What happened to you?"<br> <br>Selena quirks a brow at the familiar voice and looks over the spirit. "Simple. Shailah told us to ask for you." She replies to the spirit before recognising it's there. "...Well, fancy that." She mutters, then looks back over the deer spirit. "It's... Good to see you again?" She greets, still a little awkward. "Mirana, if I was you I'd start acting more like a mother." She replies with a decidedly bitter tone, then back to the deer - distancing herself from the fox. "You might be aware there's old one activity in Mossy stone. Dead from their graves..." A sigh as she continues. "And Many beings would like it back. So, I'll ask you this: What are your terms?" Evidently, the prior discussion has taken its toll on her either way.<br> <br>~We are all kin, of a sorts. Though our tie to your kind is thin. I feel this will change over time, as we dance around the sun, our link will become something great, or all will be lost. I am Kadrac.~ It says the last as if tired of its name being mispronounced, ~Why do you call me? Do you wish to give yourself to me, and accept my path?~ It is a tall being, imposing, majestic, and seemingly fully capable of righteous fury, unlike the gentle and loving Shaila. This is one that one could call a god easily. Its speech is much more direct than the first time it had appeared, and it seems to speak only for itself, rather than serving as host for all spirits at once. ~You wish to combat my brother?~ it asks, ~Are you ready to take up arms, to strike at the foulness and purge it so that pure things may yet grow again?~<br> <br>More patroling, more combat. Angus mutters as he follows Ictus into the clearing, and blinks. "Um...what?" This was something new to him, as he turns to the spirit and just stares, completly confused. Looking around he notices a few familiar faces, before his attention is drawn to his sister and her new look. "okkkaaayyyy, anyone mind telling me whats going on? As I have no clue."<br> <br>Mirana hears Selena's words and sighs, "You have a point Selena, I... I was wrong, and you have my appologies." Then she hears Ictus and looks over to him, "Ictus! What, oh Ictus.." she says, and would run over to him, except she is sure her dress wouldn't survive it, so instead she walks genegerly, "Ictus..." she says again as she presses into a hug on her fellow fox. "Remind me to talk to Father about the... formalities of what I intend." she says coyly. She looks back to the Deer and smiles, "This spirit's... kin, I've taken a, pact with ... it." she seems to have as much trouble with gender as Dio was having. When Angus approches, she is about to give him a similar, but muted treatment she gave Ictus, when she stops, "Angus... something, isn't right." She says, eaching up to her new ear ring.<br> <br>Sveta eyes the spirit and forces herself to stand her ground. "Selena had questions for you, noble spirit. Although I personally am not sure I wish to walk the path you propose. I would rather outwit him. Less blood, and less messiness that way. But still, the questions she asks you, I would like to hear the answers to, too."<br> <br>Issi looks up from her hiding spot at the new voice. Another spirit? She keeps herself low, with more new appearances making themselves known. Today could be worse... Yet somehow she doubts that.<br> <br>"If we can guess their names, perhaps we can just call out everyone," Dio jokes, sitting down upon the floor and crossing his legs as he looks towards the new arrivals. "Hello there lads, suppose we haven't met before. Angus and Ictus is what I heard? We've met two of these things today," he points, gesturing towards the rather impressive god figure. "Hmm, so a possible battle to reclaim loss territoy is it? Seems quite interesting.<br> <br>Ictus looks at Angus and shakes his head, "These spirits have been coming in lately." he motions to Kadrac before he blinks at Mira again and blushes as he returns the hug, "You have? What... What happened?" he looks her over as if trying to see if something happened with her other than the earring, and new sizes. He looks at Dio and nods slowly, "Another one?" he asks confusedly<br> <br>Selena nods to Sveta. "Apologies, Kadrac. It would make both of us, but we were told you were also the one presiding over wisdom. And if that wisdom can end a conflict with as little blood as possible, then yes. And... Could you explain the antlers you left behind? I'm still at a loss for what they're meant to be for." She replies to the spirit, surprisingly unabashedly. The arrival of Angus goes unnoticed until Mirana brings up his name. "Angus? What brings you out here?" She asks, distracted from a moment, the irritation and bitterness faded.<br> <br>~You have forged a tie with Shaila, and in so, an indirect tie to me. Your words reach me, and I am present.~ The deer like being, Kadrac, levels a finger at Angus directly, ~You may prove your sincerity by purging this disease to start. You, agent of my lost kin, you are bold to stand before me. Do you carry message from them, or is there no reason to delay in your dispatching?