Log
It is a warm, sweltering afternoon as the party arrives to their chosen ruin without any big issues so far, and that might be a good thing, considering Flora's family. Accompanying them is an escort of LongTech Industries, much like the escorts other teams have been given, intended to secure the area.
The objective is simple. The first team that manages to procure the specific device Flora requested wins, and gets their prize.
The device itself has been described in detail, and a picture has been shown, of a sleek object made out of creator steel and coming complete with several runes on top. On the bottom, a creator-steel pin of sorts, on a flexible creator-steel cord... How curious. What could she want with this?
Of course, no sooner has the team arrived, and they already encounter a problem... The door that leads into the compound appears to be locked quite securely. And of course, it's made out of creator steel.
Kalt blinks as she comes up to a stop, the Vixen placing her hands in her pocket as she sighs and looks from the door, to the group. "Uhm... We're havin' just a lil'bit of an issue an' such... I ain't supposin any of you went an' brought somethin' to go undoin' locks an' did ya?" The Vixen looking over her shoulder to Fenris, the tiny Lyger having been given spot to rest in her backpack for the trip. "Any thoughts?"
Samira is already a little out of breath from the long walk, taking a long swig from her waterskin as she halts near the rear of the group. At least she remembered to bring practical clothes, a new pair of trousers and a shirt made of light, thin fabric along with a small bag containing food, water and the few pieces of equipment she'll need and... an abacus? That shouldn't have been left there...
Hurredly stuffing it back inside her bag she strolls up to the steel doorway and starts peering around for any mechanism to open it. "I... don't suppose they left the key under a rock or something, did they?" Curious as she is, she goes to check in case they did.
Allista grins as she saunters up towards the door, raising a Golem-Grasper clad hand to waggle her fingers at the group. "Oh, you bet. I'm good at doors!" Her guardian golem follows close by silently, and as she reaches the door the sharp-dressed Coyote balls up her fist... then leans forward, inspecting the door for a locking mechanism or control panel, carefully leaning on the door and using her hand to support her weight.
Fenris leans against Kalt's shoulders as he looks around from her open pack. "I appreciate the ride, Kalt," he says, "Quicksilver there is not quite ready for riding." He waves a hand at the prowling feline golem that follows after them. "Still too hot without the saddle installed," he says. The tiny liger frowns a bit at their route. This was not even REMOTELY the direction that Flora had said they would be traveling in! The feline rolls his violet eyes and shakes his head. She must have had a reason for the misinformation.
Spotting the impressive door ahead, his ears perk up. "If it is Creator made, I am your cat!" he nimbly hops from Kalt's pack and saunters up to the door next to Samira. It was so strange to be looking UP at all of these beings. The tiny liger examines the door for a keypad or locking mechanism common to the other Creator ruins and vehicles that he has had the opportunity to examine.
Lucasiel rattles onto the scene, axe propped up onto her shoulder. Normally, such plate would be unberable on such a warm day! Fortunately, she was cheating with a bit of ice magic to keep herself cool. "This should be an interesting day!" She calls to no one in particular, ever the jolly cat.
Vendela tilts her wide-brimmed hat down to shield her eyes from the afternoon sun. The stoat doesn't seem to show any adverse effects to wearing her corsair coat in the heat although the mud on her buckled boots recieve a small frown before she turns her attention to the large door infront of them. "Well well! Isn't this curious! The creators are always so secretive, arn't they? There has to be a way inside somehow. Perhaps a switch somewhere.." she says cheerily as she steps closer to give the structure infront of them a good look over, her bejewled hands running over the seam of the door as she joins the tiny liger by the door. Weaving in a touch of air mathemagics to perhaps get a better feel for air currents that one might be able to sense.
Rokarion follows the group. The plant being regrets wearing his cloak today with all the heat. He glances around the group noting his unknown temprorary allies, before laying sight on the large metal door in front of them. Rokarion stands there, looking at the groups progress, having nothing to add right now.
The doors are quite hermetically sealed, and there doesn't appear to be any other place into the building just yet, leaving the team stranded where they are for the time being. Well, at least things appear to be safe, so far.
The beings from LongTech Industries are setting up camp, actually making sure to fortify the area and laying out several weapons just in case the group is attacked, making sure they can do their job safely.
