The competitors gather outside of a very large tower situated in the forest on the west side of the river. On a podium stands a small rabbit girl bouncing with excitement. "Thank you for coming!" she shouts out as she dances about. Hopping down she says "Today is a competition to find the mirror we hid in the tower. We paid a nice snake lady bunches to hang onto it and play keep away from you all. You have to find her and get the mirror and come back to me and you win! The prize is a kiss from momma!" she says and points to her mother in the crowd, who rolls her eyes and holds up a bag of crowns and a monogramed shield. "You get the crowns and a shield once used by a very famous knight." she says and gives her daughter a look. "The rules are don't break my mirror, don't break the tower, don't seriously hurt anyone, and have funsies! Feel free to team up! GO!" With "GO!" a dozen competitors rush into the tower.

Darquan stands in the crowd that has gathered, having come with his emplyer at her request. He is outfitted in nothing more than a loincloth, which shows off his body quite well for those who are wanting to look and such. At the conclusion of the little meeting the 7 foot gator looks down to the feline nearby and asks, "Shall we head in and see what we can see?"

Peril chuckles softly, arms folded across her chest as she looked over the crowd, wondering just who the competitors were or if it was to be a massive free for all. With a flick of her tail and thought hmm she stepped out from the gathered people to get a better look and see if there were any familiar faces about, in particular one sneaky snake she knew who was find of explosions. Not really having the best point of view to study the peoples faces she waved her hand toward the gator nearby, singling him closer

The competitors have all left Peril and Darquan in the dust, rushing into the tower. The little girl ses Darquan and Peril standing outside and pouts, stamping a foot. She pushes the two of them towards the door. "Come on you're going to lose!" she says with a sense of urgency. Clearly this is an important event to the little girl.

Darquan settles to a crouch beside Peril when she motions to him, and goes so far as to pick her up and place him on his shoulders in piggyback style just before they are pushed in by their impatient hostess! He chuckles and enters the tower, definitely in no rush to get anywhere. If his employer has other things in mind, he will definitely do that instead.

Peril rolls her eyes at the little bunnies instant pushing, but quite happily accepted the gators offered hand, climbing up over his shoulders and taking up her perch behind his head where she got a much different perspective than her normal view from roughly waist high offered. I don't trust old creepy tower. This clearly might be a clever ploy, and the little bunny could actually be the minion of a dark lich bent on controlling all the people of Firmament! But just in case we better take part anyway so we can win! Onward toward victory the little cat cries as she points out over the males head toward the tower door

As the group enters the tower they can see a few competitors are searching high and low through the heavily decorated first floor. It looks as though someone is living here. A hog has completely emptied a wardrobe and a beaver is peering behind furniture. There is a staircase leading higher in the tower, as well as a couple of offshoot rooms. It doesn't look like anyone here has found anything promising.

Darquan holds onto the ankles of the feline while she remains perched on his shoulders. With the large group simply rummaging through this initial floor it doesn't take the gator very long to start heading toward the stairs. He retains the slow, unhurried gait of one who is in no rush to get anywhere quickly. He has a feeling the objective will not be hiding where she can't even fit along with the mirror.

Peril couldnt really do much from her perch on Darquan's shoulders other than look over the scene with a scene of wonder at the chaos being unleashed upon someone's home. leaning forward with head bowed down, the cat could looks into one of the males eyes as she spoke "Maybe I am just paranoid and someone really just didn't think very carefully about what would happen when they sent an army of people in to tear the place apart looking for something, but doesn't this seem a touch odd to you? Do we know who has been living here?"

As the gator and feline ascend the stairs they pass a small parrot knocked out, presumably having come to a stop here after moving quite a distance. Up ahead there is a turn off into another set of rooms, and beyond that the stairs just keep going.

