"They don't just eat seeds I believe, they eat almost anything that we would eat given the chance they just like these special seeds a lot. They go nuts for them, but they're good for bringing them to one spot." The two nod and move out through the forest, trying to find a spot they like. As they find one they being to set up. "Here seems like a logical place to try." says the male as he drops a handful of seeds out in the open, before he takes a few steps back and looks to the group.<br> <br>Angus gives both Fenris and Kalt a smile as he follows the two Gophers, hands in his pokets as looks around. "Heh....reminds me of a simliar situation awhile back. With beetles the size of wagons, hopefully this doesn't go the same way as that one." He comments as he waits to see what happens.<br> <br>Alef nods lightly. "Im not sure whats going on, but if I can help I will do what I can." nodding lightly as she taps her chin.<br> <br>Kalt offers a wave to the new arrival before watching the gophers go out and begin to spread the seeds. "Right'o then I'm supposin... Guess it's gonna be uh... Well shit. Guess I'mma be here if'n crap goes sour n'such." She nods to herself then as she walks after Angus, smirking widely. "Aw it ain't gonna be that bad Angus sir. You got me runnin round an' all... Creators' be knowin Kalt here can be takin a whoopin'n what not."<br> <br>"Don't worry," Fenris grins, "I have no intention of hurting your maybe reptiles." He waves at Alef as he saunters after Angus, keeping Asher close. "Hi Alef!" he says, "We're catching beasties! Glad you're here!" Fenris looks around the clearing. "Heavy? These beasties of yours?" he asks the gophers as he starts getting a feel for what he wants to accomplish.<br> <br>Asher trots close after Fenris. He is curious about these creatures, but worried about getting in a fight with them The little canine tugs on Fenris's coat. "Maybe we should get a better vantage point?" he asks, pointing to the surrounding trees.<br> <br>"Maybe as heavy as you without your armor, it's hard to tell with that big one." says Carry as she and the other gopher move the cages within decent range of the lure. As they do, there appears to be rustling in the bushes! The bait sure has lured something, but what is unclear at this time.<br> <br>Angus nods as he stares at the rustling bushes, chuckling. "Kalt, those beetles tossed me and a friend into a tree. They weren't exactly the friendliest things Ive encountered, but You should be able to handle this." He teases, giving her a wink as he waits to see what comes rushing out.<br> <br>Kalt tenses her left arm at the rustling, positioning herself so the buckler is easily available to come up. Glancing to angus as she smirks. "Well, ain't no reason to be scared of a 'lil tossin now eh?" She grins confidently, her right hand resting on the hilt of her axe -just- in case.<br> <br>Fenris looks to the rustling bushes, but keeps his focus on the careful earth magic he is working in the clearing. "I should have something ready to corral them if you can get them into the center of the clearing," he says. His ears flick and another small sound in the foliage to the south. "There's another that way," he motions with a nod.<br> <br>Alef puts a hand on Fenris's shoulder, nodding "Il follow your lead. my power is yours." nodding as her own earth magic mingles with Fenris's, ready to follow his head when he acts, keeping as quiet as the tall girl can in her padded armor and robes.<br> <br>Asher nods to Fenris, turning to keep his back to the much bigger tiger. He had heard it too. "I'm watching for it," he says, not sure what he will do if something comes charging out of the bushes.<br> <br>The rustling stops as a skirth emerges from the bushes. It approaches Fenris and Alef as quickly as it can, seemingly drawn to the lure meant for whatever they were supposed to capture.<br> <br>Angus blinks at the Skirth, trying not to burst out laughing. "Well, that is one monster out of the way!" The fox comments when he is finally able to catch his breath again, relaxing a little more as he turns to face the hidden threat to the south, adjusting his hat to keep the sun out of his eyes.<br> <br>Kalt gets a rather confused look on her face as she looks at the skrith. "... Huh. Well one lil'bugger ain't too bad I'm supposin... Ain't no swarm or nuttin." She nods to herself, figuring the others more than capable of squashing a bug as she turns back to follow angus' gaze.<br> <br>Fenris stares at the enormous insect. Not the right sort of beastie at all. Usually, he would just ignore the thing, but it was eating their bait! And probably keeping their actual quarry from emerging. "Anyone care to drive our unwelcome visitor off?" he asks, maintaining his focus on the fast acting earth magic he has planned. "But calmly if you can," he adds, "We don't want to frighten OUR beasties too."<br> <br>Asher looks from Fenris to the newly arrived skrith. "Um, Shoo!" the little corgi waves his stubby little hands at the thing while he fumbles with his soul gem. He had not come here expecting trouble! The little canine draws his saber and waves it as menacingly as he can manage at the giant bug.<br> <br>Alef frowns, thinking of something she could do as she keeps her earth magic going to Fenris as well, sighing quietly as she does nothing to break her consentration on the magic.<br> <br>The Skrith refuses to yeild, rearing at Asher as it threatens it. As this goes on, from the south, rather large creature emerges from the foliage. It is of deccent size, if it could stand up it would tower over the average being. It does not appear to possess this abliity however, it's four limbs pushing it's tall body along. It's skin seems rather wet, and it's bright blue coloration stands out well against the forest. The most peculiar feature on this creature is that through it's body, is a massive hole, which cleans through to the other side.<br> <br>Angus squints a little as the Skirth just doesn't seem to want to leave, his eyes going a little wide as the new creature appears. "Oh dear." Not good, he looks down at the Skirth, then to the bigger creature before he takes a step over near Asher and punts the Skirth away, trying to get the annoying little thing out of the way so they could focus on the bigger target!<br> <br>Kalt whistles as she sees this new foe, pointing to it. "So I'm guessin that's the thing ain't it? One of 'em least... Shit, they suppose to be havin big holes an' stuff?" Letting angus have his fun with the Skrith as she idly walks in a half circle around the new appearance. Keeping her eyes on the creature while remaining ready to intercept it.<br> <br>"You okay there, kid?" Fenris asks Asher, his eyes drawn away from the corgi to the strange, lumbering creature. Time to catch at least this one! Fenris activates the complicated math he has prepared, forcing the earth under the creature downward while creating a rough dome over the top of the creature. That ought to hold it. Now to help Asher and find the other one. "What did you call these things?" he asks the gophers as he relaxes for a moment. Hopefully he can do that again.<br> <br>Alef's power jumps to work with Fenris's, forming the dome while Fenris deforms the ground, forming a impromptu pit, smiling and letting out a gasp as the dome of hard stone and tree root weaves into place above the odd beast. "Lets hope that holds it."<br> <br>Asher yelps as Angus steps in and punts the skrith, jumping back a little to stay out of the way. "F-f-f-fine," he stammers in response to Fenris's question, but keeping his blade ready, just in case.