~<br> <br>Angus blinks, and his fur stands on end as Mira says something is wrong, and then the spirits finger is leveled at him. He was to be purged? Not going to happen, his hand travels down to the blade at his side and glares. "I'm an agent to no one. And carry no message, I did not come here to harm you." Great, first time he meets one of the spirits and its already trying to kill him.<br> <br>Mirana backs slightly away from Allistar, and Ictus by default, "Something... isn't right... who.." then the words from Kadrac reach her, "No! Please, this humble one asks of you Great Spirit, before we, dispatch him, may we have the chance to... heal him first." she asks, looking over to the stange fox. Her skin crawls, and she wants to just reach out and take the wrong away, but, something makes her recoil back. She looks very sad, as a mother who just learned of the loss of a child. Unsure of what to do, but trusting in Shaila, she eventually walks, carefully up to Allistar and does just what she feels she should do, hugs him, tightly.<br> <br>"Yes!" Dio shouts, nodding at Ictus. "There was a another spirit that, I must admit, was quite the looker and gave me the pillow you see here." Within his hands, he reveals the small pillow in question, giving it a few firm squeezes. "Disease?" The feline looks towards Kadrac, and then back at Angus with a slightly concerned expression. Slowy, he approaches Angus with long strides and soon lands only a few feet from him. "You gotta disease there, fo- Whoa!" He shouts, immediately jumping back after seeing the flash of a blade. "Careful now! We don't gotta get violent here."<br> <br>Ictus blinks at Kadrac and shakes his head, "No, you will not hurt Allistar here... As he said, he is an agent of no one but himself." he looks at Mira curiously and hmms, "Can it be done?" he looks to Dio and nods, "I see, and you could say that I guess..."<br> <br>Selena glances back at Angus again with a surprised look. "Excuse me?" She asks the spirit, pausing for a momen to double-take. "...Angus isn't the kind of being to join hands with your 'brothers', unless I'm severely mistaken - a moment?" She comments, moving over to the fox. "Ok. Angus, Do you have any chakra relating to the old ones on you, or anything else?" She asks with a sigh, calling back over her shoulder. "After our last meeting, I doubt he'd have come here if he was aware of your... Stance on the matter. I can vouch for him unless he's gone off the deep end. Is there something I should know about how the old ones operate, then?"<br> <br>The spirit seems unphased by any exposed blades, ~Your allies seek your cleansing. What say you?~ Kadrac asks, staring at Angus, into him, gazing with those eyes that have seen more years than most beings can count. Its dense muscles are tightly corded under the fur, as if poised to some great act.<br> <br>Issi was of course right. Things could get worse. She moves through the grass away from Allistar, combat was the last thing she needed. Unfortunately she stumbles making haphazard ruslings in the grass, landing flat on her back with a small "Ouf."<br> <br>Angus is....hugged? That was not what he expected and he blinks at Mira, his blade arm now trapped as he snears at Kadrac. "Yes, I do have a chakra piece related to the old ones Selena. And I do believe that I'm still in my right mind." He had never faced a spirit before, didn't even know of it could defeat him in one blow. But that doesn't mean he wasn't foolish enough to try if it came down to it.<br> <br>Sveta frowns at Angus. "What is the meaning of this, Allistar? Why is everyone acting so strangely? And why does everyone call you Angus?"<br> <br>"Old ones? Chakra pieces?" Dio scratches lightly at his head, his hand flowing through his mane for a short while as he attempts to comprehend all the additional information and new faces. Certainly an interesting time to walk into town. "I'm not quite sure yer in tha right mind der, fox-kit." A large finger slowly comes towards Angus, poking at his stomach as he crouches down and chuckles. "Wanna duel a spirit or somethin'?<br> <br>Mirana retracts her hug, and squarms slightly, "Cast it aside! Remove it and be gone with it!" She says, in a way, stern yet loving. "It brings you great harm, more then you could now." she says still not recognising her brother, till someone calls him by name, "Angus!? Young man, take that evil thing out of your pendent this minute!" She shouts to her borther, then looks to Ictus, "I'll explain everything after this is solved."<br> <br>Ictus looks to Allistar and shakes his head, "Allistar... Don't challenge the spirit, you don't want to throw you're life away do you?" he frowns before he nods to Mira in acceptance, "Alright." he looks to the others with a sigh<br> <br>Selena shakes her head, moving over to the fox. A calculated gesture and a crack runs through the center of the old one's jewel, enough to deactivate it for the time being - completely ignoring Mirana's tirade. "You can put your sword away and start explaining yourself. You don't fight this kind of being unless you want to die. Even I can tell that, and I've backtalked them."