Darquan nods, "That is why I am not ransacking the place but instead moving through the area as if I lived here." He turns his attention to the next set of stairs and cocks his head slightly, "Hmmm. My instincts tell me there's water ahead, yet not exactly of what sort. Good? Bad?" He proceeds toward the next set of stairs, ignoring the parrot completely while taking a glance around at what is blatantly visible the entire time.

Peril drums her fingers on the top of the males head before giving him a light tap on the snout to get his attention. Extending her arm out to where he could see it the little feline pointed down toward the ground "You better put me down. There is more than a little suspicious activity going on here. No sense in both of us walking into any traps we come across. I think someone's using all these people to get their dirty work done. Its what I would do, only less subtle".

Up the stairs there are multiple competitors on their backs, groaning and rubbing their heads. There is a faint giggling somewhere nearby as a loud "Oof" echos the floor.

Darquan sets the feline down onto her own feet just before they ascend the stairs to the next level. Perhaps a good thing, too, for what they see next has him grinning, "Looters getting what they deserve for rushing recklessly into situations they should not." A chuckle while he actually turns to head in the direction the noises are coming from, "I'll go greet our hostess while you continue the search?"

Peril nods to the male as she regains her feet, already beginning to think about the presence of water magic and working out how she could find the source of it. "Sure. Keep your wits about you though". Moving slowly and cautiously, with ears up and eyes scanning the room, she moved toward the doorway, checking high and low and most importantly directly overhead and underfoot, knowing a nasty surprise could come from any direction.

The room is full of childrens toys, with a small bed situated in the center of it all. The room Darquan looks to appears to have artwork in it, a statue blocking view of the room past the door.

With the noises having come from the room that he enters, or at least he thinks it was this room, the Gator enters it further, walking around the statue that apparently is blocking his view of things. Why this would be here is beyond him. A room of art? If nothing else is in the room he actually takes the time to examine the art, admiring what he can and such. Nothing is touched, though.

Peril regards the bell very suspiciously, but doesn't let that distract her from the other items in the room, in particular the other looters already fallen to whatever trap or attack had struck within the space. Staying close to the wall she begins to move around the edge of the floor, picking her steps carefully to avoid stepping on anything while pausing to nudge at any toys or loose items that lay close to her path.

As Darquan is admiring artwork, beautiful paintings and statues of heros of old, a well placed blow from a knuckle slugs him in the back of the head as a blur heads out the door. At the same time, one of the toys peril nudges lifts into the air, revealing an inscribed slab wich hits the tiny cat with a powerful gust of air, throwing them across the room, safely onto the bed. With a giggle the figure heads downstairs, where shouting such as "Get it!", "That hurt lady!", and "Get back here!" can be heard.

The blow to the back of the head sends the large gator sprawling to the floor...after impacting the wall and rebounding to sprawl on his back. Dazed, it takes him several moments to recover from this and he rises unsteadily to his feet even then. At least the thing that struck him left him with his modesty or he'd definitely be in trouble later. Stumbling out of the room he looks around in slight confusion and calls out, "Peril! Where are you?"

Peril does what any self respecting cat would do, and lands on all fours, dropping down into a crouch on the bed with claws extended, fingers and toes curling to bury the points in the sheets and mattress, anchoring her in place in case any further air blasts were to follow. With an irritated growl she looked about the room again, checking the floor more closely from her new vantage point before releasing her grip and making her way toward the edge of the bed already beginning to pick out a new path back to the door, one that avoided treading on any covered slabs or too close to scattered toys. Perking her ears at the sound of the gator's call she raised her voice to reply "In here. And look out, the room is trapped"

Back up the stairs comes the figure, pursued by three heavy clan competitors, two bears and a giraffe. Bite briefly waves to to Darquan and Peril as she moves, heading to the corner of the room and out an open window, moving along the ledge. One of the heavy makes a grab for her and she hisses as she slips into another open window on the floor. There doesn't appear to be any door to the room she just entered, and the two bears beat the wall dividing the rooms in fury.