<br> <br>The Skrith goes flying, an awkard twirl in the air as it tries to cling to anything it comes across, eventually stopping it's flight as it hits the ground and writhes upside for while. The strange creature plummets into a tomb and the two gophers look a little more concerned. "We didn't name them yet they're to be researached.... are you sure it can breathe like that? We don't know that it can survive without air." The two look to eachother and converse lowly before one of them says "We should find the other one. It probably isn't very far if that ones here."<br> <br>Angus cheers both Alef and Fenris on, he wasn't watching the Skirth fly through the air at all, oh nooooo. "Hah, one down! So, one more to go?" He asks, muttering a little yes when he notices the Skirth go down and flail.<br> <br>Kalt tsks gently as the creature appears caught, giving a slight shrug. "Well shit, it ain't gonna be that hard today innit?" She grins and turns to look at the other bushes as she continues to circle around the caught creature... waiting so see where the other comes from.<br> <br>"Don't worry," Fenris grins to the concerned gophers, "There is enough air in there to last it for hours, and we shouldn't need that long." Besides, opening an air hole would be the work of seconds. "Now, do the creatures prefer to stay together?" he asks, "Or should we expect that they split up at the first opportunity?" The tiger scans the brush warily, hoping he can pull off another fast grab like that one.<br> <br>Alef smiles lightly, "I left a tiny hole on the top." nodding gently, "it should get enough air." nodding lightly as she looks around "You said there was another one?" frowning lightly as she climbs up abit to drop the lure into the hole so the creature can enjoy its lure. "Im curious as to where you got such creatures, but that can wait till we catch the 2nd one."<br> <br>Asher sighs with relief as the skrith is sent flying by Angus's kick. Hopefully, there weren't more where it had come from. "Thank you, Lord Solacious," he says with a little bow. The little canine trots over to stand with the others as they plan their next move, scanning the brush as he goes.<br> <br>The two look a little worried, but nod at the explanation of air supply. From behind the gophers is another of the creatures, moving straight down the path they had followed. It doesn't seem very interested in the trap, more for the bag of seeds that has been left on the ground nearby, which it promptly grabs and shakes with aggression.<br> <br>"No problem Asher, not really a fan of those things myself anyway." Answered the fox, shaking his foot to make sure there wasn't any Skirth left on it as Angus turns back to study the creature. "Yep, definitly better then the wagon sized beetles from before."<br> <br>Kalt huffs as she begins to walk in the direction of the new creature, making certain she is between the group and the creature -just- in case. "Right then. Wrapp'em  up an' I figure we got'em all done up eh?" Grinning as she's relaxed from the seemingly easy pace of this job.<br> <br>Fenris focuses once more and drops the earth beneath the second beast, cocooning the creature just like its companion. "Whew!" he says, wiping his brow, "Now the rest of you can load them in the wagon!" he says with a grin.<br> <br>Asher sheathes his blade and watches as Fenris captures the second monster. He had not realized that the tiger was so powerful! The corgi thought he was just the musician for the Freeswords Inn! "That is amazing!" he applauds, then his ears droop at the thought of trying to load the beasts into the wagon. The little dog looks askance at Angus. "Were the beetles really the size of wagons?" he asks.<br> <br>The two look at the descended creatures and tilt their heads. "Okay now let's get them out of their holes and into the cages!" they declare, moving a cage towards the 2nd one, who is the closest. "Do you just take the top off and push them up? How does this work?"<br> <br>Angus nods a bit as he smiles. "Yes, yes they were. My friend Rainer and I were sent to try and stop them. The bastards tossed us both into a tree before we could even scratch their shelled hides." He chuckles, remembering how they actually managed to kill the beast. "...I actually have a helmet made out of their hides back at home."<br> <br>Kalt furrows her brow and scratches her head. "Uh... That's a good question n'all... Fenris? How we gonna get 'em into the cage if'n we cannot get to 'em without openin it all up an makin it pointless?" She looks to Angus, then back to the gophers before tapping her chin. "What if we make the dirt one's all large an' free from the ground eh? Put a hole in 'em an' you got a new cage!"<br> <br>Fenris laughs as the gophers look at the traps in confusion. "Something very like that," he says with a grin. "Just put the cage up against the mound there, you could put some of those seeds in there to tempt it in," he says, carefully working out the math to lift the trapped creature and create a low door.<br> <br>Asher just watches the procedings in awe. It just wasn't fair. He wishes he could do all of this! Kick skriths, trap monsters! The round little corgi starts setting goals, even as he watches.<br> <br>Alef smiles lightly, Glad that the hunt went well and nobody but a skrith got hurt really, using her earth magic to open the access when the cages are in place, watching and resting as she sighs softly and looks about quietly at the forest around her. "im glad things went well." nods.<br> <br>The cages in place and baited, the first opening goes exactly as planned, resulting in a blue caged creature. The second one, however, pushes out rather abruptly, coated in a white bubbly layer of something without an immediately identifiable source. The cage is nudged aside and the creature slips between the cage and the stone quite easily, rushing the bag of seeds once more before it attempts to take off with it.<br> <br>Angus places his hands behind his head as he watches the bugs getting put into their cages, before the aggresive one decides to get a little problematic. "Yeesh, what is wrong with that one?" He asks, noticing the white bubbly layer as he looks to Fenris to see if he will use anymore earth magic.<br> <br>Kalt isn't as patient as Angus aparantly, watching the second one make a dash for it she's running at it before leaping in a attempt to tackle into either the beast, or it's legs. For her benefit though, everything but her face -is- armored, so she most certainly feels safe...<br> <br>No time for the big cocoon again. Fenris watches Kalt make a flying tackle and reaches out his earth magic to try to trap the creature's legs in stone.<br> <br>Asher does a worried little dance in place as the second beast makes a break for freedom. Acting on instinct and his newfound, if nervous resolution, he patters after the creature, hoping to do who knows what!<br> <br>Alef leaps to her feet, grabbing at the sky as a massive current of air flows, channeling it through the trees, a strong gust of air blowing right into the creature's face to try and slow it down.<br> <br>Alef succeeds in strirpping the coating, just after Kalt does an amazing tackle into the creature, sliding off without much of a fuss onto the forest floor below. The creature is given stone socks as it attempts to muscle it's way out of it's binds, dropping the seed. As it struggles the hole in it's body begins to produce a large cluster of the bubbles, which seem to radiate outward rapidly.<br> <br>Angus blinks, watching the chaos as he rusn to Kalt's side. "You okay?" He asks her as he looks up at the bug, wondering what exactly was going on with this thing as the bubbles seem to get more aggresive, and appear more on the bug.

