The best way to describe the scene at the prison, is nothing less than chaos. A hole appears to have blown into the side of the west wall to the courtyard, and what convicts -haven't- escaped already, are currently locked in combat with the guards. Though, the guard's numbers are droppingly sufficient to say, as they're down to eight in the courtyard, trying to seal the hole in the wall with tower shields, as four archers stand above them firing down into a massive wave of approximatly thirty inmates, half of them armed to the teeth in weapons and armor stripped from the guard, while the other half is currently trying to merely use the brute force of numbers to try and push themselves outside.

Within the center of the guards is a large tortoise, clad in the heaviest of plate out of the guards, with a lieutenant insignia clasped to his shoulder. "HOLD THE LINE! WE HAVE TO HOLD FOR REINFORCEMENTS!" His voice booms out as they remain locked in the deadly standstill.

Cassidy shuffles quietly onto the scene, hood drawn up and her mask on. She didn't seem to mind the rain much, which ran down her black scaled robes. Fortunately, they seemed designed for conditions far more wet than this. With a magic assisted leap, she hops up to join the archers, flexing her fingers. "Any rules of engagement?" She asks quietly, preparing to light the mass aflame if deemed appropriate.

Wulf takes a place up from behind the line of shields with the archers not far after Cassidy, the Husky makes sure to stay just behind tham and unslings her math engraved musket, and preparing it to fire. "All righty, let's get these criminals back where they came from."

A very high pitched screech announces the arrival of another. The light rain does not seem to be bothersome at all to the Black Panther and Raven crossbreed of a griffon, who immediately proceeds to circle the prison itself, scouting from the air where those on the ground simply cannot see a thing. Bird's eye view and all!

Johnny eyes a few of the two bit criminals as he approaches and shakes his head. "You're keepin these low-lifes in prison, Jackson?" he says with a sneer, a knife coming out but nothing happening as of yet. "S'why there was trouble in shanty-town, you keep all the good'uns in jail and then some vile vox turn up in their place huh? What caused the outbreak."

Adjusting the brim of his hat to keep the water out of his eyes Angus approaches, giving a low whistle as he looks over the chaos. "Lets try not to kill all of them." He mutters to no one in particular as his hand rests on the grip of the rapier at his side

"RULES OF ENGAGEMENT IS TO SHOOT THEM IF THEY'RE ATTACKING YOU!" A gracefull folk Rabit yells out to Cassidy, before popping a crossbow bolt down into one of the rioters head! The group below barely keeping them contained as convicts pull one of the guards away from the line by his towershielf, frantic pleading for help following from him before he's silenced and the shield wall takes a step back. "Don't wait damnit! Help us or they'll swarm out into the city!" The Tortoise narrowing his eyes at Johnny and his knife as his attention is caught halfway between the two as he snarls. "Damn it Johnny this isn't the place or -time- for that, either help or get out of the way!"

Angus furrows his brow as he watches the shield wall step back as one of their own are pulled into the mob to be silenced, and he sighs as he draws his Rapier. "Right, lets not make it a blood bath." He murmurs once more as he turns his gaze to the Tortoise, then to the wall as he takes a step forward. "Anyone know water magic?"

Cassidy closes her eyes and cracks a little grin under her mask. "Good enough for me," she says, holding out her hands as she turns her focus inward, letting her eyes open again as she starts to work the math over in her head, seeking to ignite the ground beneath the rioters. Fortunately, she doubted any of them would notice her a threat until it had already happened, as it would take her a moment to start the flames. She was looking forward to getting to test this.

Wulf spits out into the crowd and shouts to Angus as she takes aim on the legs of the rioters out there. "Fine Angus, fine! But if we die I'm blaming you!" And her gun releases a loud retor and a flash of blue math along the barrel to speeed the round towards some unfortunate target. By the time it's gone she is already readying up her next shot, until she is given a priority target she'll be focussing on maiming some rioters.

Johnny stretches and thinks about it. "Yeah alright I guesss I'll help." he says, his bow coming out as he aims at someone he paticularly dislikes, and lets it fly.

