As the group enters the encampment though, they are quickly faced with the second wave of Bandits, wearing thick armor and weilding shields stolen from the military a group of eight charge at the Freeswords, while four musket men stay and ready their weapons to fire while kneeling behind a series of empty barrels about thirty feet from the group. Garma's smoke bomb is beyond needed as the musketeers finds themselves coughing and blinded, leaving them unable to shoot. Angus' shot taking out one of the armored bandits as it hits him in the chest, leaving the remaining seven still on the charge for the group with their swords held at the ready.

Kalt's quick to leap into the fray of them first to help prevent all seven landing on the group, her shield intercepting one blow as another misses her arm by an inch, and yet another is left to bounce off a reinforced thigh plate and chain skirt. The fourth bandit however manages to score a hit as his blade cuts into her the back of her left shoulder, leaving a slight fleshwound behind. The Vixen quick to turn on a heel and drive her spear through his chest before abandoning the weapon to draw her longsword, letting the creator fire light up along the blade.

The remaining bandits descend upon Selena, Garma, and Angus, swinging their swords down in an attempt to try and take care of the back supports for the assault!

Selena manages to parry one of the assailant's blades with a bat of an arm and an evidently strong bit of earth magic, a thin skin of stone cracking under the force and falling away as the wolfess quickly spreads out heavy mud arround the group in an attempt to harry future attacks, her elemental flitting back to the group and igniting the being that had attacked her. "I want to know why you think you have no alternative to this." The wolfess pleads the being in front of her, zounding a little faint - though it's not too easy to tell if it's from exertion or something else, beings that have worked with her in past should know.

Cassidy pulls her dagger free from the bandit on the stable roof, the flame flickering out once it's no longer in contact with an enemy. She flips her dagger around in her hand, taking it in an ice-pick grip, she hops over into the encampment itself, trusting that her companions would be fine. For now, she had those hostages to find! Casting her eyes around, she sets off, keeping to the shadows in case any bandits had stayed behind.

As the fiends come for his precious cannon he deflects a blow with his armor, or perhaps his other armor, or perhaps his shell, he's not sure, the important thing is there assailants far too close to blow up, time for the next best thing. He readies up a fighting stance and throws a good old one two punch right at their face.

Angus doesn't even bother getting up, instead he just rolls as the blade comes his way. The paths up to the area the unit specified in their request for aid isn't too difficult to traverse, mainly leading individuals through a heavily tree filled area via worn down foot paths, before reaching a large series of trees that had been cut down to form a large barricade before a open field. The field beyond is rather short, at maybe a mile and a half in length before coming up to a make shift encampment surrounded by a wooden walls with spikes sticking out from then. Thankfully, the night and foilage of the approach is keeping everyone hidden from any guards along the walls at the moment.

Close to where the foot paths all merge near the only break in the make shift barricade, is a German Shepherd with a Captains insignia upon his tabard, and Kalt with her heavy armor and light bringers emblem on her shoulder. Both pressed against the barricade while awaiting the groups arrival.

After the last 'incident' in the pass, there's little way Selena would even consider missing a second call out. Approaching the shepherd and fox, she offers a half-wave, not raising her hand too high to avoid attention or being noticed by anything else that may be in the pass.

"Kalt, I'm not surprised to see you here. Did you or Angus manage to turn up anything about that odd emblem you found the last time?" she asks curiously.

It was kind of hard to tell just when Cassidy arrived on the scene, but it was probably rather recently. Maybe she didn't even know, herself! Stepping from the tree line and very nearly the night itself, the masked fennec slinks up towards the group, coming to a sudden halt. Unlike Kalt, her own Lightbringer emblem was not on display. "Good evening, good evening. This is the right side of the field, yes?"

Garma rolls along the path with his trusty cannon, following those who would take the path before him as he keeps an eye on his surroundings. No need for an ambush or some sly business to go down on the way is there? As he approaches the destination he spots a few recognizable faces, taking note of who exactly he would be grouped with and trying to decide who to stick around. "Hey, you wanted some assistance right?" he says, not at all showing shame as he flexes for those present.