"You okay?" He asks her as he looks up at the bug, wondering what exactly was going on with this thing as the bubbles seem to get more aggresive, and appear more on the bug.<br> <br>Kalt grunts from her head buried in a pile of dirt leaves and sticks, before she rolls to her feet and shakes her head. "Huh? Yeah yeah good!" She turns on her paw to face the beast as she raises her buckler and begins to pace around it. "Figurin' we could knock it on the head nice an' good yeah? Make it stop uh... That." She motions with her free hand at the bubbles.<br> <br>"Are we worried about these bubbles?" Fenris asks the gophers, urging them to bring the cage closer to the creature. "This is my first experience with anything that frothed at the middle."<br> <br>Asher has no idea what exactly is happening, but on instinct he trots up behind the prone creature's head and starts to stroke it gently and murmur to it like he would to a skittish animal back on the family farm. Creators, he hoped it wouldn't try to bite him. He keeps a careful eye on the encroaching bubbles, though.<br> <br>Alef is not sure what to do to help, her first impulse is to use more air currents to remove bubbles or get rid of them. unsure what to do, or how to slow or calm this beast down.<br> <br>The creature doesn't seem to understand at all what Asher is doing, let alone why it's been gifted a drowning aid or being buffetted by wind, but it does respond to being touched, snapping at the canine who narrowly pulls away. "No, we'd have said if we were... I think it's supposed to help it stay moist or be some form of protection but I don't know, we need to study it first." says the male. They move the cage into a better position, and urge them to push it inside.<br> <br>Angus just blinks. "We might actually cause more problems then fix anything Kalt, probably break something and cause it to go on a rage....But then again, don't think much will make it any worse." He walks up beside Asher and puts a hand on his shoulder. "You okay?"<br> <br>Kalt shrugs and makes her way around the creature. Raising her buckler as she gets ready to push the bubbly creature with it, if it resists anything fenris would do with the stone shoes. "Right'o. I'll jus' save hittin' it on the head an' such till later. Guessin' it's on you mister fenris!"<br> <br>Alef frowns as she frowns, thinking of adding her earth magic to fenris's to try and help drag the creature into its cage. or maybe... looking at the bag of seed that thing wants so bad. wondering if she can grab it with earth or wind, and throw it into the cage...<br> <br>Fenris huffs a little with all the magical effort he has thrown around in a short period of time. "Maybe we should just let it rest for a bit," he suggests, "Once it has calmed down, I will release it and we can coax it into it's cage. Or I can leave it bound and carve out that bit of earth that it is stuck to." The tiger walks over to Asher and Angus. "You okay kid?" he asks, "That was very brave of you to run up to the beastie like that."<br> <br>Asher yelps and jumps back as the creature snaps at him. That was close! "I'm alright," he says to both Angus and Fenris. "It just startled me a bit," he says, blushing a little at Fenris's praise.<br> <br>The gophers nod to the plan, one of them grabbing the seed within it's immediate sight and moving them away so there is nothing for it to be so frantic about, besides being unable to move. They take a handful and put it in the cage, putting a few within the creatures reach for it to scoop up, which it hastily does. "We really do owe you for all this trouble... now all we need is to get it inside the cage and we're good to go." It doesn't take a super long time for the beast to stop struggling, it's movements slow and sluggish once more.<br> <br>Angus starts walking around it, looking it over in open curiousity as he eyes the white bubbles. "I'm still wondering what in the name of the creators is that white bubbling stuff. Don't want to touch it cause it could be toxic couldn't it?" He asks, looking to the gophers before turning back to the thing.<br> <br>Kalt debates for a moment as she listens to angus, tilting her head slightly as she waits to help herd the beast into the cage. "Well shit, why ain't nobody just touch some yet an' see? Probably nuttin but water an' all." She nods to herself, fairly certain thatswhy it is bubbling.<br> <br>Fenris watches as the creature slowly relaxes. "Is everyone ready?" he asks. He walks around so that the animal is between himself and the cage. "Alright beastie," he says, "In you go." He takes a deep breath and releases the stone binding the creature's feet, hoping that it goes for the bait in the cage.<br> <br>Alef nods lightly, hoping for the best and ready to do some earth magic on a whim if needed to keep it from fleeing into the trees again.<br> <br>On a whim, and high on adrenaline, Asher reaches out and pops a bubble that has flowed from the creatures side to the ground before scuttling back as Fenris releases its bonds. "It could just be water," he says, looking at his finger.<br> <br>The creature goes into the cage without a hitch, being urged forward by the group. It is closed in and the two gophers sigh in relief. "Why thank you all so much. We really owe you one." they say as they work together to slowly move the cages to their cart. The creatures are covered with cloths, and then everything is packed up.<br> <br>Angus watches Asher a little curiously, but still rather nervous as they didn't know what the white bubbles would do. "Well, just be careful with those things. They seem to not be really friendly." He eyes the creature before walking over to the cages to watch them.<br> <br>Kalt blinks and looks at Asher as he pokes one of the bubbles, leaning forward as she waits to see if Asher keels over dead. "Well shoot, that ain't too much trouble doin' this. Was half expectin everything to get damned fuddled up an' all." Scooting forward to Asher to get a better look if the poor corgi drops de--- wounded.<br> <br>Alef smiles lightly. "im glad that we could help sir and maim. I hoep your research goes productively, though I am curious, where did you get such creatures? the northern lands? The island nations? im curious."<br> <br>Fenris rolls his shoulders and grins at a job well done. "Good work everyone," he says, "And good luck with those beasties of yours!" Honestly, it was something of a relief to do something as simple and honest as an animal capture. No criminals, no spirits, nothing. . . okay, a little bit of weird, but within acceptable limits. The tiger turns to Asher. "Sorry for the interruption in our excercises," he says, "But I'd be happy to give you some tips on that air magic on the way back!"<br> <br>Asher sniffs at the slime on his finger. It doesn't seem to hurt, but it certainly smells foul! The corgi wipes his hand on the grass and turns to Fenris. "That would be great!" he yips happily, "And this was as good as any excercise!" The little canine has a new resolve. Next time he won't be a burden!<br> <br>The two look to the group and bow polietly, their quarrels starting under their breath again. "North is a good start, but would you believe a lake off of a mountain far to the north, outside of sweetwater?" the female says, before she nudges the male and points a finger at him as they turn around. As they walk off, leaving a reward for the heros, one can hear her say "I don't want to see you move a muscle the whole trip back."