Vendela takes a step back from the door, pausing to take an invigorating swig of whatever swill she might have in the small hip-flask at her belt. "Well, isn't this a puzzle! I can't find a thing. Can't even detect any air flowing in our out of the door. Sealed tighter then a crab's buttocks if ye ask me. You got any better luck there, uhm.. tiger man?" she asks before suddenly snapping her fingers. "Fenris! I think someone called you that, atleast.. I'm Vendela, by the by. Maybe there's a back door?" she says. Perhaps the grog was all she needed to get her sluggish synapses flowing.
"Nice to meet you, Vendela," the tiny liger nods as he looks over the door. "Right up there," Fenris says, pointing at a set of runes embossed in the doorway. "Anybody care to help a guy out?" The runes are far out of the tiny liger's reach, though he is sure he could use them to open the door with no trouble. Stupid Sylvia and her hurt feelings! His accident with the troublesome machine spirit had not dimmed his curiosity about the Creators and their toys, however, and he was determined to learn all that he could. And this door was not about to stand in his way.
Allista taps a few times at the door as she looks for runes or hidden panels, then grins at Fenris as he points. She offers the tiny liger her gauntleted arm, if he wants to climb onto it, then rises up to her feet. "There we go. Open sesame." She glances around. "Nice to meet you folks, by the way. I'm Allista."
Kalt nods to Fenris as the vixen's tail sways gently behind her. "Right then, figurin' you lot know where to go pokin' better than I do now an' such... Been studyin' what I can, but I ain't near good 'nuff to not be causin' issues." Smiling thne to Allista. "M'names Kalt."
Samira hmmphs at the lack of success her method seems to be having, slinking back to the group of beings watching Fenris and co struggle with the door to fall onto her rump and watch. A glance left, a glance right, Samira pulls a small bag of sweet-smelling pastries from her bag and glances up at Rokarion. "Do you want one?" she churrs, holding out one of the delectable little snacks. Whether or not he takes one she eagerly wolfs her own down in no time, her gaze lingering on the doorway. Hopefully it won't take too long to open, she's already itching to start exploring the place!
Lucasiel settles the head of her axe on the ground, propping the haft against her shoulder before thumping a fist on her breastplate and dipping into a shallow bow. "I am Lucasiel! I will be joining you today for fun! And to provide help. But I'm not so good with the machines, so I will leave that to you, aye." She shoulders her axe again and falls in beside Kalt and Allista, waiting to see the fate of the door!
Rokarion sighs, moving his cloak to rest rest beyond his shoulder, showing his dark gray linen tunic and trousers. Rokarion then moves a little closer to the door, glancing the group's surrondings before focusing again on the door, and says in a serene and polite tone, "I would suggest caution with those runes, they might activate a trap or have some other nefarious effect." Rokarion then leans on their staff, waiting for Fenris to finish his tampering.
Rokarion looks at the wolfess addressing him. Moving closer towards her, he gives her a polite nod and answers in the same tone as before, "Thank you for your generousity Madam. My name is Rokarion may I ask you yours?" With that Rokarion takes the piece of pastry from her hand, before asking, "And what exactly is this piece of pastry?"
A soon as Fenris begins pressing the runes, they spring to life and glow a bright, orange color. It only takes a few motions to slide the locks into place properly, before a terrible screeching-noise assaults everyone.
The door slides down, revealing a smooth, creator-steel walkway down into the depths of whatever compound this may be.
A sudden gust of air blows a layer of dust out of the tunnels, although the ground is still covered in a fine, light-gray layer, with the occasional wire or oddly intact piece of glass on the floor.
Finally, the moment the first being sets a foot inside, the lights turn on on their own around them, slowly illuminating the path in front of them... Not counting the ocassional malfunctioning light giving off sparks, of course.
Kalt claps as she door opens, moving forward as she offers Fenris a spot in the backpack once more, before stepping into the hallway. The Vixen freezing as the lights suddenly turn on, before sighing and taking a few careful steps forward. "Well, that's a good start an' such." The Vixen's tail going still as possible while she tries to not step on anything in the hallway.
Samira lets out a bit of a squeak as the door starts to move, scrambling to catch the half-pastry that fell out of her hand. "It's just a snack I got at the market! Oh, and my name is Samira. Nice to meet you!" And with that, she's off! Staying near the middle of the group, she steps slowly and hesitantly, worried that being too loud might set something or other off. She keeps her hands in front of her just in case, hoping that her limited knowledge in the field of magic will be enough. "Spooky... are all of the Creator ruins like this?" she inquires to no one in particular.