Angus Walks up quickly, ignoring that his leg was still aching a little bit from the bolt he took a few days ago. But there was no way he was going to miss this, not after he had been here for the last attack. The fox already had his musket out, bayonet afixed on the barrel as he steps up to the group and grins. "A nice evening for a raid is it not?" He asks, as his eyes dart over their surroundings in case of ambush.

An arrow sinks into the dark earth as a kit fox seemingly floats from the treeline, his cloak billowing behind him revealing the air that's stopping gravity from affecting him adversely. His shoulder seems well enough, a wing still jutting out of his back, kept there to avoid injury while his wound heals. "I've got a score to settle." He growls.

Kalt shrugs gently to Selena as she smirks. "Nope, ain't rightfully heard nuttin' bout'em till the fella's here went callin' for aid an' all." The Vixen giving a nod to the others and a slight chuckle at Garma's flexing, before giving a nod to Angus as the Vixen pulled herself from the side of the Barricade and picked up her spear.

The German shepherd looks over those present for a moment with a slight huff before giving a slow nod of his head. "You'll all work I suppose. Relax as well, they can't see us behind their own barricades. Though I will say the idea to funnel anyone through one entrance is a clever idea of their own... Anyways, I'm Captain Heron Payne of his Majesties forces. My unit is tasked with wiping this threat off the map, and a little extra help doesn't hurt, as my main force is currently dealing with their scouting camp." The Captain pushing himself forward, before peeking around the entrance and down at the walled encampment. "Thick walls made from the trees around here, but we've a plan to get through that. Two of my more stealthy boys are going out to set up some barrels along those walls, and on my signal they'll blow a nice big hole for you all."

His body turning back to the group slowly as he smiles. "I won't lie, this will be dangerous. But, we're offering a high pay, and any treasure you loot from the encampment is your own, save for anything with military inscriptions upon it. Now, any questions?"

Selena tsks quietly. "Well, that's a shame. It would've been helpful." She notes - another of her half-waves offered to the other familiar beings present. "Angus, it's good to see you've recovered proper. And Jera, are you feeling any better?"

That said she turns back to the Shepherd. "I heard that, Heron. Anyway - what I want to know is what we're expecting to find here." She asks - perhaps a little bluntly. "Either way, if I was expecting this to be easy I'd be out of my mind."

Cassidy gives a polite nod to Angus. He would likely recognize her, if no one else did. "Yes, I cannot imagine it will be either easy. Hopefully I won't die!" Her statement is punctuate with a quiet, hollow chuckle. "Anything we need to know in advance before heading in there? What kind of numbers we're expecting, or anything?"

Garma listens for a moment and looks to his cannon, then laughs. "Why I'm sure we could have put a hole in it with a good old mage and my cannon. So we're making multiple entrances, and going in. Wipe them out, then, take the reward?" he asks with a half smile. "Alright, if that's the job then let's go." he adds finally as he starts polishing his cannon.

Angus blinks, turning to Heron. "Wait, you're saying they have military equipment? What did they get?" He asks as he gives his cousin a nod, flashing the others a smile before he taps his chin, thinking on the plan as he eyes Garma's cannon, an idea coming to mind. "You bring any special shells with you today Garma?"

"Yeah. That's serious." Jera lands softly, into a kneeling position. He looks at Angus for a while. "Kind of Angus' new appointment to make sure all the military equipment is kept in check. The kit fox nods to Selena. "Yeah, it is. But I don't think I have it in me to take a dedication form right now."

The Captain gives a slight nod to Selena as he clears his throat gently and straightens his posture. "A fair question, and an important one. As far as we can tell, they've done a pretty damn good job of wrangling up enough bandits and low lifes to make swarming their opponents their main tactics. As such, we know for certain they took down one military supply caravan carrying two cannons, and plenty of arms and munition... As far as we can tell though, they kept the cannons up at the scouting point to use on unsuspecting caravans. Aside from that, they're going to be well armed, poorly trained, and desperate. Use your wits and your own training and you should all make it out of this... If something happens to you, I'll try to have Roger use his air magics to move in and quickly nab anyone who's too hurt. You lot may be adventurers, but that doesn't mean your expendable, and on that note neither is Roger. If you get seperated and it's too dangerous for him, you're on your own and I'm sorry about that." He gives a slight nod before clearing his throat once more. "They may have prisoners as well, we've seen some burnt carts along the paths on our way here, along with another freesword whom decided he was going to scout ahead that I've not heard from... So if you see a Ram in fancy blue leather armor, he's on your side and should be rescued, or his body treated with the due respect it deserves please."