<br> <br>Kadrac brings his large hands together, and draws them apart. A finely raught staff materializes in the space vacated, both of its ends capped with wickedly sharp looking bits of jet black metal. As he grips it firmly, it begins to glimmer with a pulsing green energy, matching the bright green patterns in his fur, ~You have been asked a question out of consideration for my sister's only caller. Answer now, or I will presume it. Do you wish cleansing?~ Despite the tension in the air, Issi's fall is noticed by the deer. With a soft wave of a hand, she is quite suddenly lifted up, the ground cradling her and forming a chair for her in an upright position. Strange priorities, this spirit has.<br> <br>Angus turns his gaze to Dio as he is poked, and sighes as Mirana lets him go and wants an explanation. But when Selena breaks the jewel set into his pendant he blinks, and snarls as he turns his gaze to Kadrac. "Cleansed? Cleansed of what, the old ones taint? Of course I do! I wanted to get rid of it the second I heard the voices, the second I drew breath again. But you know what, if I didn't use that chakra piece I wouldn't be hear talking to you. I would be dead." He stares at the staff and then to Kadrac before he sighs. "I didn't want to die..."<br> <br>Mirana looks to Angus sternly, "Keep your hand from that sword, and answer my patrion's brother, dear brother of mine. I'd.... I'd weep till the end of my days..." she says, biting her lip softly at the possiblities. Looking over to Issi, she gasps slightly, and nods to Kadrac, "You are as kind as the one I call..." she says back to him. Once Angus speaks up she holds him tightly, "Tell me whta happened, after this is done..." she says to him, and looks to Kedric for his answer to what Angus says, then, she draws Ictus over to the embrase as well.<br> <br>"Nobody wants to die, fox-kit," Dio chuckles, suddenly rising from his crouches position and staring at Angus with a warm gaze. "After all, look at me." The lion points to his dense array of scars covering various spaces on his face and hands, little hints of scars showing through the space provided under his linen shirt. "I've had many a close call in my travels, fox-kit. Ya just gotta move on. And look at that!" Dio backs away, smile growing even brighter after seeing the loving embrace. "Looks like you gotta lovely family too. How nice. I don't know much about what you're sayin', but it sounds like they're worried about ya."<br> <br>Selena looks back to the fox and tilts her ears back. "You should've told us..." She sighs, giving the fox a stern look, though her tone's more of concern than anything else before she looks back to the spirit. "If I had the ability to do so, I'd have offered to cleanse him. ~You are not mine, but you call,~ Comes a new mental voice, firmer than Shaila's by far, ~How is it you speak my true name?~ Ah, a familiar visage, to some, the great deer like spirit with the patterned fur of dizzying complexity and intricate design.
Sveta shrugs. "You're forgiven, Selena. I get mad myself. But I will digress on camping out here - for one, I have duties at the Craft School to attend to, and secondly, whenever one of these spirits appears, Gifted like us appear to be called to them. If and when this 'Kendrac' chooses to manifest himself, I have the suspicion he'll announce his arrival similarly. Since these spirits do what they like, I have my doubts that camping out here in the woods will hasten his -" Sveta winces as the deer-like spirit appears. "Speak of..."
Mirana can't help but sigh, "Selena, please, I mean you no disrespect, you or Arimia, I... love you both, I trusted you both, and still would like to. No, I'm not blind that I have evidence of my claims, but, what would you do if, without them having any knowledge of it, hwo would you react? But... Selena, I do trust you, if you advice me to walk up to the king and summon my patrion, I'll arrange to do it." she says. When the new one appears she looks suddenly over to them, shaking quite a bit across her altered form. "Hello, are.. you kin to the Great Spirit Shaila?" she asks the odvious.
"Selena and Arimia, eh? Interesting names," Dio murmurs, looking towards the other two with a friendly smile. "'fraid I don't know too much about what's bein' discussed. Perhaps I'll have ta grab a summary later. Now if you'll excus-" The lion twists around, his attention suddenly caught by a new being entering the forest. "Wow," he says in astonishment. "Does this sort of thing happen everyday around here?"
Not having heard Shaila's call himself but having been on patrol somewhat nearby, Ictus blinks as he comes across the clearing, "What...?" then he notices the spirit and ponders a bit, "I must've missed something..." he blinks as he Spots Mira and blinks a bit more, "M-Mira? What happened to you?"
Selena quirks a brow at the familiar voice and looks over the spirit. So, I'll ask you this: What are your terms?" Evidently, the prior discussion has taken its toll on her either way.