Cassidy's spell does -wonders- for the guards on the ground, a large amount of the inmates fleeing while now on fire, and those remaining lack the means to fire up at her in retaliation! Followed shortly by Johnny's arrow finding the individual next to his target, and wulf takes out another's knee for him to now be crippled in the flames. The Guards finally given some breathing room as the remaining inmates dash for the Prison.

"Finally... Shit. Thank you lot for coming, we thought we were done for. Somehow someone bew a hole in the wall from the outside, and managed to attack into the prison and start a riot... They killed a majority of our markmen too, and made their way inside before I could stop them. Me and the boys had to contain the ones trying to escape."

Angus shrugs his shoulders a bit and looks to the hole. "Someone blew their way in? I wonder what they were after. Are you storing anything of intrest in the Prison at the moment, anything you confiscated?" He asks curiously as he allows those with ranged weapons to help pick off the inmates.

Cassidy folds her arms, nodding at the results and hops down to approach the captain and Angus. "Is Gregor alright? What about the con woman? She said she might be targeted about any information that was revealed. It's entirely possible someone was targeting one of those two. Or both of them. I think we should check it out." She turns and looks towards the hole blown in the wall and flexes her fingers again. "Shall we?"

Wulf thumbs at her nose as the immediate threat dies out. "That's what I was thinkin, though not in so many words. The question is who did they blow a wall in the side of the prison to get. Eh?" The Husky looks out over the scene in front of themm. "Any high profile criminals get placed in here recently? The kind that would have followers willing to blow a hole to get them out?"

Johnny shakes his head. "Jus means the guards are slacking, tons of low-lives have a feeling of kinship, and then theres that one guild who will do something like this just for code. He does tsk as his target is missed, but, he hit someone. Hopefully no one he knew. "If you're going in that's a bad idea in general without clearing this mob first, there are probably stragglers and you don't want to be caught from both sides."

"The mob's thinned enough now me and the archers can take care of them. Thanks to the fireworks, many are injured, so they'll be busy moaning for healing instead of trying to escape." The Tortoise huffing as he cranes his neck, and sure enough there were only twelve still ready to fight, and after another volley fromt he guards on the wall, nine with three clutching arrows in their legs. "We have three targets inside of the prison they may have been heading to, possibly four. There's that Gregor fella, we've already recieved a fair share of mail demanding his freedom, the Con artist that was arrested with him, and Guard Captain Lunaxia... The fourth is some mage from cliffside she had taken in last night to be detained. If I understand correctly, she had told me something about a book with information about threats to the public?"

The Lieutenant motions to his men, whom begin to move to the remaining convicts that soon surrender. "Gregor and the Con artist are in the left wing, and the captain and her guest were supposed to be in the right. She -may- have left already with them, it's hard to say... Either way, those are the only high value prisoners we have in there that -I- know of. If you all head into there and take one wing, I'll mop up here and send the boys to clear out the remaining one... The guard detachments shouldn't be far behind."

Angus watches the guard surround the rest of the convicts. "So, we take left or we take right. Anyone want to choose or shall we go make sure the guard captain is still alive alongside her guest?" he asks as he taps the flat of his blade against his side impatiently.

Cassidy narrows her eyes and turns to stride off into the hole. "I've heard enough. If anything gets in my way, I'm turning them to ash." Without another word, she ducks into the prison, a small hilt finding its way into her hand as she intends to find out what's going on in right wing.

Wulf calls to Angus and the rest of the crew heading in. "I'll stay here and stand watch Angus and company. Someone might slip by and make their way out." She takes up a position providing cover for both enterences and the only way pout besides the enterence.

Johnny shakes his head. "If I see the con artist I'm shooting her, I won't go looking for her and no one else would either, she's nothin but trash. I'm sure someone would try and free Gregor, but I'm not interested in looking if that's the case. I say we look for the mage or the captain. And a book? That sounds familiar..." he says before he tilts his head and moves after Cassidy.

:The tortoise adjusts his armor as the group departs into the tunnels, calling out to his guards as it seemed they'd follow in shortly after, before he looks to Wulf. "My archers can watch the entrance, your friends may need you." His voice soft and with concern before he begins to drag all the convicts against the wall one by one.