Another short nod is givin from the Captain before he takes a step up onto the barricade, his hands readying a fire spell behind the concealment. "I'll give you a moment to prep before firing the signal... After that, it's your own dash through the field."

Kalt adjusts her armor for a moment before picking up her new tower shield and readies it infront of herself as she moves closer to the point. "I'll work at keepin' their arrows an' such on me when we're runnin up, an' let's really go workin' to not get split up an such."

Selena nods, tapping a foot on the ground for a few moments as she considers, readying herself for the incoming combat through the conjuring of her seemingly ubiquitous fire elemental. "Just let me know if you see something that I should target with the elemental. It should be able to do a good job hit and runs, but regardless - I'd still like to avoid killing anyone." She notes.

" Well, I'll stay between you and and a hard place if I can, Kalt. I'd rather not get shot full of holes; there's only so much earth magic can do."

Cassidy first draws the black and violet sword, then her silver dagger in her left hand, working her grip on them as she rolls her shoulders. "I am ready. Try not to get shot full of arrows, yourself, in the process. That would be rather unfortunate, and I might have to scold you." She taps lightly against Kalt's armour with the tip of her sword. "When we begin, I will follow."

Garma looks to Angus and laughs. "I've got all kinds of special going on with this, just give me a moment to prep something before we go on in." he says as he begins to start the process of something that will likely end in explosions. He looks amongst the group briefly as he does, a smile on his face. "I think we'll have a good time with this one! I'll keep out of your path, you'll do great."

Angus flicks his ears as he hears that there will be prisoners, crossing his arms as he thinks. "Well Garma, I have a nice target for you." He turns to both Jera and Cassidy, putting his hands on his hips. "You two think you can stir up some winds to batter at the bandits?" He asks before turning back to the Crab. "Since we have possible prisoners I'm wondering if you could try and overlap a shot on the front gate a few seconds after the explosion, give the bandits some time to rally their before hitting them hard. Sound good?"

Jera nods at Angus' order and then looks at the crab for a moment. He waves his hands in the air and then works up complex air magic to get a tailwind started, though that's taking most of his focus right now as he starts to pant a little from the effort.

The winds stir slightly, moving enough to give a strong breeze over the fields before the Captain gives a nod and throws his hands up. The prepared spell of his shoots high into the air, lighting the field and walls of the encampment for a single moment before four roaring explosions rock the ground in squence! The wooden walls facing the group left splintered as the sounds of the bandits caught in the explosions screaming carry across the night air. "Good luck!"

Kalt makes certain to not waste any time after the explosions go off, as she goes charging down into the field with her tower shield raised up high. The Vixen trying to keep at the lead of the group, while still managing to make certain they can cross the mile in a timely manner to reach the encampment.

Cassidy looks at Angus for a moment, then at Jera. "I will do what I can, but not to the point that it limits me." She closes her eyes in thought for a moment, lending a portion of her focus to assisting Jera with his magic before setting off after Kalt, being sure to remain behind.

Selena has her elemental to the air and disgorge a smoke bomb into their path to obscure the area between them and the encampment as she follows, silently berating herself for forgetting something or another before releasing a wave of refreshing water magic over the group to alleviate the charge a little.

The explosions rock the world and the screams are heard, and they're off! The crab begins to move, his load ready he will fire upon the first massing of troops he can find. "Let's get to it, we can't leave them to fend for themselves." he says as he moves.

Angus starts moving as soon as the bombs go off, trying hard not to favor his injured leg as he keeps his Musket at Waist height. "Selena, mind sending your Elemental first?" He shouts, waiting for Garma's cannon to go off as they charge.

Jera laughs and then slings his two quivers of arrows in front of him, angling them towards the bandit encampment. "Two can play at this game, Garma." He laughs, his free hand coaxing the tailwind to blow faster, and with more vigor, his fingers priming a little air magic inscribed at the bottom of his quivers, and then he unloads his makeshift arbalests, cackling a little.

