Mirana paces about outside the Ironforge Orphanage. She is in her finest and looking.. well.. materinal. She takes a moment and decides to sit down, rubbing on her belly, and sighing, "What could be taking them so long, they were suposed to be here an hour ago!" She explaims, looking around a moment more. Frustration is painted on her face, along with a bit of worry.

Leian wanders up to the orphanage, tilting her head curiously as she approaches, her flute held in her paw as she heads up to Mirana " Is something wrong, Mirana? I was just coming by to play for the orphans."

Hearing that perhaps the orphanage could use a little help, Dio gladly came to the vixen's call, having been helping at location here and there and donating from time to time. He seemed to enjoy the place, but perhaps that's accredited to how much of a cub he is himself! "'ello lass," the lions says, joining up with Mira and the growing group. "Need any 'elp there?"

Eriene pokes her little fuzzy head out from the door. Having heard other beings arrive from inside the front hall, she returns to her mistress' side. She glances around, smiling shyly before looking up at her lady inquiringly, her miscellaneous preparatory tasks inside already completed diligently.

Sveta hadn't exactly planned on going near the orphanage - while she admired children in their own way, they were always a little mysterious and perhaps even frightening to her - she arrived the moment she heard Mirana needed help, arriving to join the small group. "Good evening, Lady Solacious, Dio, Leian," she says, giving each of them a small bow in order. "I heard that some help could be used around here?"

Shaytalis was out in the market when she heard that there was a need for assistance at the nearby orphanage. Storytime again? She approaches and nods to the woman outside, "You are in need of assistance?"

Kialla makes her way in, though, this time she seems to be passing by as she notices the raher large gathering. It's quite a lot of people, with Mira standing in as she moves to listen to what's going on at least, offering Mira a wave in greeting from towards the rear of the crowd. A certain fox in tow.

Angus was definitly following Kialla, but in tow? Not so much. "Heard you needed assistance?" The fox asks, a hand resting on the guard of the long sword at his side. His Rapier replaced for the day as he didn't want to wear anything flashy. "Hello Leian, Dio, Mira, Shaytalis, Eriene...Sveta." After speaking the Goshawks name he pulls down the brim of his hat, hiding his eyes as he takes a step away from her.

Mirana sighs again, and pulls Eriene up into her lap, snuggling with her handmaiden as she talks, "I was trying to organise a fund raiser for the Orphanage, a banquet. But the supplies from Cliffside I ordered havn't come in! They take the most insane route I've ever heard, up into the northern areas of Sweetwater and then down through the pass. I can't imagine why, but that is how they do. Anyway, the supplier is more then two hours late! I would just go find them myself, but... I thought it better to look for others to help me while I keep organising things here." she says, looking back in through the doors to the main hall of the orphange. "Think you can find them sweeties?" she asks, giving particular attention to Angus a moment.

"Ahh, hello lass! It's good to see ya again," Dio greets, turning around to wave at Sveta's arrival. "Though it's a little early for evenin' don't ya think?" After a hearty chuckle, the lion look at the fox-in-tow and waves at him as well. "Greetings there, fox-kit." Crossing his arms, he takes a moment to listen to Mirana's account, nodding after she's finished and slamming a fist into his open palm. "I'll help ya, lass! Anythin' to help the orphanage. Suppose we get a transport 'n' search for 'em on their trail?"

Shaytalis nods, "I know the Cliffside region. Are the supplies located in the city proper, or might they have been delayed along the journey?"

Leian tilts her head slightly " Well, thats quite the difference in plans I had for doing, but sure, I can see what I cannot do, after all, my music would be best played during such a banquet. I might not be very much of use in a fighting situation if such happens, but maybe I can distract whatever may be out there with my playing, and hope for the best, if thats the case."

Eriene nuzzles the vixen, licking the underside of her muzzle affectionately before returning her gaze to the others, her ears perking to listen, hoping there was more for her to do in a bit, always wanting to be useful.

Sveta gives Angus a careful, utterly polite nod, then turns her attention back to the rest of the group. "Pardon me, my dear Lion of Acute Time Sense. A slip of the tongue - I suppose I've been up too late last night. Very well, Lady Solacious. Where should we start looking? I take it isn't far, but if it is, Dio's suggestion of some transport would be appreciated."

