to Theler's side, swinging out an arm to place it over the shoulders of his fellow canid. "You don't mind if I tag along with you, right? Besides, if there's a bunch of us out there strikingup conversations one-on-one with folks, we're gonna stick out more."

Thelergramor nods, removes his mask, hat, scarf and chainmail. Pulls his torn, bloodied coat back on after. "Should try not to stand out, right? Aside from the blood... Well, I can blend in with the beggars, at least. My experience, the beggars know everything." Removes most of his weapons, keeps his knife with him, concealed. Looking to Rainer: "...Not my place to say if you come with me, Rainer. I've no problem with it, though, uh if anyone has orders for where I should start looking?"

Sally rubs her nose, "If the perp remains hidden, you could appeal to his sense of desperation. Anyone willing to change their skin to another species is probably hoping to fit in as them. I leave it to you, Captain. I trust we'll have this taken care of swiftly and without any reason for news to spread around the city."

Adolphus gives a nod, and knuckles towards Cassidy. "All right, I suppose we break into squads and begin looking. Good bet they don't have any crowns, or if they do they might be off or funny looking. Dressed funny, or very limited, and talking funny." he rumbles. "So a grid pattern search" he inquires.

Fenris is already pounding the streets, huffing and puffing in the guise of a slightly overweight cougar in farmers clothes. "Scuse, me!" he asks people as they pass, "I'm lookin' fer a snipe! Fella said he'd pay me 20,000 crowns if I caught it for him!" The agitated puma looks crestfallen as most people just snicker at him, the snipe hunt being a classic joke played on simple farmers visiting the city. "Come on," he cries out in the throng, "I'll split the pay! I just need a little help is all!" The disguised tiger keeps an ayey out for anyone not in on the joke. They might be a good place to start.

Rainer tightens his arm around Thelergramor, pulling the other wolf in closer, his great big smile now brandished upon the Mission Commander. "We're going to check out the docks. I reckon if he's on the lamb, the first thing he's gonna wanna do is get as far away from the last place he's known to be as fast as he can."

Natska spends a moment adjusting the smaller crystals on her pendant, then nods at Cassidy. "I can handle it for you if you want, Captain," she offers with a smile. "Or maybe Fenris will turn up somewhere. But, there's a hunt on." She salutes the officers, then strolls out of the manor and down Firmament's streets far enough to get out of site before she takes to the roof tops, watching the crowds below and trying to keep an eye on the other members of the unit.

Thelergramor blinks as Rainer pulls him in, any tighter and he'd be in pain. Damn rib... "...Rainer might be right, on that one." Not wanting to act without orders, the wolf waits, glancing at the departing Natska.

Kalt shrugs and turns to leave, the Vixen's tail swaying behind her as she taps her chin. "M'figurin' I'll go given' a check out by the saint's square an' such. Figurin' if'n they snuck this far, they gonna be wantin' to see the good parts of town an' such... An' if'n that ain't it, tryin' to go sellin' some of their stuff for crown." A quick nod from her as she departs to make her way to the saint's square.

Adolphus flicks his ears? Someone actually belives in a snipe hunt? The huge hippo can't possibly know that it's not a unique idea to Promise. The fact that he hears someone bellowing about it...and in need of coin catches his attention. He moves on over towards the crying fellow. Giving a little finger motion to two privates with him to casually surround the cougar.

Cassidy offers the device to Natska, smiling. "I'll trust it to you, then! You'll be better with it than I!" She reaches up to adjust her mask before brushing off the sleeves of her dress. "I'll start... With the main concourse, I suppose. See what I can see!"

Rainer gives Theler a not-entirely gentle shove to get him started, then removes his arm from the other wolf so he can fold it behind his head, doing much the same with his other arm, and reclining into the brace they create. "Well, it's a long shot, but it's as good a place to start as any other, right? If it were -me- I'd just walk right out the main gate and off into the hills, but I doubt a Creator could live like that."