The run is thankfully quiet for a good quarter of the way, save the screaming and yelling at the camp, before their own archers man what remains of the gate. Firing three crossbows at the charging group, which thankfully are deflected by the leading Kalt's shield as they work on approaching. The group soon able to see a large gathering of poorly armed and amored reactionary troops charging at the gates from the Bandit's side as well, though as a hail of arrows descend upon them, the three on marksmen that had fired at the group fall down dead, and another from the group before they angle shields up to help catch the arrows at they try to charge at the group.

Kalt and the group is getting close to them all, as she raises her spear to the ready and slows her dash to slight jog so as to let Garma fire his rounds off without running into the group, while still letting them keep momentum to break through after he fires.

Garma laughs loudly as the enemy appear to be in position, his prepped work done he lets the barrage loose upon the seeminigly hapless bandits. The explosives are powerful, and widespread, causing quite a bit of knockdown just from the impact, which seems to cloud the battlefield causing a bit of blindness for their enemies. Hopefully they didn't intend to fight back.

Selena keeps moving forwards with the rest of the group, looking forward with some measure of regret as she sends her elemental further ahead before it flings a hail of fiery projectiles through the air at the gathered beings, evidently intending to scatter them rather than anything else - though the spell's offensive potential can't be denied either. "If that isn't enough to demoralize them then I'll be surprised." She notes, a violent burst of fire erupting from the ground beneath some of the bandits as the woman casts an offensive spell of her own design - the ground in the area left scorched and red around the origin. "I don't want to kill anyone, but if they can be routed I'd rather do that."

Cassidy gives each of her weapons a little flourish as the group draws near. She's a little eager to at least see action, of the twitch of her black tail is any indication. But until they get within the walls, she is limited in what she is able to do, so she bides her time, keeping close to Kalt and watching her flank.

Angus flicks his ears as the arrows and cannon fire rain down, and he starts putting on the speed, adjusting the grip on his Musket to raise his bayonet in preperation to stick it into the nearest bandit that tries to face him head on, not wanting to risk firing in case of friendly targets.

Jera watches the devastation and then just kneels down on the floor, needing to catch his breath. He can't keep the buffeting tail wind up for much longer, though he's trying.

The cannon shots are extremely effective as they clash into the charging bandits, killing two thirds of them, before Selena's magic erupts around them and they're left falling to the ground in pain and agony before the fire arrows rain down upon them, leaving a small handfull to make a mad dash back to the encampment, jumping behind the remains of the walls before running deep into the camp.

The black tip giving a cut to Selena's arm as it passess by.

Selena curses quietly as the arrow slices her arm, the wolfess holding her spar hand over the cut and redirecting her elemental to the before unnoticed archer. "... Probably deserved that." She quips, looking back on ahead. "It might be worth taking a shot at the arche just in case." She notes to the fox - after all, her elemental can only do so much while waiting for another smoke bomb to become available. "Jera, are you alright?" She calls to the fox as he kneels down.

Cassidy decides that the group would provide a perfect diversion for drawing attention, and so Cassidy breaks away with few words. "I will get them." And with that, she steps off into the darkness, but not for long. Her eyes lock onto the archer at the stable. She planned on going in anyway, she could take him out as she went through. Angus nods to Selena as he slows himself down, before dropping to one knee and bringing his musket to his shoulder, but when he hears Cassidy call it he flicks his ears and swings his rifle over to the charging bandits, eyeing their armor as he actually planned ahead of time. He lines up the sights and takes a shot at the lead, right for their gut.

Jera gives Selena a wave. He gets to watch the scenario unfold in front of him and slides out his last weapon in his arsenal, a little throwing knife. He takes aim at the archer and throws it.

Cassidy manages to slip away just before the charging Bandit's arrive, her sneaking into the shadows unnoticed by all but the archer whom calls out! Though it doesn't matter much for him as he's soon left dead upon the ground as the combined efforts of the Fire Elemental, Jera's knife, and Cassidy's stabbing jump finds him thoroughly killed.

Free of the scything blade he then stands up and lunges forward with his bayonet at the attacker as he looks out of the corner of his eye to make sure Kalt is okay!