Standing at a meeting place, established in the request, are a pair of gophers. They banter back and forth with eachother, the male and female voices contrasting sharply, increasingly so as the female seems to get more and more worked up. "YOU ARE NOT A TALENTED Mathmatician, PLEASE stop trying to make the cart go faster. The next time you do the caravan could hurt someone!" the female says. "I'm sorry, but theres no need to drag my talent into this, I'll get it down next time Carry." Carry, apparently the female gopher, puts her hands on her head and makes a very frusrated sound. The two stand by an assortment of gear, and two empty cages.

Angus sighs a little bit as he gets closer to, hearing their shouting from what could of easily been a mile away. "I'm guessing things didn't go well?" He asks as he stops a few feet off from them, letting them argue for now.

Adolphus was running patrols in the forest. The huge hulking, tubby Hippo gives a light rumble. His leather and chainmail bulging across his middle, warhammer across his back he surveys the situation. "Gophers..." he says flatly. A glance around the area to make sure no one is in immediate danger and then he crossesover his fleshy arms to see what's to be done.

Kalt enters not far behind Angus, her weapons sharpened and ready at her sides as her armor gives her form a nice sense of protection... Though for whatever reason, the vixen never bothers with a helmet. She idly adjusts some of the cloth identifying her as a Solacious worker, before looking to Angus. "Ain't lookin' good that's right. Least ain't no blood n'such right?" She nods to herself gently before looking over the cages to check their sizes.

Fenris alights expertly in a small blast of wind magic. It was always faster to travel by air. "I heard someone needed help with some lost creatures," he says, nodding to the familiar gathering and giving the royal hippo a graceful bow.

Asher wobbles dazedly into the clearing from within a nearby bush. He had been going through some exercises with Fenris when the call came, but wasn't nearly so graceful with his air magic. He does his best to make himself presentable, then joins the group.