Allista stands back as the door opens, offering miss Kalt her assistant back. "Nicely done, sir, nicely done." She stands there and waits for the doors to finish moving, then becons to her golem and moves in after Kalt, letting the fox take the lead. "Oh wow. I haven't been in a fresh ruins like this..." She peers around, intent on taking it all in.
Lucasiel perks up at the door slides open. "Oh! Wonderful! Let's get a move-on, then, shall we?" The panther adjusts the weight of her axe and moves to shuffles into the now-opened compound, keeping her kite shield at the ready incase any of those pesky creator golems pop out. Not that she was concerned, they were usually easy to deal with. "It is quite interesting, isn't it?"
Fenris smiles down the corridor and hops lightly from atop Allista's golem grasper. "Thank you, Miss," he says before turning to rejoin Kalt, his designated steed for the day. The tiny liger leaps and swings acrobatically up the straps and buckles of the vixen's leather armor until he finds a comfortable spot at her shoulder. "Ready!" he calls out, "Let's see what we have found!"
The little Liger gives a sympathetic look toward Samira. "Most of them, Samira," he says, "They've been abandoned a very long time."
Vendela happily bounds after the people entering the passageway, her small, agile frame squirreling it's way to just behind Lucasiel. The heavily armed panther seemed like a brave and meaty thing to have infront of her, after all. Tilting her hat backwards with a finger, she peers up at the lights. "Ain't this something. Could use something like this on my ship. Well, if I had one, that is.." she says to no-one in particular. The stoat leans to the side, trying to peek at what's infront of them, paying some attention to the floor in particular. "Mind yer steps now. Don't want to step in anything.. creatory."
Rokarion nods towards the skunk, "Nice to meet you Miss Samira." He then walks after her. If there was any nervousness on his part he did not show it, his usual serene, neutral expression dominating his face. Rokarion stays in the middle of the group looking all around the creator ruin, a mixture of curiosity and amazement keeping his eyes focused on the walls and the wires around him. "I hope we do not get caught in any of the traps that the Creators might have so kindly left for us."
The ruins are soon lit all around the octet of beings, and a large hallway of sorts reveals itself, offering a path to the left, and one to the right. Surrounding them are various Servitors in different sizes, scuttling around, sending sparks at the walls, and so far, not noticing the beings. Of course, larger, bipedal automatons also stomp around, periodically scanning the area and seeming far, far less inclined to stay friendly.
Even so, the area is still relatively well-conserved, with only minor damage to the creator steel floors, walls and ceiling, although one or two ceiling-plates have indeed buckled in the corner, leaving a large pile of dirt stacked up neatly where the plate detached itself.
Kalt frowns as she notices the divergence of paths before them, tapping her foot as she looks around for anything usefull before looking at Fenris. "Any clue 'bout which way we should be wanderin'?" She asks him, before glancing back at the large group. "I uh... Ain't figurin' folks wanna split up an' all."
Samira eeps and ducks down behind Rokarion (as he was the closest at the time) as soon as she spots movement which, for the most part, doesn't seem to be doing much. Her furred muzzle peeks out around the edge of the group a few times, the skunkette getting closer to the very rear of the group. "I'll be right here if anyone needs me..." she whispers.
Eyeing the bipedal automatons, Allista gives her head a quick shake. "No, no," she replies to Kalt. "I am perfectly happy to stay with the group. Very much *perfectly* happy for it." She rests her hands on her hips for a moment, then nods down the left-hand hallway. "If we're just picking one, I'd say we go that way. And I wouldn't be too worried, miss Samira. They shouldn't react unless we do something to provoke them." She pauses. "Shouldn't. Yea?"
Lucasiel glances at each passage and all the little servitors before nodding. "Aye. Stick together. I'd wager that more than just myself and miss Kalt have trouble with understanding these gidgets. And if we split up, we are weaker as a whole. Might take a little longer to explore it all, but better than someone going and ending up dead for it, yeah?"
Vendela leans over to study one of the automatons. "Like lil' shiprats, ain't they?" she says. Crouching down she seems content with studying the little critters until someone makes a choice. "Say, you seem to know an awful lot about these things, Mr. Fenris. Do the crab things offer any suggestions on where to go?" she asks, giving one of them a cautious little prod with her finger.
Fenris looks uneasily at the big, bipedal automatons. "I don't know if I will be able to talk those down," he says, "Not before they get of a few shots at least." He shrugs his maned shoulders. "Most Creator vessels and ruins I have seen have circling corridors," he says, "I don't think it matters which way we go." He nods to the left. "I tend to favor left hand turns myself," he says.