~We are all kin, of a sorts. ~You wish to combat my brother?~ it asks, ~Are you ready to take up arms, to strike at the foulness and purge it so that pure things may yet grow again?~
More patroling, more combat. As I have no clue."
Mirana hears Selena's words and sighs, "You have a point Selena, I... When Angus approches, she is about to give him a similar, but muted treatment she gave Ictus, when she stops, "Angus... something, isn't right." She says, eaching up to her new ear ring.
Sveta eyes the spirit and forces herself to stand her ground. "Selena had questions for you, noble spirit. Although I personally am not sure I wish to walk the path you propose. I would rather outwit him. Less blood, and less messiness that way. But still, the questions she asks you, I would like to hear the answers to, too."
Issi looks up from her hiding spot at the new voice. Another spirit? She keeps herself low, with more new appearances making themselves known. Today could be worse... Yet somehow she doubts that.
"If we can guess their names, perhaps we can just call out everyone," Dio jokes, sitting down upon the floor and crossing his legs as he looks towards the new arrivals. "Hello there lads, suppose we haven't met before. Angus and Ictus is what I heard? We've met two of these things today," he points, gesturing towards the rather impressive god figure. "Hmm, so a possible battle to reclaim loss territoy is it? Seems quite interesting.
Ictus looks at Angus and shakes his head, "These spirits have been coming in lately." he motions to Kadrac before he blinks at Mira again and blushes as he returns the hug, "You have? What... What happened?" he looks her over as if trying to see if something happened with her other than the earring, and new sizes. He looks at Dio and nods slowly, "Another one?" he asks confusedly
Selena nods to Sveta. "Angus? What brings you out here?" She asks, distracted from a moment, the irritation and bitterness faded.
~You have forged a tie with Shaila, and in so, an indirect tie to me. Your words reach me, and I am present.~ The deer like being, Kadrac, levels a finger at Angus directly, ~You may prove your sincerity by purging this disease to start. You, agent of my lost kin, you are bold to stand before me. Do you carry message from them, or is there no reason to delay in your dispatching?~
Angus blinks, and his fur stands on end as Mira says something is wrong, and then the spirits finger is leveled at him. He was to be purged? Not going to happen, his hand travels down to the blade at his side and glares. "I'm an agent to no one. And carry no message, I did not come here to harm you." Great, first time he meets one of the spirits and its already trying to kill him.
Mirana backs slightly away from Allistar, and Ictus by default, "Something... isn't right... who.." then the words from Kadrac reach her, "No! Unsure of what to do, but trusting in Shaila, she eventually walks, carefully up to Allistar and does just what she feels she should do, hugs him, tightly.
"Yes!" Dio shouts, nodding at Ictus. We don't gotta get violent here."
Ictus blinks at Kadrac and shakes his head, "No, you will not hurt Allistar here... As he said, he is an agent of no one but himself." he looks at Mira curiously and hmms, "Can it be done?" he looks to Dio and nods, "I see, and you could say that I guess..."
Selena glances back at Angus again with a surprised look. Is there something I should know about how the old ones operate, then?"
The spirit seems unphased by any exposed blades, ~Your allies seek your cleansing. What say you?~ Kadrac asks, staring at Angus, into him, gazing with those eyes that have seen more years than most beings can count. Its dense muscles are tightly corded under the fur, as if poised to some great act.
Issi was of course right. Things could get worse. She moves through the grass away from Allistar, combat was the last thing she needed. Unfortunately she stumbles making haphazard ruslings in the grass, landing flat on her back with a small "Ouf."
Angus is....hugged? That was not what he expected and he blinks at Mira, his blade arm now trapped as he snears at Kadrac. "Yes, I do have a chakra piece related to the old ones Selena. And I do believe that I'm still in my right mind." He had never faced a spirit before, didn't even know of it could defeat him in one blow. But that doesn't mean he wasn't foolish enough to try if it came down to it.
Sveta frowns at Angus. "What is the meaning of this, Allistar? Why is everyone acting so strangely? And why does everyone call you Angus?"
"Old ones? Chakra pieces?" Dio scratches lightly at his head, his hand flowing through his mane for a short while as he attempts to comprehend all the additional information and new faces. Certainly an interesting time to walk into town. "I'm not quite sure yer in tha right mind der, fox-kit." A large finger slowly comes towards Angus, poking at his stomach as he crouches down and chuckles. "Wanna duel a spirit or somethin'?
Mirana retracts her hug, and squarms slightly, "Cast it aside! Remove it and be gone with it!" She says, in a way, stern yet loving. "It brings you great harm, more then you could now." she says still not recognising her brother, till someone calls him by name, "Angus!? Young man, take that evil thing out of your pendent this minute!" She shouts to her borther, then looks to Ictus, "I'll explain everything after this is solved."