The gophers don't seem to notice the group at first, bickering about past blunders and whether or not anyone was at fault for a very long time. The male finally points to the group. "How about we handle this first, they've been waiting patiently." he says in a tone that suggests he's merely diverting attention from himself. Carry snaps her gaze to the group for a second before she swats the male. "Why didn't you tell me?" she says as she turns, her angry face gone as she smiles ever so sweetly and politely bows. "Hello! are you all here to help us wrangle up our cargo? It might be a little hazardous but we can pay." she says as she points to the rather large cages, each could fit an average sized being.

Angus taps his claws on his forearm as he waits, nodding a little to Kalt. "No blood yes, but that doesn't mean this will be any easier then normal." His tail flicks as he waits for them to be noticed, just giving them a smile as they finally notice the group, nodding in turn before turning to look at Adolphus, bowing a little in greeting.

Adolphus senses the air magic, his bulk turns to see Fenris, the faintest incline of his head to return his bow. Air magic, of course, doens't agree ith him. He then glances at the large cages, "What exactly were you transporting good citizens. Nothing illegal I suppose, those are fairly large cages. That and the land routes have become a little more dangerous. Nothing I hope that's too dangerous." he flicks his eyes back to the pair. He gives a more firm nod to Angus, "Lord Solacious"

Kalt nods to Angus as she adjusts her gear and looks to Fenris and Asher. "Well shit, s'a party now ain't it?

Kalt nods to Angus as she adjusts her gear and looks to Fenris and Asher. "Well shit, s'a party now ain't it?" She grins and offers a wave before turning her attention back to angus. "Fair'nuff. Supposin' I'll be makin sure it ain't hurtin you though eh?" She gives him a rather coy grin before nodding to the gophers.

Fenris gives a swaggery sort of salute. "Of course Ma'am," he says with a grin, "No problem too big or too small!" And these ones certainly didn't look small. The tiger grins at Kalt's casual profanity, she would have to get that tongue under control before she met Mirana Solacious. "What exactly are we wrangling?" he asks, echoing Adolphus's question.

Asher stares at the cages. Whatever had been in there could probably swallow him whole! The little corgi starts when he notices a new face, and a royal to boot! Firmament was certainly all you could ask for in excitement. "I, I hope that I can be of help," the little dog stammers.

"No not illegal just bizzare... worth studying really, they really are." says Carry as she rubs her head. "I don't even know how to describe them to you, you'll know when you see them, but they're hard to keep down and away, we can lure them out with the feed we have but we need your help with the actual catching part... he's not going to pull a miracle out of his rear like last time." The male gopher takes offense to that and goes to get a large bag of some sort of seeds. "They eat these." he says very simply, in an aggiated tone. "No they aren't as dangerous as they may give an impression of being." he adds. "So, can we rely on your help?"

Angus looks to the cages. "....What exactly are we trying to recatch?" He asks bluntly, shaking his head. "You can try if you like Kalt, but don't go protecting me, and forget to take care of yourself." He tips his hat to Adolphus when he speaks his name, eyeing both Asher and Fenris. "Asher, just stick to Fenris, he should help keep you safe if need be."

Adolphus grunts, "What manner of animal are they then, mammal, avian, bug, slime..." he remains with his arms folded.

Kalt whistles innocently as she gives a nod to Angus. "Yes'sir." She figures that's the best response for the situation, and ensures her berserker buckler is strapped and ready. The sharpened edge serving as a extra weapon for herself, to compliment her axe and brutal fighting style. She looks over the seed and raises an eyebrow however as she tries to imagine what sort of creature it was. "Sure you ain't bringin farm critters round?"

"Well," Fenris says, "If we are going to need some fire power." The tiger discreetly alters the configuration of his soul gems and waits as he feels his connection to the elements grow. "I'm sure that we can catch your creatures," he says, checking his bracer to be sure that his strange electrical problem is under control. He gives Asher a pat on the head. "Like Angus said," he grins, "just stick with me, kiddo."

Asher swallows hard and nods to first Angus, then Fenris. "Okay, you just tell me what to do then," he says timidly. "I'm usually pretty good with animals, you know," the little dog perks up for a moment, "As long as they only eat seeds."

Alef comes walking out of the forest, having been on patrol when she heard the arguement before, looking at the gathered group. "Sir Angus? Lord Good?" Looking supprised by the gathering "Whats going on out here?" Looking supprised but pleasently so.

The two look to eachother. "Maybe reptile?" says Carry before the male retorts with "You mean Amphibian." When the words fire power come up they seem concerend. "No please don't hurt them! We didn't drag them away from their home all the way here to let someone fry them. Please be gentle!" one says before the other nods. "They don't just eat seeds I believe, they eat almost anything that we would eat given the chance they just like these special seeds a lot. They go nuts for them, but they're good for bringing them to one spot." The two nod and move out through the forest, trying to find a spot they like. As they find one they being to set up. "Here seems like a logical place to try." says the male as he drops a handful of seeds out in the open, before he takes a few steps back and looks to the group.

Angus gives both Fenris and Kalt a smile as he follows the two Gophers, hands in his pokets as looks around. "Heh....reminds me of a simliar situation awhile back. With beetles the size of wagons, hopefully this doesn't go the same way as that one." He comments as he waits to see what happens.

Alef nods lightly. "Im not sure whats going on, but if I can help I will do what I can." nodding lightly as she taps her chin.