The liger considers Vendela's question, then shrugs. "No," he says, "They are all over ruins like this," he says, "More like a maintenance crew than ship rats, though. And they can be provoked, so stop poking at them!"
Vendela snatches back her hand before it reaches the shell of the little crab. "Aww.." she sighs.
Rokarion looks around, staring intently at the mechanical creations, before his attention is caught by the eep and the movement behind him. Rokarion looks at Samira and says, voice still the same, "I hope you are fine Miss Samira we are not yet in any danger. So no need to gret over the servants of the Creators just yet." Rokarion then glances the two branching paths litesning intently to each word spoken as if to memorize them, before chiming in, "I would prefer if we stick to the right path, unless there are hints on what might each path lead to."
The servitor Vendela picked does not seem too amused by the prod, if there's such a thing as an amused servitor in the first place. A strange, continuous spark flies for just a moment towards the stoat...
Vendela squeaks as she throws herself backwards. She frowns at the automaton as she sucks at her fingers. Her fur looks decidedly more.. fuzzy then before. "Ouch! Those things are mean!" she says sullenly. Tempted to give the thing a kick she instead decides that perhaps discretion is the better part of valor in this case. "Right! Left it is!" she says.
The automaton in question quickly goes back to work, sending sparks at the walls and running around, as if maintaining the area... Even so, the larger, bipedal automaton seems to be keeping an eye on the octet now, or rather, a large, white searchlight illuminating each of them.
"INTRUDERS. IDENTIFY," it sounds in a double voice, not unlike whenever a Creator speaks into their translators, while the light scans over the group.
Well, here goes nothing. Fenris calls from his perch on Kalt's shoulder in the best Creator Speak he can manage. He really should spend more time with that Sylvia machine! "We are guests!" he says, trying to sound confident, "Inhabitants of," he does his best to say the creator designation for Promise, "Here to learn about this facility! Will you direct us?" That was weak, but worth a try. He doubted the chants he knew would work on this thing.
Allista freezes, going very still for a moment as the spotlight hits her. Her hackles raise, but with an effort of will she smooths it over with a cool demeanor, thinking. Then the coyote grins, snapping her fingers - or well, producing a similar gesture with her graspers, metal fingers rasping together before the dull thunk of a finger hitting her palm. "Allista Anderson," she replies calmly, raising a finger as she starts to give her identification. Then pauses, ears folding. "Er. That."
Kalt jumps at the appearance of the Automation, pulling on two metal banded gloves over her hands as she looks back at Fenris cautiously, before looking to the Automation. The Vixen's tail flicking slowly in anticipation as she remains silent, letting him do the talking so hopefully she'd not have to do the fighting!
Samira's magic may not be too helpful in circumstances like this, but at the very least she can use her water magic to help after the fact. Staying a good few metres behind the combatants of the party she scans around in case anything should happen to try sneaking up on them. The loud voice of the automaton makes her neck-fur stand a little on end, the tension increasing as Kalt dons her weapons. Trying her best to calm her nerves, she starts to think through the maths needed to cast water blessing. After all, every little helps!
Lucasiel folds her arms and lofts a brow under her helmet. She's content to let Allist and Fenris do the talking, for now! She starts to open her mouth to say something to the others but reconsiders and, instead, adjusts her grip on the axe, preparing, and partially expecting, the machine to attack.
"Ooh! It TALKS!" the stoat exclaims in astonishment after removing her fingers from her mouth. Vendela scurries forwards to get a better look at the creature, a hand resting on her trusty pistol incase it didn't like the guests talking back. She stops right behind Fenris and Kalt. She leans over towards Fenris and whispers "So, if we'd have to say, shoot and / or stab our way out of here, where should I aim at?"
Rokarion looks at the agitated golem in front of them. However, his ears' attention is grabbed by Fenris using the Creator's speech, fascinated by it. After the small lifer finish, Rokarion moves closer to the group keeping his eyes on the automaton, waiting to see its reaction and preparing for the worst.
A loud buzz, and the light turns red. "Weapons registered. Hostility-level, fifteen percent. Threat-level, two percent. Disarm now, and you will be spared," the voice drones, before the light focuses on Fenris, whom it has decided is the leader of the group.
"REPEAT. IDENTIFY. Guests of what SCHOLAR?"
Still, the large device doesn't seem to be opening fire just yet, even if it does pull up an arm with an oddly glowing circular light. "DISARM" it commands clearly, watching the beings as pulses of light move around the ring.
