In perperation for more then just a few would be adventurers the exercise was being hold out in an open field on the outskirts of Firmament. Dummies had been set up, tables constructed holding multiple wooden impliments, while the area was divided into three sections for the different training courses today.

Angus himself was standing in front of what looked to be a few militia recruits, arms crossed as he asks them if everything was prepared, waiting to see who would show up.

Bite sways and stretchehs as she arrives late to her teaching position, a smile and grin on her face. "SO sssweetie you need me to teach offensive magics, let's see who I'm actually teaching this to! I can teach children at the orphanage how to make dirt problems for their caretakers I can teach some 'would be' adventurers!"

Valor had FINALLY gotten that damn dye out of his coat and was back in public! Now he approached where Bite was teaching, a few books of magic tucked into his bag. He'd been studying for a while but never practiced it so he wanted to learn from a better teacher. As he approaches he introduces himself, tipping his wide brimmed hat and being polite to Miss Bite. "I heard you were the one teaching offensive magic."

Rainer is dressed to the nines in Lightbringer regalia today, and he doesn't look particularly happy about it as he sulks in Angus' general direction. "What was wrong with my normal outfit! People ought to recognize me by reputation alone, anyway." He tugs at his sleeves and fusses with his badge, huffing. "No one's going to pay attention to my dashing good looks with all these bangles and doodads hanging off me. I'll just have to make sure they remember me by name."

Hartford stumps onto the field, excited for a bit of training away from the manor house. He adjusts his House Blackback Tabard and rubs an antler nervously. He's not really sure where to go here.

Cassidy slinks up aside Angus, dressed in her still-oversized black scaled robe, though her mask and hood are down. She even has her lightbringer badge on her person today! "Hello, Angus. What's all this? Hosting a training session, huh?" She peers around, surveying the area before smiling. "I like that idea!"

Unaffiliated with any official military unit, a very lightly armored badger in not much else but a white cloth tunic, tan pants and boots enters the training area, hefting a long spear over his left shoulder as he makes his way to the front, pushing quietly past a few of the trainees. He doesn't seem like he's come to learn anything, and his dress and weapon make it unclear as to what his skillset might be. He lifts a hand in greeting to the others.

A mumble, a flick of Flora's tails as she slinks into the area, silently observing the happenings and not seeming all-too-dressed for combat... In fact, she seems to be wearing her high-class clothing, and it soon becomes apparent she prefers sticking to the sidelines.

As beings started to arrive Angus looks up and gives them a nod of greeting before sending the milita scattering to their posts. "Good evening everyone, and welcome to what I hope will be a recurring training session. Today we will be focusing on unarmed combat, melee combat, and Offensive magics. For your teachers we have Rainer, Bite, and myself teaching what we respectfully know. So whenever you are ready please head to the designated areas in front of your instructers." With that angus moves off to stand over at his location.

each area was easily marked and noticable, over near Bite there were a line of Dummies standing at attention for those wanting to practic magic, while over near Rainer was a table stocked with wooden blades and dummies to attack. While over at Angus' station there was just a ring etched into the dirt.

Bite awaits all of her recruits, before she smiles and says "Alright! We'll start with what I started with, fire is the easiest magic to weaponize. Fire hurts, it is also the most dangerous so be sure you have a firm grasp of how to select controled enviroments for your offensive before you employ it. Don't light a golem on fire while it's holding your friend, that is a no no. Observe!" she hisses before she turns around and starts to read out a well written and practiced spell.

Rainer jolts to alertness from unbuttoning his jacket when his name is announced, putting on a big ol', friendly ol' smile and waving to the assembled crowd, and begins beckoning to draw folks over as everyone starts squaring off with the field they've come to train in. "Right this way. You might think you know everything there is to know about armed combat, but let me ask you THIS! Did you know that an sharp blade has a thousand uses and counting? That's Adventurer Rule number Eight!"

Hartford grins and tramps heavily over to where Angus waits, carefully discarding his House-issue weaponry. "Hullo, Lord Solacious," he says in his slow, deep voice, "Mind if I work with you a bit today?" The big stag removes his beloved tabard and folds it carefully before setting it with his other equipment. "Don't want to get my uniform dirty," he says, standing to show his bare, skunk patterned torso.

Cassidy eyes Angus over and flashes a grin. "What're you teaching, then, Angus?" She peers at the ring and raises her brow. "Because that looks rather like a sparring ring, if I'm not mistaken. I might have to go a round with you later. See if my cousin has been slacking off lately." But as it seems Hartford was stepping up first, she looks around and approaches Rainer, folding her hands behind her back as she watches and listens.

Cedric starts to ponder why it was he even came down here today, and for now, just stands off to the side to watch as he leans back against a wall for the time being.

A soft mumble, a tailflick as Flora moves over to Cedric's spot, silently looking. "Flora... Flora isn't sure why Flora's here, actually. Flora just kindof wandered around," she mumbles after a moment of hesitation, silently observing everyone.

Angus chuckles a bit as he looks up at Hartford, giving him a tip of his hat. "Yes you may, you wish to learn a little bit about unarmed combat then?" He asks before switching his gaze to Cassidy. "If you wish well, then you can be next after I see what Hartford can do."

As the training gets underway stations are set up near the training areas just in case someone gets hurt, maned by either a volunteer or another being of the militia trained in medical skills, fireblossom tea would also be offered to any who asked.

Rainer fixes Cassidy with a big, toothy grin. "Got your attention, eh? How about this!" He draws one of his own two swords, driving the blade into the soil that it can stand upright on its own... and then he leans over, planting his elbow atop the hilt. And there he stands, brandishing that "aren't I clever" smile at the vixen, until he then begins gesturing back and forth between himself and his hilt-propped elbow with his free hand, to make certain what he's demonstrating is really getting driven home. "Eh? Eh? Pretty clever, right?"

Hartford lays his ears back in embarassment at the attention. "I'm not real good at hand to hand, Sir," he admits, "They don't really teach much of that to us guards, but I'll do my best!" The skunk-striped deer finds a spot in the fighting ring and takes up some kind of boxing pose.

Cassidy raises her brow, a smirk crossing her face as she draws her own blade, tossing it up in the air in an ark, letting the dazzling purple blade flash and gleam in the sunlight before it comes down and she catches it in her left hand. Two can play that game! "Also good for entertainment."