Inside of the building, it was cold and dark, as it seems whomever had charged in had extinguished most of the torches. Guards and inmates litter the path, as it seems some of the ones that had been inside were not spared the brutality of the fighting. As the group would travel, they'd soon find the intersection, the path to the left flickering with the shadows of flames, while the right had a trail of blood as though someone had been dragged into it... All leading up to a thick door that had been ripped from it's hinges, and left to lay against the wall. Beyond the door though, it seemed to get almost unnaturally dark...

Angus gives Wulf a nod before he follows after Cassidy, eyes training on the shadows in case of an ambush as they come up to the split in the path. He looks left, then looks right before he points at the trail of blood, then to the door. "Seems like a good enough invitation to me."

Cassidy draws one of her daggers as she moves through the prison, heedless of the dark and the bodies. She probably looked rather like a cultist herself, all things considered. She looks along the bloody trail and turns, following it to the right. She holds her left hand up, attempting to conjure up a small flame in her hand to provide light in the darkness. A simple parlour trick, really.

Wulf squints at the captain and nods. "Fine, but if I hear about someone escaping I won't be very happy, ya got that?" Getting up from her spot she makes her way in and start to follow Angus and the group, bringin up the rear so that she can use her Musket or have time to drag out her saber if need be.

Johnny considers the options at the moment, his score to settle can wait. He says "Can somoene throw some fireballs out that way?" as he points to the un-natural darkness. "Whoever went that way is probably long dead." he adds as he looks to the blood, and the trail. "And thats a rather sad ah... ploy."

The unnatural darkness seems to quiver for a moment as a small voice can be heard, a soft gurgling mixing in behind it. "So that's where they are heading... Go after them. I'll deal with these ones." A sickening crack following, before the darkness condenses it a wave that pushes through the hall at the group! a small space to the sides to duck into a for those fortunate to recognize the threat heading for them... And it seems the majority of the group do manage to take advantage of the cover, but unfortunatly for Cassidy she's hit full force by the wave of darkness! The Fennec carried off her feet as she'd feel it cake over her eyes to obstruct her vision, temporarily blinding her ontop of the force of being slammed into the wall along the side of the hall rather violently!

Standing there in the doorway then, is a raven woman, clad with a lather mask over her face, and ragged robes trailing down as thick massess of dark math shadows swirl around her, and dull white eyes stare out into the hallway. "As for you... Darkness shall consume you."

Angus jumps out of the way of the oncoming darkness, his gaze flashing red as his cousin is assaulted by it. With a growl he steps forward, blade bursting into flames. "you can try." He snaps back as he moves forward, the tip of his blade on level with his throat as he moves into a high guard.

Cassidy almost drops her dagger as she's slammed against the wall by the darkness that she was unable to avoid. After she slumps back down to floor, she slowly begins to rise once more. Shame, seems she cannot see! She's not about to let that stop her though, as she brings up her free hand, mumbling under her breath as she sends out a blast of super heated air to engulf everything in front of her. Which hopefully includes her presently-unseen foe.

Wulf will stay right where she is... the time is not ready for her to duck out and shoot at the damn cultist and things only get worse as Angus starts to head in and Cassidy let's loose with a nasty spell. Nope, she'll sit right here till she can do soething without fear of getting hit or hitting her own fellows.

Johnny sticks to the wall when he sees that someone is preparing some mathematics, smart guy stuff ain't nothing to take lightly. He pulls out his pistol and tries to prepare himself for an offensive attack, perhaps a chance to settle his score. "Is this about that Olgsh punk?:

The Raven merely laughs at Angus' words, before cassidy's flames coat both the fox, and the raven! Her shadows moving quickly over her to extinguish the flames, leaving her with a slightly burnt pride as angus is left with his back on fire!

The Raven's hands draw darkness around them as she slams her fist into the ground, another wave of darkness pushing through the hall with enough force to crack and damage the divits the group was hiding in, though thankfully for all involved those out in the open have managed to take shelter once more! "No." Is all the Raven says, perhaps in reply to Johnny?