Fenris holds his hands in the air, looking as unintimidating as a kitten sized liger could. "We are guests of Mister Alan," he says, wagering that the Creator Saint of kindness was the best guess for something like this. He had given them Promise, after all. "We will gladly report to the chief of security," he says as calmly as he can. The tiny liger waves to the others to sheathe their weapons. For now. Always better to avoid the fight. "I can provide access codes if neccessary," he says, hoping that it is not a bluff.
Kalt frowns and grits her teeth, pulling her gloves off and tucking them back into her belt before holding up her hands. "Fine fine, I ain't armed, I ain't armed. No need to be goin' off an' shootin' stuff now fella." The Vixen's tail flicking as she tries to relax for the machine.
Samira lowers her hands and tries to look inconspicuous, deciding that it's best to keep quiet for the moment. Her tail still flicks to and fro slowly and she takes a few tentative steps back, curious as to whether she can get into the corridoor behind her should anyone get attacked. Fenris seems to be dealing with things well though, so perhaps they'll be fine. She can always hope!
Allista takes a half step back, slightly behind her own defense golem, just in case the liger can't talk his way out of this. She puts her hands on her hips and watches, tail wagging - it wasn't often she got to watch old technology in action, after all.
Lucasiel rumbles softly under her helmet and tilts her axe back a little, securing it on the hook on the back of her armour, ready to be pulled free again in a flash if she needed it. "Right. Let's avoid a scuffle if we can, hmm?"
Vendela takes her hand off the stock of her gun and holds them up in the air. "Y-yeah, what he said! I think.." she squeaks, tilting her head at Fenris "We're just here to have a look around! A friendly visit! We even brought pastries! Right?" the stoat says, glancing back at the skunk.
Rokarion looks at the automaton, then back at Fenris, focusing more on the spoken language than the situation at hand. He then sets his staff on the ground and leans on it, making sure it looks as unthreatening as a piece of crafted wood can. He takes a moment to glance at the other servitors around the area, seeing their reaction to the group, before staring back at the automaton, waiting for its reaction, his secret amazement at the Creator's work is not deterred by the danger at hand.
The servitors are not at all responding to the group, simply continuing their work, while the larger automaton keeps his light on the group. "Hostility-level ten percent. Five percent. Dropping. Threat level, zero percent."
"INSERT CODES," the automaton finally booms towards Fenris, watching him intently, the light turning yellow from its previous red color, even as it backs away a bit and allows the beings a better entrance into the atrium, before shining its light at the center of the atrium, where an octagonal shape is carved out into the creator steel floor.
Fenris takes a deep breath and chants carefully. "Initiate security code Delta Five Sigma Theta. Designation Operation Furtopia. Designate current as user," he chants. The liger is aware that the chant is a code, but it is easier to remember it as a chant than simply speaking it. He hopes it works. It works on sacred doctors. It could work here. Right?
As everyone moves to the center of the atrium, and Fenris chants his code, the large bipedal device moves over as well, silently standing in the center, before stamping down.
Divine shields seem to raise all around the octagon, before suddenly, it descends into the floor, with a giant wall showing that the compound is, in fact, huge.
Walkways, beams, and various others of these moving platforms... Truly, this technology is marvelous.
After a short and smooth ride downwards, one of the wall evaporates, and another room not unlike the one they were in before, if smaller, opens up to them... Only one path to follow here. "COMMANDANT'S room. TOOLS, MAPS and WATCHTOWER. Follow this GOLEM."
Kalt blinks as they descend, the Vixen just blinking gently as she watches. "I uh... Well then. Guess'n we're followin' the tin man ain't we?" The Vixen looking over her shoulder Fenris, before patting him on the head. "Good job too."
Samira raises an eyebrow or two at Fenris' chant, but does a little jump for joy when it seems to work! An astonished gaze is cast around the many sights as they descent, the girl's first visit to a creator ruin proving to be quite an astounding one. Her tail bobs around as she makes her way to the edge of the platform to better see what's going on. "Are... are they all that big?"
Ears perked, Allista eagerly follows close behind the golem. Maps? Watchtower? She needed to make sure she got a good look! "What is this 'robot's designation?" she asks, carefully sounding out the unfamiliar word. "And what is the purpose of this station?"
Lucasiel chuckles softly and shrugs. "Well. At least it didn't try to harm us!" She turns on her paws and follows the group along, plate clinking together lightly. "What an interesting place this is. I've seen many places in my travels, but creator ruins are always among the most fascinating."