Darquan wanders over to the room that he hears his employer's voice coming from only to stop rather abruptly when the snake appears from downstairs. He recognizes her and he smiles and waves at her. He starts to say something but stops when the other competitors arrive and chase her out. He is definitely amused at the result and he finishes his trek to the bedroom. Stepping just inside the door he sees where she is and comments, "Our snake target is someone we actually know. It seems Bite is the serpent we're after here."

Peril cringes as she hears mention of a familiar snake, having seen first had the kind of trouble the only snake she knows has a habit of getting into. Images of the entire tower being blown to pieces briefly cross the cats mind before she shakes her head to clear such thoughts and reassure herself nothing that bad could possible go wrong when this was all just a game. "Right... Her. Little miss not quite walking bomb. No wonder I got blown into the air here." she grumbles, reacting back to grab a pillow from the bed before slipping off its edge and down onto the floor, the billow grasped in both hands as she began picking her way across the floor toward a small block tower "You just stay close to the snake. I have something to check out"

Peril can see a switch behind the tower, next to the outline of a well hidden door. The giraffe seems to take notice too, walking towards Peril only to be bloewn aside by another slab on the floor. The bears are still furiously beating at the wall to seemingly no avail. Giggles can be hear on the other side.

Darquan nods and heads back out to the main room where all the Heavies are congregated around. Noting that the bears are still pounding away at the wall fruitlessly he shakes his head and decides to listen to the other sounds of the room while calling out, "Hey guys? The snake won't be found inside the wall. Don't you know that secret passages such as this lead to other rooms? Further upstairs, maybe?" Seems he's trying to fool the other heavies, oblivious to the findings of the giraffe and his own partner.

Peril makes her way to the block tower, feeling more than a little concerned about the precarious stack and choosing to be quite careful not to knock it over as she extended a good to press the switch while still clothing the pillow high, ready to defend herself from flying debris or sudden drops.

The bears look to Darquan then to eachother and start heading upstairs as Peril hits the switch. The door opens to reveal a new room. Bite smiles and waves to the feline, reclining on a chair.

Darquan has no idea what is going on elsewhere, and when the bears vacate the floor to head further upstairs he remains where he is for the moment, looking around once more in the center of the room.

Peril skips forward quickly, moving through the open passage with the pillow held at the ready, glancing right and then left to be sure there were no more obvious surprises before looking to the snake "No more bombs or traps or anything that is going to hurt me right?"

The serpent laughs and shakes her head. "Bombs? I haven't used any explosions here sssweetie, i'm just doing what I was paid for." she hisses and watches Peril. The giraffe gets up and peers past Peril before nudging them forward.

Darquan finally gives up on waiting for some sort of signal and calls out, "Peril! Find anything yet?" He's contemplating heading upstairs, following the bears.

Peril looks over the snake, looking for any sign of the little item the rabbit sought and then looked to the walls of the room as she moved further in checking for a means of closing the door behind her. "Don't suppose you'd just turn over the mirror to me so I can avoid a concussion?"

Bite giggles and shakes her head. "I can't do that." she hisses as almost instantly a slice of wind fires at the door, knocking it closed and preventing the Giraffe from following the feline inside. She slithers off the couch and watches Peril, presenting her knuckles and the strange armor she is wearing. Coated with inscriptions, it seems to be very old. "I have the mirror but I can't give it to you, you have to take it." she giggles.

Darquan does not hear anything from his partner to his call. He shakes his head and after a minute or two follows the bears upstairs. What better way to explore than to follow those who have gone ahead?

Peril grins to the serpent as she thinks on the wind magic that had been employed so far, working through the needed preparations for a wind blast in her mind as she took another step away from the wall and toward the serpent "Somehow, I don't think I could best you in terms of fire power. I never did go in for the brute force approach. I pay others for that and with that in mind, have you ever seen an alligator climb in through a second story window". She raised her hand, pointing to the open window.