Kalt offers a wave to the new arrival before watching the gophers go out and begin to spread the seeds. Creators' be knowin Kalt here can be takin a whoopin'n what not."

"Don't worry," Fenris grins, "I have no intention of hurting your maybe reptiles." He waves at Alef as he saunters after Angus, keeping Asher close. "Hi Alef!" he says, "We're catching beasties! Glad you're here!" Fenris looks around the clearing. "Heavy? These beasties of yours?" he asks the gophers as he starts getting a feel for what he wants to accomplish.

Asher trots close after Fenris. He is curious about these creatures, but worried about getting in a fight with them The little canine tugs on Fenris's coat. "Maybe we should get a better vantage point?" he asks, pointing to the surrounding trees.

"Maybe as heavy as you without your armor, it's hard to tell with that big one." says Carry as she and the other gopher move the cages within decent range of the lure. As they do, there appears to be rustling in the bushes! The bait sure has lured something, but what is unclear at this time.

Angus nods as he stares at the rustling bushes, chuckling. "Kalt, those beetles tossed me and a friend into a tree. They weren't exactly the friendliest things Ive encountered, but You should be able to handle this." He teases, giving her a wink as he waits to see what comes rushing out.

Kalt tenses her left arm at the rustling, positioning herself so the buckler is easily available to come up. Glancing to angus as she smirks. "Well, ain't no reason to be scared of a 'lil tossin now eh?" She grins confidently, her right hand resting on the hilt of her axe -just- in case.

Fenris looks to the rustling bushes, but keeps his focus on the careful earth magic he is working in the clearing. "I should have something ready to corral them if you can get them into the center of the clearing," he says. His ears flick and another small sound in the foliage to the south. "There's another that way," he motions with a nod.

Alef puts a hand on Fenris's shoulder, nodding "Il follow your lead. my power is yours." nodding as her own earth magic mingles with Fenris's, ready to follow his head when he acts, keeping as quiet as the tall girl can in her padded armor and robes.

Asher nods to Fenris, turning to keep his back to the much bigger tiger. He had heard it too. "I'm watching for it," he says, not sure what he will do if something comes charging out of the bushes.

The rustling stops as a skirth emerges from the bushes. It approaches Fenris and Alef as quickly as it can, seemingly drawn to the lure meant for whatever they were supposed to capture.

Angus blinks at the Skirth, trying not to burst out laughing. "Well, that is one monster out of the way!" The fox comments when he is finally able to catch his breath again, relaxing a little more as he turns to face the hidden threat to the south, adjusting his hat to keep the sun out of his eyes.

Kalt gets a rather confused look on her face as she looks at the skrith. "... Huh. Well one lil'bugger ain't too bad I'm supposin... Ain't no swarm or nuttin." She nods to herself, figuring the others more than capable of squashing a bug as she turns back to follow angus' gaze.

Fenris stares at the enormous insect. "But calmly if you can," he adds, "We don't want to frighten OUR beasties too."

Asher looks from Fenris to the newly arrived skrith. "Um, Shoo!" the little corgi waves his stubby little hands at the thing while he fumbles with his soul gem. He had not come here expecting trouble! The little canine draws his saber and waves it as menacingly as he can manage at the giant bug.

Alef frowns, thinking of something she could do as she keeps her earth magic going to Fenris as well, sighing quietly as she does nothing to break her consentration on the magic.

The Skrith refuses to yeild, rearing at Asher as it threatens it. The most peculiar feature on this creature is that through it's body, is a massive hole, which cleans through to the other side.

Angus squints a little as the Skirth just doesn't seem to want to leave, his eyes going a little wide as the new creature appears. "Oh dear." Not good, he looks down at the Skirth, then to the bigger creature before he takes a step over near Asher and punts the Skirth away, trying to get the annoying little thing out of the way so they could focus on the bigger target!

Kalt whistles as she sees this new foe, pointing to it. "So I'm guessin that's the thing ain't it? One of 'em least... Shit, they suppose to be havin big holes an' stuff?" Letting angus have his fun with the Skrith as she idly walks in a half circle around the new appearance. Keeping her eyes on the creature while remaining ready to intercept it.

"You okay there, kid?" Fenris asks Asher, his eyes drawn away from the corgi to the strange, lumbering creature. Hopefully he can do that again.

Alef's power jumps to work with Fenris's, forming the dome while Fenris deforms the ground, forming a impromptu pit, smiling and letting out a gasp as the dome of hard stone and tree root weaves into place above the odd beast. "Lets hope that holds it."

Asher yelps as Angus steps in and punts the skrith, jumping back a little to stay out of the way. "F-f-f-fine," he stammers in response to Fenris's question, but keeping his blade ready, just in case.

The Skrith goes flying, an awkard twirl in the air as it tries to cling to anything it comes across, eventually stopping it's flight as it hits the ground and writhes upside for while. The strange creature plummets into a tomb and the two gophers look a little more concerned. "We didn't name them yet they're to be researached.... are you sure it can breathe like that? We don't know that it can survive without air." The two look to eachother and converse lowly before one of them says "We should find the other one. It probably isn't very far if that ones here."

Angus cheers both Alef and Fenris on, he wasn't watching the Skirth fly through the air at all, oh nooooo. "Hah, one down! So, one more to go?" He asks, muttering a little yes when he notices the Skirth go down and flail.