Cassidy adjusts the red ribbon on the front of her dress and looks over the others. "You know what we're doing. Spread out, make sure we cover all the districts! Let's go." She turns and strides off towards the main concourse. She's content to stick to herself while there, though, simply looking about the crowds for anyone that looked like they didn't belong.

Adolphus sticks to the flank, keeping his squad close, following Cassidy and keeping his eyes and his ears open to wahtever might happen. Going where the commanding officer is.

And so the unit spreads out across the city.... At the docks...

Following Rainer to the docks, Thelergramor tries to excercise restraint. Standing 'incorrectly', speaking strange, all that good stuff.

Rainer's stance hasn't changed since they set out: he's still resting his head back against his folded arms, eyes half-lidded like he's apt to nod off to slumberland at any moment. "Not a bad idea, you can start with that. I was thinking it'd be worth a checking if anyone's booked passage today, that'd narrow it down, right? Not going to be many ships only getting ready to set out this late in the day, at least..."

Kalt changes her course to follow after the main group, figuring her chances of -not- getting attacked greater that was, as she begins to walk around the outskirts of the Docks. Hopefully.

Of all the beings, they all look fairly... normal... Well, as normal as beings get, with a wide variety of social strata being present. However, a mindful Thele takes notice of a short pudgy little beaver waiting in line to board a ship. He has no clan symbol on display, but does not walk with the usual signs of an apostate. No shame, or even defiance, as if it were just so normal for him to be there, curious.

Thelergramor taps Rainer on the shoulder, whispers, more or less. "Rainer, that beaver over their? "What do you think?"

"Oof!" Rainer barely manages to get his arms under the clothing shoved against him before it ends up on the ground. Looking a little disoriented, he stands there hunched over Theler's garments blinking up at the other lupine until the explanation is complete, and only then straightens. "Well, alright, but failing that... trip him up and try to nick something off him, discretely." He cants his head and puts on a playful grin. "Sally said he oughtta have some tech on him, right?"

Rainer gives Thelergramor a head start before he aims his snout in Kalt's direction and lets out a series of whistles, beckoning her over with a flicking motion of the head, if-slash-when he gets her attention.

The beaver, entirely unaware of the attention on him so far as can be seen, shuffles forward in line as the next being steps up onto the ship and a new being is being interrogated and relieved of their money for a chance to take a cruise to wherever the boat is going.

Thelergramor nods to Rainer, sets his plan in motion. Quickly takes his knife, slashes his palm. Not deep enough to cause any real damage. Rubs blood onto his bandages after turning away from the beaver. Doesn't need them seeing that part. Doubles over, hands over his wounds. Now shirtless, the bloodstained bandages are quite visible. Limping, moving slowly towards the beaver and the line of beings, the wolf intentionally pokes at his rib, causing a pained expression. Arriving near the line, he steps close to the beaver, before croaking out in the most defeated voice possible: "Alms. Alms <cough> for the infirm?"

Kalt perks her ears at the whistle, and turns to begin making her way over, looking to Rainer, before over to Thel as she lowers her voice. "Findin' one are ya? Here..." The Vixen reaching up to fiddle with her prosthetic for a moment, loosening it slightly so it hangs limply at her side, before following after Thel as she'd barge her way infront of the being talking to the crew. "C-Couldn't happen' to be goin' to Shralesta would y-ya? M'beggin' you to let me with! I a-ain't got nuttin' here!" The Vixen intending to stall the beaver, and find out where the ship was going.

Rainer stands back and enjoys the show, trying not to look -too- amused. He just can't stop that tail from wagging, though.

The group reacts to the sudden intrusion, most muttering dark words about the disruption of their dreary business. A bright eyed sailing otter tosses a 1/2 crown coin towards the beggar, but moves right along, whistling all the way with all the cheerfulness his ilk are known for.

The beaver looks confused! Suddenly two beings have bumrushed him with requests, "Um," he says, glancing at the two of them, "I only have enough to get one ticket. No money. I am sorry." His words are a little forced. Not wrong, just formal, like someone raised in a university.