Angus nods slowly as he crosses his arms, an ear flicking as he thinks over the situation. "Did the supply caravan give you a map of the route they were taking?" He looks over to Dio and nods, before he turns back to Mirana. "I'll come along and see what I can do."

Kialla gives a gentle coo, "It'll be like its own adventure, plus it'll help out here." she gives, nodding to Angus with a smile. "It should be quite interesting to see what has happened." she offers up as she shifts mosto f her weight onto one food.

Mirana smiles a bit as Eriene licks on her a moment, patting the feline softly, "Well, here is their route.." she says, leaning over to pick through her pack and pull out a map with a red line going along it, up through to the pass and over accross mountain areas to the sea, where it continues most likely into Cliffside. "They could have got lost, stuck, or anything anywhere along that route, so maybe transport would be a good idea, I doubt they would still be in Cliffside though." she says. "If anything I bet they got stuck in the pass somewhere." she says, then, sets Eriene down, "Sweetie, could you go make sure the other food isn't getting cold. I'd hate to get the supplies from Cliffside only to have everything else ruined!" she says, "Anything else you need? I really need these supplies as quickly as I can get them." she says to everyone, smiling a bit, "And.. thank you all." she finishes.

"No problem lass," Dio reassures, nodding at the goshawk. "I long fer the evenings as well. An' hopefully we'll 'ave a nice banquet to look forward to if we do 're jobs right." The lion hovers over the map, taking note of the pass in particular. "'as this pass ever 'ad trouble before? Regardless, I'm ready to go if ya can arrange a cart 'r somethin'." His hands fall upon his blade's handle, where he gives it a small flick for emphasis.

Eriene's eyes sparkle brightly with pleasure up at Mirana. Briefly glancing at the others, she smiles warmly and curtsies in her little dress, mewling in response. "Of course Mistress. I'll go and talk to the kitchen and waitstaff and see if there is any way to preserve that which has already been prepared whilst delaying the rest as much as they can.

Eriene's eyes sparkle brightly with pleasure up at Mirana. Briefly glancing at the others, she smiles warmly and curtsies in her little dress, mewling in response. "Of course Mistress. I'll go and talk to the kitchen and waitstaff and see if there is any way to preserve that which has already been prepared whilst delaying the rest as much as they can." She scampers off to do as her lady bid her, an eagerness and spring in the stepping of her footpaws.

Sveta eyes Eriene as the feline runs off, then turns back to Dio. "Some, if I remember correctly. I'll leave it to someone to fill us in on the details, though. My memory isn't very clear on the subject." She steps back from the map. "I'll wait for the transport to arrive, then."

Angus looks over the map and frowns. "I know this route. Whoever is your supplier is not very smart for taking it. Rock slides, beats, there are even tales of people upsetting some of the natives and getting in trouble, or just losing their way." He waits, allowing everyone to get a view of the map before he takes it from Mirana's hands and rolls it up. "Think we should travel the path backwards. Would allow us to find them easier probably."

Leian's ears twitch as she looks at the map a moment, running her finger along the line as she examines it " Thats quite the road. How might I be useful in such a place?.. I know little else other than music, after all.. Maybe it can help keep whatever beasts at bay a bit?" she tilts her head slightly while looking up at Mirana

Shaytalis looks over the road map and nods, "Is there any advantage about the route? Speed? Why would someone choose to take it, other than simply not knowing better?"

Mirana smiles a bit as everyone agrees to help, and Eriene runs into the orphanage again. "Ok everyone, thank you again dears." She says and orders a covered cart for everyone from the suppliers who have already arrived. "But please make hurry." she says again, then to Shay, "I haven't a clue why they take it, just that they do..." she says again.

Kialla hmms quietly as she sighs. "I do hope unnecessary blood neednt be spilled." she gives... rubbing the bacl of her neck. "I was going to suggest we do that Angus. "

Looking up at Kialla the fox chuckles. "Don't we all Kialla." Angus shakes his head as he moves over to the covered wagon, giving Mirana a nod before he hops in and looks at the map again. "Lets just hope we don't get lost while we are looking for the lost suppliers."