Ictus looks to Allistar and shakes his head, "Allistar... Don't challenge the spirit, you don't want to throw you're life away do you?" he frowns before he nods to Mira in acceptance, "Alright." he looks to the others with a sigh
Selena shakes her head, moving over to the fox. A calculated gesture and a crack runs through the center of the old one's jewel, enough to deactivate it for the time being - completely ignoring Mirana's tirade. "You can put your sword away and start explaining yourself. You don't fight this kind of being unless you want to die. Even I can tell that, and I've backtalked them."
Kadrac brings his large hands together, and draws them apart. Strange priorities, this spirit has.
Angus turns his gaze to Dio as he is poked, and sighes as Mirana lets him go and wants an explanation. "I didn't want to die..."
Mirana looks to Angus sternly, "Keep your hand from that sword, and answer my patrion's brother, dear brother of mine. I'd.... I'd weep till the end of my days..." she says, biting her lip softly at the possiblities. Looking over to Issi, she gasps slightly, and nods to Kadrac, "You are as kind as the one I call..." she says back to him. Once Angus speaks up she holds him tightly, "Tell me whta happened, after this is done..." she says to him, and looks to Kedric for his answer to what Angus says, then, she draws Ictus over to the embrase as well.
"Nobody wants to die, fox-kit," Dio chuckles, suddenly rising from his crouches position and staring at Angus with a warm gaze. How nice. I don't know much about what you're sayin', but it sounds like they're worried about ya."
Selena looks back to the fox and tilts her ears back. "You should've told us..." She sighs, giving the fox a stern look, though her tone's more of concern than anything else before she looks back to the spirit. "If I had the ability to do so, I'd have offered to cleanse him. If I knew that he was hearing things, I'd have tried to find help sooner." She says with a quiet sigh. "This is why I'm seeking you out - so things like this don't happen in the first place. So they don't have the chance to, or so they can be fixed."
Sveta leans back against a nearby tree and ruffles her feathers. Clearly, her and Selena's questions have been forgotten by the spirit - and rightfully so, considering what's going on with Allistar. Or Angus. Or whomever he really turned out to be. No wonder she'd felt something was off about him at their first meeting...but everything in good time. Once this 'cleansing' is dealt with, perhaps the questions can come.
The spirit is gone. Then he is back. Skipping through the intermediate distance, Kadrac is before Angus, already bringing down his staff in what looks like a killing blow. When the spear-staff is drawn back, there is no blood, but Angus can feel where it jabbed with a soft aching despite the lack of physical wound. ~Do not surrender to their foul temptations again.~ It says, like a firm father berating a folish child.
Ictus hmms? at Selena and nods in agreement before he blinks at the spirit, "As long as it doesn't kill him." he looks back to Angus and nods in agreement, 'No one ever does." he looks to Mira as she embraces him and smiles a little as he returns it before he looks to the others with a nod of agreement. He blinks at the sudden blow and winces as he expects Angus to drop dead...
Mirana listens all around to everyone, even more so Dio, "Yes... I love my brother... more brightly now then I've ever known before." she says, and, once the spirit's strike takes the horrid taint of the old ones from him, she gives a slight squeel of glee, and hugs him tight enough to actually deny him air! Do you accept this?~
Ictus looks to Selena and ponders a bit before he nods to Kadrac, "If you can grant me the power to protect my friends and family... I will accept you as well." he looks at Angus and nods as he pats him on the shoulder, "I know you weren't." he smiles a bit before watching the the ceremony with interest
Issi sits there on the dirt chair with her arms crossed, again saying nothing. She doesn't know what just happened, but apparently it was important. Hopefully this kind of attitiude was not one shared with her own kind, yet knowing her kin, it wouldn't surprise her.
Mirana hugs on Angus a bit more before looking back to Kadrac, "I have already accepted your sister's blessing Great Spirit, but this gives me questions, is it possible to accept the blessing of more then one?" she asks. She nods to Dio, "I.. should apologise for my rudeness.. I am Mirana Solacious, Angus' older sister." she says, patting Angus on the shoulder a moment. Sveta blinks and steps over to Selena. "Are you absolutely sure? If your questions are answered, then...well, I will not stop you. But I'm not sure if this is something to be taken in haste." She stands beside Selena and faces Kadrac. "Pardon me, great spirit, but as I mentioned before, I am not a warrior, even though I can draw steel when need be.