Kalt tsks gently as the creature appears caught, giving a slight shrug. "Well shit, it ain't gonna be that hard today innit?" She grins and turns to look at the other bushes as she continues to circle around the caught creature... waiting so see where the other comes from.

"Don't worry," Fenris grins to the concerned gophers, "There is enough air in there to last it for hours, and we shouldn't need that long." Besides, opening an air hole would be the work of seconds. "Now, do the creatures prefer to stay together?" he asks, "Or should we expect that they split up at the first opportunity?" The tiger scans the brush warily, hoping he can pull off another fast grab like that one.

Alef smiles lightly, "I left a tiny hole on the top." nodding gently, "it should get enough air." nodding lightly as she looks around "You said there was another one?" frowning lightly as she climbs up abit to drop the lure into the hole so the creature can enjoy its lure. "Im curious as to where you got such creatures, but that can wait till we catch the 2nd one."

Asher sighs with relief as the skrith is sent flying by Angus's kick. Hopefully, there weren't more where it had come from. "Thank you, Lord Solacious," he says with a little bow. The little canine trots over to stand with the others as they plan their next move, scanning the brush as he goes.

The two look a little worried, but nod at the explanation of air supply. From behind the gophers is another of the creatures, moving straight down the path they had followed. It doesn't seem very interested in the trap, more for the bag of seeds that has been left on the ground nearby, which it promptly grabs and shakes with aggression.

"No problem Asher, not really a fan of those things myself anyway." Answered the fox, shaking his foot to make sure there wasn't any Skirth left on it as Angus turns back to study the creature. "Yep, definitly better then the wagon sized beetles from before."

Kalt huffs as she begins to walk in the direction of the new creature, making certain she is between the group and the creature -just- in case. "Right then. Wrapp'em up an' I figure we got'em all done up eh?" Grinning as she's relaxed from the seemingly easy pace of this job.

Fenris focuses once more and drops the earth beneath the second beast, cocooning the creature just like its companion. "Whew!" he says, wiping his brow, "Now the rest of you can load them in the wagon!" he says with a grin.

Asher sheathes his blade and watches as Fenris captures the second monster. He had not realized that the tiger was so powerful! The corgi thought he was just the musician for the Freeswords Inn! "That is amazing!" he applauds, then his ears droop at the thought of trying to load the beasts into the wagon. The little dog looks askance at Angus. "Were the beetles really the size of wagons?" he asks.

The two look at the descended creatures and tilt their heads. "Okay now let's get them out of their holes and into the cages!" they declare, moving a cage towards the 2nd one, who is the closest. "Do you just take the top off and push them up? How does this work?"

Angus nods a bit as he smiles. "Yes, yes they were. My friend Rainer and I were sent to try and stop them. The bastards tossed us both into a tree before we could even scratch their shelled hides." He chuckles, remembering how they actually managed to kill the beast. "...I actually have a helmet made out of their hides back at home."

Kalt furrows her brow and scratches her head. Put a hole in 'em an' you got a new cage!"

Fenris laughs as the gophers look at the traps in confusion. "Something very like that," he says with a grin. "Just put the cage up against the mound there, you could put some of those seeds in there to tempt it in," he says, carefully working out the math to lift the trapped creature and create a low door.

Asher just watches the procedings in awe. It just wasn't fair. He wishes he could do all of this! Kick skriths, trap monsters! The round little corgi starts setting goals, even as he watches.

Alef smiles lightly, Glad that the hunt went well and nobody but a skrith got hurt really, using her earth magic to open the access when the cages are in place, watching and resting as she sighs softly and looks about quietly at the forest around her. "im glad things went well." nods.

The cages in place and baited, the first opening goes exactly as planned, resulting in a blue caged creature. The second one, however, pushes out rather abruptly, coated in a white bubbly layer of something without an immediately identifiable source. The cage is nudged aside and the creature slips between the cage and the stone quite easily, rushing the bag of seeds once more before it attempts to take off with it.

Angus places his hands behind his head as he watches the bugs getting put into their cages, before the aggresive one decides to get a little problematic. "Yeesh, what is wrong with that one?" He asks, noticing the white bubbly layer as he looks to Fenris to see if he will use anymore earth magic.

Kalt isn't as patient as Angus aparantly, watching the second one make a dash for it she's running at it before leaping in a attempt to tackle into either the beast, or it's legs. For her benefit though, everything but her face -is- armored, so she most certainly feels safe...

No time for the big cocoon again. Fenris watches Kalt make a flying tackle and reaches out his earth magic to try to trap the creature's legs in stone.

Asher does a worried little dance in place as the second beast makes a break for freedom. Acting on instinct and his newfound, if nervous resolution, he patters after the creature, hoping to do who knows what!

Alef leaps to her feet, grabbing at the sky as a massive current of air flows, channeling it through the trees, a strong gust of air blowing right into the creature's face to try and slow it down.

Alef succeeds in strirpping the coating, just after Kalt does an amazing tackle into the creature, sliding off without much of a fuss onto the forest floor below. The creature is given stone socks as it attempts to muscle it's way out of it's binds, dropping the seed. As it struggles the hole in it's body begins to produce a large cluster of the bubbles, which seem to radiate outward rapidly.

Angus blinks, watching the chaos as he rusn to Kalt's side. "You okay?" He asks her as he looks up at the bug, wondering what exactly was going on with this thing as the bubbles seem to get more aggresive, and appear more on the bug.