Dio curiously looks on as the feline speeds out wondering who exactly she is, having only seen her just a few times, if that." Again, he looks at the map, listening to his explanation of the pass. "How interestin'. Maybe someone told 'em to go down that route fer a trap? Who knows? We'll 'ave to go down there and find out ourselves!" Now that the wagon had arrives, Dio takes a moment to inspect and soon walks towards it. "Let's get goin' lads and lasses," he says, finally climbing aboard and taking a seat.

Leian rubs her ear lightly in thought, before she heads to the cart with her tail swaying behind her as she climbs in, placing her flute into her sash as she nods a bit " I am certain I'll.. Figure something out to assist."

"Yes, indeed. Let us be off." Sveta adjusts the weight of her shield on her back, then climbs into the cart after Dio and Angus. "The pass in question has been getting safer of late. Odd, why something like this would happen...but we'll find out. I'm not so sure if it's a trap or not, but we'll never get anywhere speculating like this."

Kialla climbs up into the wagon. "how quaint" she gives with a murr as she made sure to check for everything she might have needed for a trip like this to a dangerous places.

Leian pulls her flute out and pulls it to her muzzle, starting to play a soft tune upon it for the ride to the pass, her tail swaying alongside her softly

Once everyone is in the cart the driver gets it moving. The trip to the pass is very uneventful, made all the more enjoyable by Leian's music. Once there though, and the path that the supplier takes pointed out, the driver stops and shakes his head, "Whomever is using that path is crazy, goes right by some unstable parts of the Quarry, I'll wish you all luck, but I'm not going." he says, and finishes with, "I'll be waiting for you here though."

"Nice playin' lass," Dio comments as he tries to enjoy the ride. In his past, most wagon rides where just men looking down at the floor, silently praying to themselves before they're dropped into battle. A nice change of pace it was, he supposes. "Guess we're goin' on foot now." Dio hops out of the wagon and digs behind his back, taking out an average buckler and strapping it to his arm. "Defense, just in case." Putting a hand to his forehead, he scopes out the area, whistling at the winding path. "Guess we better get goin'."

Sveta mutters under her breath as she looks the path over, Leian's music still in her head, but she stands on tiptoe and catches Dio by the shoulder. "Not so fast, my deal Lion of Impetous Impulses. I can see why this trail is supposed to be safer - it's not hard, when you're starting from here. Barely enough for three people abreast, if I'm not wrong...maybe four if you squeezed them. Well! I won't say we're going to have to move in single file, but moving as a rabble isn't going to help anyone. Anyone volunteer to go in front? I will, if no one else wants the spot."

Leian tilts her head softly as she shakes it a moment " Probably best I stay in back, in case something might jump out at me.. I am no fighter... Best someone who can defend themself go ahead first." she nods lightly

As if to echo the drive's words, rubbling is heard down the path! A few rocks bouncing off the sides of the mountain, and tumbling down into the landscape below.

Angus was silent most of the journey towards the trail, but as they stopped he smiles at Leian. "that was a nice tune, thank you." He comments to her as he stands up and hops out of the wagon. Turning he surveys the trail, and walks up next to Sveta to offer her the map. "I'll volunteer for it, if anything comes flying my way I'll just duck and let you catch it with your shield. That sound like a good idea?" He flashes the Goshawk a smile, before he turns to the rest of the group to hear their opinion.

"Ah yes, yer right Bird of Quick Plannin'" Dio looks directly at the falling rocks and looks down at his shield. Perhaps helping to save himself from the smaller ones, but not so much the bigger. "Perhaps the bird lass an' I should be in the middle, so we can form an umbrella o' sorts if we need to. Though if any of ya could fly fer long bits o' time, that may be helpful too."

Kialla is quiet for the trip once everything gets underway. she leans into a sidsrail. She looks thoughtful at the predicamdnt as to shom the vanguarx might be.

Sveta apparently can't quite decide whether Angus is joking or not, so she defaults to being completely serious. "If you want me to catch anything, Lord Solacious, then it's better that you not take unnecessary risks. Would you stay behind with Dio, in that case? He can keep you safe." With the general group order settled, if Angus agrees to it, she unholsters her huge tower shield from her back and makes ready to go, if everyone is prepared.