Thelergramor catches the 1/2 coin. Cheap bastard. Glances at Kalt, and back to the beaver. Then, begins to cough. Coughs several times, a pained groan as the wolf intentionally presses a hand against his cracked rib. Lowers his head, stumbles in as realistic a fashion as possible into the beaver. Grabs at him with his non-bleeding hand, falls to his knees, drags his hand across his body looking for anything strange. Should he find anything, would call it out to Kalt. Otherwise, drops completely to the ground, unless supported by the beaver. Or womeone else.

"Ah please, you're havin' to go an' understand mister, I ain't intendin' no harm or none I just... I went hearin' they got Creator stuffs there that can patch up broken folk with new limbs! If'n I could go an' get a bit of that, I could be havin' my arm back, an' not havin' a useless piece of wood instead! I could go workin' again, what with all the work in the shanties now that they are goin' an' makin' all the buildins made of stone! Would be right as rain to go back to my Masonry!" A few damnable lies, but she'd see how they did. Her gaze flicking to Thel as she checks to see if he caught anything.

The beaver looks somehow both interested and yet frightened when he's bumped into and clumsily hops backwards. He isn't holding much, aside from a coin pouch dangling from his belt and a round drinking flask joining it. "You should see a physician," he advises with an uncertain tone, eyes darting to Kalt, and back at the injured being, "Um. They do not have every thing. Not as much as you give them credit for. It is nice to..." he trails a bit as he tries to nudge forward and not lose his place in line.

Thelergramor didn't find anything. Remains collapsed, writhing slightly, for a few moments. Glances at Kalt from the ground, mouthing 'not our guy' to her. Hopefully she caught that. Stands after a few moments, and, despite his feelings on only getting half a crown, thanks that guy. "Thank you, sir." And while he wants to complain about the rest... He restrains himself, passing by Kalt as if he doesn't know her. Heads back to Rainer. "Not our guy, had nothing worth mentioning on him. I think." Keeps up the ruse, still bent over, clutching his chest. Doesn't need that guy coming back and getting mad about being cheated. Hold out a hand to Rainer. "What about you? Alms for the infirm?" Thel sounds dead serious...

Kalt sighs dejectedly, the Vixen nodding slightly to the merchant as she clears the way for him. "... Aye... Thank you sir..." Proceeding to turn then after Thel shambles off, making for the opposite direction as she eyes Rainer and Thel, not approaching them yet.

Rainer eyeballs Theler, lifts one eyebrow nice and high... and shoves his handfull of clothes over. "Uh, here y'go, bud. Hope they fit~" Stepping around the bloodied wolf, he mumbles as he makes his way off along the dock, "Check around if anyone's purchased a private boat today, after that I'm outta ideas..." He repeats the thought for Kalt when he overtakes her.

The beaver's eyes settle on the vixen. Hating to see her go, loving to watch her go. His attention gets bumped, literally, as the being behind him nudges him to move forward on the line.

Thelergramor shakes his head, pulling his shirt and coat back on. Shrugging, he asks: "Any idea where we'd find the, uh, what are they called..?" Thinking for a moment. "Harbourmaster, that it?"

There are several army men, town guard assigned, patrolling the area. The closes to official 'harbormaster' would be the head of the sailor's guild in town, not that far away.

Kalt shakes her head slightly to Rainer as she speaks. "If'n he bought a boat already, then he's gone. Better gettin' an' lettin' the others know, or just keepin' our eyes out. D-Sweetwater Militia. Looking for a criminal, think he might have tried to skip town buying a small boat for himself. Any purchases on the books today?"

Thelergramor almost facepalms after following Rainer. "Yes, Sweetwater militia. As he said." Thel shakes his head, waits for answers. Glances around, hands going to his pockets.

The Sailor's guild, also known as the Water Clan's headquarters. The otter behind the desk looks up as a clumsy offering of power is given, "Eh? Don't much mind who you're with if you know this is my docks and I run a nice clean ship," he says, puffing his chest out, "Hey, Smitty, get today's sales!"