Kalt grunts from her head buried in a pile of dirt leaves and sticks, before she rolls to her feet and shakes her head. "Huh? Yeah yeah good!" She turns on her paw to face the beast as she raises her buckler and begins to pace around it. "Figurin' we could knock it on the head nice an' good yeah? Make it stop uh... That." She motions with her free hand at the bubbles.

"Are we worried about these bubbles?" Fenris asks the gophers, urging them to bring the cage closer to the creature. "This is my first experience with anything that frothed at the middle."

Asher has no idea what exactly is happening, but on instinct he trots up behind the prone creature's head and starts to stroke it gently and murmur to it like he would to a skittish animal back on the family farm. Creators, he hoped it wouldn't try to bite him. He keeps a careful eye on the encroaching bubbles, though.

Alef is not sure what to do to help, her first impulse is to use more air currents to remove bubbles or get rid of them. unsure what to do, or how to slow or calm this beast down.

The creature doesn't seem to understand at all what Asher is doing, let alone why it's been gifted a drowning aid or being buffetted by wind, but it does respond to being touched, snapping at the canine who narrowly pulls away. "No, we'd have said if we were... I think it's supposed to help it stay moist or be some form of protection but I don't know, we need to study it first." says the male. They move the cage into a better position, and urge them to push it inside.

Angus just blinks. "We might actually cause more problems then fix anything Kalt, probably break something and cause it to go on a rage....But then again, don't think much will make it any worse." He walks up beside Asher and puts a hand on his shoulder. "You okay?"

Kalt shrugs and makes her way around the creature. Raising her buckler as she gets ready to push the bubbly creature with it, if it resists anything fenris would do with the stone shoes. "Right'o. I'll jus' save hittin' it on the head an' such till later. Guessin' it's on you mister fenris!"

Alef frowns as she frowns, thinking of adding her earth magic to fenris's to try and help drag the creature into its cage. or maybe... looking at the bag of seed that thing wants so bad. wondering if she can grab it with earth or wind, and throw it into the cage...

Fenris huffs a little with all the magical effort he has thrown around in a short period of time. "Maybe we should just let it rest for a bit," he suggests, "Once it has calmed down, I will release it and we can coax it into it's cage. Or I can leave it bound and carve out that bit of earth that it is stuck to." The tiger walks over to Asher and Angus. "You okay kid?" he asks, "That was very brave of you to run up to the beastie like that."

Asher yelps and jumps back as the creature snaps at him. That was close! "I'm alright," he says to both Angus and Fenris. "It just startled me a bit," he says, blushing a little at Fenris's praise.

The gophers nod to the plan, one of them grabbing the seed within it's immediate sight and moving them away so there is nothing for it to be so frantic about, besides being unable to move. They take a handful and put it in the cage, putting a few within the creatures reach for it to scoop up, which it hastily does. "We really do owe you for all this trouble... now all we need is to get it inside the cage and we're good to go." It doesn't take a super long time for the beast to stop struggling, it's movements slow and sluggish once more.

Angus starts walking around it, looking it over in open curiousity as he eyes the white bubbles. "I'm still wondering what in the name of the creators is that white bubbling stuff. Don't want to touch it cause it could be toxic couldn't it?" He asks, looking to the gophers before turning back to the thing.

Kalt debates for a moment as she listens to angus, tilting her head slightly as she waits to help herd the beast into the cage. "Well shit, why ain't nobody just touch some yet an' see? Probably nuttin but water an' all." She nods to herself, fairly certain thatswhy it is bubbling.

Fenris watches as the creature slowly relaxes. "Is everyone ready?" he asks. He walks around so that the animal is between himself and the cage. "Alright beastie," he says, "In you go." He takes a deep breath and releases the stone binding the creature's feet, hoping that it goes for the bait in the cage.

Alef nods lightly, hoping for the best and ready to do some earth magic on a whim if needed to keep it from fleeing into the trees again.

On a whim, and high on adrenaline, Asher reaches out and pops a bubble that has flowed from the creatures side to the ground before scuttling back as Fenris releases its bonds. "It could just be water," he says, looking at his finger.

The creature goes into the cage without a hitch, being urged forward by the group. It is closed in and the two gophers sigh in relief. "Why thank you all so much. We really owe you one." they say as they work together to slowly move the cages to their cart. The creatures are covered with cloths, and then everything is packed up.

Angus watches Asher a little curiously, but still rather nervous as they didn't know what the white bubbles would do. "Well, just be careful with those things. They seem to not be really friendly." He eyes the creature before walking over to the cages to watch them.

Kalt blinks and looks at Asher as he pokes one of the bubbles, leaning forward as she waits to see if Asher keels over dead. "Well shoot, that ain't too much trouble doin' this. Was half expectin everything to get damned fuddled up an' all." Scooting forward to Asher to get a better look if the poor corgi drops de--- wounded.

Alef smiles lightly. "im glad that we could help sir and maim. I hoep your research goes productively, though I am curious, where did you get such creatures? the northern lands? The island nations? im curious."

Fenris rolls his shoulders and grins at a job well done. "Sorry for the interruption in our excercises," he says, "But I'd be happy to give you some tips on that air magic on the way back!"

Asher sniffs at the slime on his finger. It doesn't seem to hurt, but it certainly smells foul! The corgi wipes his hand on the grass and turns to Fenris. "That would be great!" he yips happily, "And this was as good as any excercise!" The little canine has a new resolve. Next time he won't be a burden!

The two look to the group and bow polietly, their quarrels starting under their breath again.