Leian shakes her head lightly " I know some air magic, but I am afraid it wont help keep me from falling. And I certainly cannot fly, obviously. I shall stay to the back of everyone to best avoid anything."

More rumbling and a few more rocks give way! Most of the trail however looks fairly safe, and after that slight shake it seems that things are stabalising once more.

Angus nods slowly to Sveta, about to say something back before he stops. His ears twitched, picking up a cry for help in the distance. "...Does anyone else hear that?" He asks, looking to the others before he shakes his head. "I'll be back in a minute." Moving over to the side of the Trail he walks off the side...And instead of plummeting to his doom he floats in place, held aloft by air magic. He then tunrs towards the direction that the voice is coming from and flys off to scout ahead and see whats up.

Dio looks over his buckler one last time, tapping the chunk of iron with a satisfying clicking noise. Just a bit larger than his already large head. "I should be able to shield some of ya from the smaller rocks 'n' such, but the Bird o' Big Shields will be where ya wanna run to when things get bad." The lion gestures for the others to gather around as he takes a position behind Sveta, preparing to head up the path. "A voice?" Dio cocks his head as Angus hops off the cliff and bursts up with air magic, but decides to shrug and not question the impulsive fox-kit. "Anyways, let's get goin' and try not to get crushed I guess."

Rocks? Pfft, rocks. Sveta treads carefully, leading the way and keeping an eye on the sides of the trail for more falling rocks. At length, though, she notices Angus heading off on his own. "Come back!" she yells at the troublesome todd. "If you're heading off to investigate what I think you are, then think, at least! Why would a child be out there in the middle of nowhere? Get back here so we can look at it -" she places extra emphasis on the final word - "together."

Leian frowns as she looks to the distance and shakes her head softly " I heard a voice.. And it was no child. It was a grown man calling for help far off in the distance. Possibly on the end of the path. I most definately heard it. My ears are quite keen most of the time." her ears perk atop her head as she listens for more of the cries of help

As the group closes in toward it, indeed it is a grown man, a blue jay, and it seems he with his cart have fallen into a crevice in the mountain side, just off the path. Seein g the group up above he gives a wave, "Hello!! The rumbling knocked me the path!" All around are crates and barrols, probably the supplies Mira had ordered. Then, more rummbling!! The blue jay ducks under the overturned cart and hides himself...

"Ah well," Dio murmurs, shaking his head, tapping Sveta on the shoulder. "Let's get movin' an' meet 'em up there if we can. Hopefully survivin' to 'ave another of yer meals! Ya've givin' me dinner 'n' breakfast, but I haven't 'ad the honor o' lunch!" Eventually, he begins walking up the trail, holding his shield above his head to deflect the smaller rocks. His eyes catch the blue jay, a frown complimenting the situation. "Oh lad, this is gonna be a tough one," he says, looking up to see if anymore rocks were to fall upon them. "How much stuff ya got in there, lad? We're 'ere to help ya out."

Sveta mutters to herself as she does turn out to be wrong, but saves the worst of it for herself. "I don't think we're in any position to help him right now, Dio. He's as safe as he'll be under that cart of his. I suggest -" she holds up her own shield to let a few rocks bounce off it - "we look to shelter ourselves, if he's in no danger of being buried alive or anything. Maybe after this latest tremor's passed..."

Angus looks back up at Sveta with a smile, he was tempted to go down there himself and take the blue jay back up to saftey. But that would make him run the risk of getting trapped down there himself. He moves down, hovering a few feet above the cart as he watches for falling rocks. "Mind telling us what happened to the rest of the caravan." He shouts, trying to find out if they were near by or not.

Shaking his head, the blue jay answers, "I'm the only one, the Solacious order wasn't that big, and only my cart was needed after the ship arrived in the natural sandbars. The rest went on different paths." He explains. The tremors stop for now, but, there is something unusual. There hasn't been natural quakes in this area for decades... The blue jay looks up to Angus, Leian, Dio, Svetra, and Kialla, "Is there some way you could get me and my cart up out of here? There's not too much, a few crates, barrols, it shouldn't be too much for gifted to fix, right?" he says.

