A soft rumble leaves Flora's muzzle, a flick of her tails. "In here, miss Cassidy. Friend Brutus should be arriving soon, which would give you enough time to handle the paperwork, yes yes," she mumbles, wandering off and returning with a contract of sorts... It seems to be some sort of non-disclosure-agreement.

Cassidy takes the document and raises her brow before peering down at it. She actually takes the time to start reading every last word on it. "Paperwork, huh? Hopefully not too much. I'm not fond of paperwork, really. But yes, I look forward to finally getting this out of the way."

With a creak of the door, Brutus enters, the tapping of his walking stick echoing in the foyer. His renewed sense of purpose seemed to be doing him well--he no longer seemed as hopelessly winded as when he usually answers Flora's summons--and he approaches the gathered pair with pleasant mein and a slight bow. "Lady Longtail, Lady Solacious, well met on this fine day."

A smile, a tailflick, a rumble, and Flora waits for Cassidy to sign the document, helpfully offering up a pen inscribed with the LongTech Industies seal.

Once the vixen's signed the documen and Brutus has taken his seat, Flora pulls out a roll of paper, smiling faintly and offering it up to Brutus first and foremost.

Cassidy contemplates for a moment before indeed signing the document and handing it over. "It is nice to see you as well. The days have been finding you better, I hope?" She rubs at her tired face and leans back, folding one leg over the other beneath her black scaled robe.

Brutus peruses the document, nodding along as he reads it. He raises his brows as he rolls it back up, proffering it back to Flora. "I must say, I'm surprised, but impressed. Any word from the foreign lands, or will we still have to pay them all visits?" He looks to Cassidy with what seems to be a slight yet genuine smile. "Thank you. It hurts still, but each day it hurts somewhat less." He folds his hands together. "Though I am keen to prove myself to Adrestia and see if I've earned her...acceptance yet," he adds, tapping the plain silver pendant upon his chest with the rolled up scroll.

"We will need to speak with each country's government and church separately, yes," the she-cat murrs with a faint smile, before turning to cassidy. "This is... An idea Flora is quite excited about. Renting out ideas instead of keeping them hidden. This here," she mumbles, gesturing at the roll of paper. "Is a missive from Sweetwater's church, noting that IF sweetwater makes laws to accomodate for the plan, the church is willing to try and implement such a system, yes."

Cassidy peers at the paper for a moment. "It is good to hear that," she remarks, looking to Flora for a moment. "Renting out ideas? How do you mean, exactly?" She looked a little confused at the idea, but then, she was generally for the free exchange of information anyway.

Brutus clears his throat, speaking in a measured baritone. "By treating ideas as property instead of trade secrets, we could make money selling ideas instead of manufacture. This cuts down on our costs, since we no longer have to pay to build items, and craftsbeings no longer rely on their tradesguild. Thry just go to the Church, ask if a device exists, and buy the rights to reproduce it, for a fee paid back to the owner of the idea." He clears his throat again. "A novel idea, to be sure, but I see potential in it."

"As Friend Brutus says. This way, beings that wish their ideas to be used, but haven't the funds to do it themselves can help others who do. Beings that wish to simply invent, not market, they can. And we, as LongTech Industries, can put those ideas we cannot utilize ourselves up, and allow people to use them. For this to work, however... We need global laws, yes. We can't just do this in sweetwater and be happy with it. Cliffside, Shralesta, Thera'Dor... All countries need to support it to make this a reality."

Cassidy closes her eyes, mulling over the words. "I suppose it seems like an okay idea, as long as it doesn't become a ploy for money. And it would be quite a task to get all countries involved on the same idea without making alterations that would then need to be confirmed with the others..." She strokes her chin for a moment, a frown spreading across her face. I worry about the implications that would arise if two people had similar ideas, though. Each of them did not know about the other, and one only has the idea which he wants to rent out, while the other actually starts to market it. What do you do then, when one person accuses the other?"

Brutus bites his lower lip with a nod. "Aye, there are many contingencies that would need to be considered during lawmaking, and we shall week out the details as they come. If I understand Lady Flora correctly, though, her initial concern is worth getting all the nations to accept this concept of...ideal property. Once they do, they may refine its implementation as they please." He friends slightly. "My biggest concern is opposition from the guilds, simply because they do not wish to lose their control of members' ideas..."

"Laws will have to be made for situations like that, yes. Ideally, everyone brings in their ideas, and notes if they wish to implement it themselves, or let others do it... As for money-making... It is intended as an alternative to trade-secrets. A way for information to not get lost, while the inventor can still see to their basic needs on the merits of their ideas. All problems will have to be worked out, but... Flora envisions it as each country having its own rules regarding the ways to handle offenders and the investigation, but the same rules for determining what counts as an offense... In either case... Flora would like to extend an invitation to miss Cassidy to assist in realizing this plan. Flora is also working on a travel-plan, and our first stop will be Shralesta, yes. Flora does not expect rapid results, or even results while we're there, but there are... Other reasons we visit Shralesta first."

Cassidy tents her fingers and rests her chin on them, a pensive look on her face. "As long as this isn't going to penalize people for having similar ideas to one that someone else had already put forward, then I suppose I could support it. As for traveling..." She rubs at her cheek and frowns again. "I'm not sure. That's not exactly something easy for me to do. I can't just pack up and go traveling around for... Who knows how long. I have my work and research to tend to, and other obligations here in Firmament."

Brutus gives a friendly little smile at Cassidy. "I understand the urge to stay...though if I could help to wrap up any obligations and free you to come if you'd like, do let me know." He looks over to Flora next, tilting his head a little. "Er...Other reasons?"

"Flora wishes to visit her old home, among other things," the cat states plainly. "Visit the places Flora hung around, offer a few crown to those that currently spend their life in a situation similar to how Flora... Started out, yes. And there is a lifebond to plan as well, yes yes," she murrs with a grin, her tails twitching behind her.

Cassidy scratches her cheek again and nods. "Well... I must think on these things, but... I'll consider it, yes. And I appreciate your offer! I'll take that into consideration as well, but my research is longterm and on-going. Congratulations on your lifebonding, though. I am happy for you."