Upstairs Darquan finds the bears scouring the floor for ways to get into the floor below. They give him a passing glance before returning to their search of the master bedroom. Dressers and drawers line the room. Meanwhile Bite giggles and smiles. "This is the third floor sssweetie." she hisses as she preps some magic. She ensures the distance between the two of them is great enough that Peril cannot reach her as she watches the feline. "Have you seen a feline fall from the third story sssweetie?"

Darquan knows no forms of magic and with the top floor being the bedroom he does not have an interest in ransacking the place for anything. He purses his lips slightly and, if there are no other staircases, he returns downstairs to the room where he had last seen his employer. Should the giraffe still be there, he is given a quizzical look.

Peril sighs softly, giving the snake a nod "Not a cat no, but I dare say snakes are no better at flying." clapping her hands back together again before throwing them open wide, the little feline released a churning torrent or air to rush around the walls of the room, stirring up dust and light debris and causing all the torches to sputter and die.

Bite giggles in the dark and shakes her head. This wasn't a bright idea, it does nothing to stop her current spell in motion. She sighs, it's about time to wrap this up and she has to play out the request. She lets loose her spell and the tower begins to shake. "If you're the first outside i'll give you the mirror." she hisses as she runs past Peril and leaps out the window. Her magic on hold she braces for impact before her armor kicks into motion. It glows brightly and just before she hits the ground a gust of air pushes her back upward before she lands on her face. Darquan gets a "The wall closed up again!" before the tower starts shaking, it looks like it would be best to leave.

Darquan does not have the look of one who understands when it comes to the explanation the Giraffe gives. He doesn't have time to ask what he means, however, when everything begins to shake and rumble. He grunts and turns to head out of the room and down the stairs. Unlike before where he was walking, he actually begins to run. Now is definitely not the time to go looking for his partner...

Peril snorts as the snake dashed for the window, the cat being quick to follow, bouncing up onto the window ledge just behind the serpent. Looking out over the ground below and the snake still in mid air the cat barley even considered her actions before leaping into the air after them, the air magic already in mind letting her though cutting through the air currents ahead and channelling them beneath her belly to cushion her descent and more importantly, direct her fall so that with tail held high and arms and legs extended below, the small feline positioned herself directly above Bite before allowing herself drop suddenly.

The snake pushes up and knocks Peril off of her before handing the mirror to the feline. "I guess you win sssweetie, good job." she hisses abefore the bunny girl comes running. "YAY we get to renovate again. Momma kiss the kitty so we can start the house over again. I don't want it to be like last year." she says as she runs. The mother rabbit looks over Peril as the competitors come running out of the building, Darquan among them. The tower stays standing, although looks compromised, much to the dismay of an assembled crew of worksman standing outside. The rabbit hands Peril a bag of crowns and a shield bearing the initials "RQ" and smiles to everyone. "Thank you for your help, now i'm going to have to ask you to leave."

Darquan rushes out of the rumbling tower along with most of the other competitors. At first he doesn't even see the feline or the snake amidst the mass of bodies, some of which are as tall as he is. It isn't until he hears the quip about being forced to leave that he finally has the presence of mind to look around. He stares rather dumbfounded at the feline and the serpent and wanders over to them, "So just what happened in there? I called out for you but you didn't answer, so I went upstairs to see what was up there."

Peril cackles with glee as she rolled off the snake, dropping down to the earth alongside them. Rising back to her feet and leaning in against the reptile the snake purred softly, nuzzling into Bite's side before raising both arms to accept the mirror which she immediately used to inspect her appearance, making sure nothing was out of place and she looked entirely presentable as she rabbit rushed up. She also naturally, gladly accepted the crows and the shield, thanking the rabbit and wishing them and their mother all the best with the reconstruction while looking back to the rather fatigued looking structure and her emerging companion giving him only a nod and a grin before holding up her prizes for his inspection.