Leian nods a bit as she looks up the cliff with a frown, her ears folded back slightly " Best we do it quickly, before more rocks fall our way, to avoid more injuries than there may be. Would not wish for any harm be done to anyone, and hopefully the cliff does not bury us all in our attempt. Are you injured sir?"

Dio looks at the cart and begins rubbing at his chin, wondering just how they'd get the cart out. Manual pulling probably wouldn't be very optimial... "Ah!" He exclaims, snapping his fingers. "If we work together usin' some air 'n' earth, we should be able to get the cart outta there with some ease. I'm not very proficient in earth, but I do know a good bit o' air." The lion turns towards the group. "Are ya up fer it?"

Sveta shrugs and fiddles about for her soul gems, then stops. "Which would you rather have me do then, my dear? I can handle one, but not both. Not with the proficiency I'd like, in any case. No, I'm getting ahead of myself. What ARE you planning, by the by? You still haven't quite explained..."

Angus flys back up to the trail and cuts off his wind magic right as he gets there, dropping about an inch as he lands back on solid ground. "Well, if you need help in Air I can be of assistance. Earth magic not so much, as I have no skill in it." He shrugs, crossing his arms as he looks back up the cliffside to keep an eye on possibly falling rocks.

The ground stays quiet for now, and the cart driver waits while everyone gets their plan together.

Leian nods lightly as she takes her flute in hand " I always find that my air comes more freely when I play my flute. I can try to do some but it is not very strong as yet, still.." she puts the flute to her muzzle and begins playing it, the wind starting to kick up a bit around her

"I was kinda hopin' that someone would spring some ideas off." It would appear Dio didn't actually have a follow up, as probably evident by the nervous hand running through his mane. "Well, the cart doesn't look too badly damaged... Perhaps if we all pool in some air magic, we could lift the cart up while someone, perhaps the bird, could raise the ground a bit under fer a more steady base." The lion then looks towards the group again. "An' once that's done, we set the cart down, load up the scattered cargo, 'n' go home. Seems the kits 'n' I 'ave air magic nice 'n' covered."

Angus looks to Dio and nods. "Alright then, sounds like a plan." turning back to the Cart he starts to focus, going through mental calculations to prepare to help Dio with lifting the cart. "Have to warn you...not the most skilled with air in this soul, but I should be able to help you lift it."

Kialla gives a hum... "well if almost everyone is going to do zome air magic. thdn I will lend my hands to the earth. perhaps thdre is zomething I cam do to calm ths slopes into being more forgivng for a while.

Seeing the others try their hands at raising the cart with air magic, Sveta falls into place and looks to calming the ground underfoot with earth magic. "Even if this place is supposed to be safer than before these past few years, I still don't see how someone can use this trail for anything but a very good reason."

Using calculations alongside the others, he begins using air magic to help lift the cart with quite an intense amount of focus, quite unbecoming of the typically silly lion. "Hope this works out, lads," he murmurs, keeping focus on his task of lifting the cart gently off the floor.

As the math works over the land and the cart, soon everything is braught up to the path! However, the shifting earth magic from Kia alerts something! A family of unusual creatures, things which can only be discribed as a cross between a giant, a badger, and a mole burst from the wall of the cliff to the side of the path! They do not look remotely amused by the group of beings, surging forward to remove the trespassers!

Leian blinks as the beasts charge through the wall of the cliff, quickly shifting her tune to another high tempo one

As their children are killed, the two parents begen to go into a rage! They claw ever harder, the obvious father trying to take position to guard the remaining of his family.

Dio hacked and slashed through the rather strange looking creatures using his new heavy looking saber, occasionally using his shield to defend himself and others from their large attacks. Seeing an opportunity present itself, he throws his buckler arm back and slams the iron right into a creature's skull, knocking it down for the count and preparing himself from the inevitable onslaught and retaliation of their parents.

Leian continued playing her music as best she could throughout the fight, trying to distract the creatures and attempt calming them enough for the others to deal with, while also giving the others more strength and courage with her song!

Angus had drawn his sword as soon as the creatures appeared, swing the large blade and cutting at any of the creatures that came near. He himself did not give any of the creatures a killing blow, but he did take the brunt of some of their attacks. But as the parents fall into a rage he gulps, before he gives them a feral snarl and brings his Long sword up. Trying to look as menacing as possible as he holds his ground.

"Just what are these things, anyway?" Sveta says as she maneuvers her huge shield about to deflect the worst of the incoming blows from those in the back. "I've never seen the likes of them before."

Kialla grits her teeth, drawing her bow and doing her fair share of the dark arts to mostly confuse the creatures i nthe defense of the others. She sighs after the battle with a frown. "That must have been what was causing the instabilites in the path. There isn't something we can do to prevent everything, however. Even though i wish this wasn't neccessarry..." she comments quietly as she keeps her longbow in hand.

The fight goes on and on, the narrow pass not giving too much room for all to keep fighting, but, after their children are dead, bodies rolling down the slopes of the mountain, the fatherly one grabs hold of the nearly dead mother. He pulls on her a moment, then, gets to working his strength on drigging a hole back away, deeper into the mountain and making the whole thing rumble some more! Then... as a section of the wall gives away, the quarry can be seen on the other end of the new path! The cart driver is more then slightly shaken, but seems alright otherwise, "c.. come.. come on.. I, I'll give you all a ride back." he says after ensureing the cargo was loaded and.

Leian looks after the creatures and frowns softly as she sighs, ears lowering atop her head as she lowers her gaze " I.. Failed in calming them... I feel.. Aweful now... Why couldn't I...." she looks down at her flute sadly

"There's no need to feel bad for anything. They tried to kill us unprovoked. They didn't manage. Some things can't be calmed. Some things don't want to be calmed. We have to deal with that." Sveta pats Leian on the shoulder and coughs, then turns to check her shield for dents. "You all go ahead and send the goods to Lady Solacious, and someone ought to make a report of these things in the pass. I'll head back and tell our driver what happened and catch a ride back with him."

Angus takes a few steps towards them as if to persue, before the ground started to shake again and a section of the wall gives away. Blinking he glares at the hole that they just fled into, and puts his sword away as he turns around and starts walking to the cart. "I'll make sure to file a report about this. Maybe we can finally stop people from taking this trail....and now we have to worry about those things being loose in the mines."

"Some beasts don't care about music an' just wanna head straight fer yer throat, lass. No need fer feelin' sorry." Dio taps on his shield and begins heading for the cart. "An' when things can't be calmed, ya gotta calm 'em down with a little force 'ere and there. Now let's get movin'!" With a hearty shout, he hops aboard the cart. "Good luck, lass! I'll help our friend 'ere," he shouts to Sveta.

Leian sighs as she climbs into the wagon, putting her flute away within' her shaft, her tail hanging off the side of the seat next to her

After everyone is in the cart, the driver gets it going back toward the main trails, meeting up with the other cart driver. "Well, seems you lot were successful," says the first, "but what is up with all that shaking? This place isn't usually that unstable!" he says as he gets his own cart moving along side the cart with the provisions. They make their way back to Firmament, giving everyone time to continue exchanging stories and pleasentries.

Leian nods lightly as she looks up at the others and smiles wanly " I'll just have to try harder then, wont I?"

Good to her word, Sveta has joined up with the other cart driver and meets the one with the provisions on the way out, acknowledging the other group with a nod as the carts join up on the road. "Wager you can't wait to sink your teeth in this, o Lion of Great Appetite," she calls out to Dio. "Don't sneak a bit when we're not looking!"

Dio did indeed exchange stories. Loads of stories and talking! Hopefully he didn't talk anyone's ear off or something. Finally arrived, he hops off the cart and begins helping unload the cargo. "Ya know me too well, lass!" The lion chuckles and sets a barrel down on the floor, leaning against it as he takes a moment to relax. "But these kids deserve it more than I do."

Back in the city once more, the cart delivers the supplies to a waiting Eriene and Mira. "Finally, what happened? What took so long? We couldn't save most of the other things, but... oh.. tomorrow, I'll reorder some of the easier to get supplies and we can try again tomorrow." she says a bit disappointed, "Come on, help me unload all this sweeties, and we can start over in the morning." she says rather annoyed, but, things happen...