Fenris grins at Kalt as she pats his fluffy mane, then looks around in wonder at the facility. "Wow!' he breathes, "I've never been in a Creator ruin this big." The tiny liger hops lightly down from Kalt's shoulder and follows the Servitor Golem. This was, in some ways, much more exciting than toying with the creator tool that Sally had acquired. He is all smiles as he soaks it all in. The little liger does shoot a look at Allista, knowing that asking too many questions could be dangerous, but not willing to make a scene about it.
Vendela exitedly hops from foot to foot. "Ooh! Oooooh! Maps? MAPS! I want to go to there!" she squeaks as she bounces forwards, following in the automaton's footsteps. "Accurate maps are always good to have! Can I see them?" she asks, the original purpouse of the visit obviously forgotten in the face of all the wonderous things infront of her.
Rokarion eyes dart back and forth, up and down trying to take in all the astonishing sights of the Creator's ruins. His eyes never rest as the elevator takes them down. Rokarion looks at one of the divine shields, stepping closer to it to examine it even more closely, but does not touch it knowing it won't be the wisest of actions. Rokarion then follows the group as they walk behind the servitor, eyes still wandering about the room they are in.
"This GOLEM is Number One-hundred-sixty-five. This AREA is meant to WATCH the UNDERGROUND of PROMISE. It is a WATCHTOWER, meant to MAP the area's <some unknown word>. It looks for HEAT, <unknown word>, <unknown word> and <other unknown words>"
"Guests should know about this," it notes, the green light just momentarily blinking red, before turning back to green again.
Soon enough, the octet is standing in a large, oblong room, filled with complicated devices, and a large, three-dimensional image in the center, showing, well... Something. It apears to be a layered image of something. What, exactly, is not clear.
Scattered around the room are various tools, ranging from simple hammers and screwdrivers to various bits of creator technology, with some looking like the central tube of a scorcher, and even a sacred doctor or two, and finally, in a corner, there is one device like the one Flora described, while in another corner, another one lies... The second one, however, appears to have peeled open like a banana. As if it exploded rather violently.
Kalt whistles lowly as she looks around, glancing to fenris before motioning to the golem, perhaps hoping he can keep it busy while they get what they need. The Vixen herself moving to hopefully stand so it's vision at anyone 'inspecting' the tool they were after wouldn
Kalt whistles lowly as she looks around, glancing to fenris before motioning to the golem, perhaps hoping he can keep it busy while they get what they need. The Vixen herself moving to hopefully stand so it's vision at anyone 'inspecting' the tool they were after wouldn't be seen.
Samira spends a few moments glancing between Kalt and Fenris before she realises quite what's going on, but once she does she's quick to follow after Kalt. Her fluffy tail obscures much and her bag is quickly held open before her, plenty of space left inside to conceal the device for it's return trip to LongTech mansion. "We should hurry..."
"Thank you, number one hundred sixty five," Allista replies. "Mister Fenris is the scholar, I am just part of his escort." She gives the golem a happy smile, then slowly circles the map, nodding appreciatively. She circles the map again, studying it. "The underground of Promise..." she muses. "Like I can see right through it." As she circles, she also ponders, wondering what souveniers she might be able to get away with rescuing.
Lucasiel glances around the room and gives a low whistle. "Would you look at all that stuff..." She's not so great with all the fancy tools, but the hobbiest blacksmith in her does shuffle about to try to snatch up one of those fancy creator hammers for herself. Maybe it would come in handy later!
Fenris nods to Kalt, intuiting the need as soon as he spots the item they were here to find. The liger still has no idea what it is meant to be for. "Unit 165," he says, switching back into the babble of creator speech, "Are we permitted to borrow tools from this facility as guests?" He thinks a second and asks another question. "How long has it been since you had guests here?" he asks, "And where are your operators?" He has learned from recent experiences that places like this are usually meant to house Creators along with their servitors. Obviously, no Creator nor Being had been here in a very long time. "I should very much like to see your history logs," he says, "If it is possible." And he would. Maybe there would even be some of those magical images depicting the Creator Saints! That would be remarkable! He is overflowing with questions, but knows that he must be careful in asking them. That's what got him into his current LITTLE situation.
Vendela walks towards the big map just hanging there, almost like she's hypnotized by it. By the look on her face, it's likely she isn't paying attention to anything else in the room. "It's so beautiful.." she mumbles as she stretches a hand towards it. "This could really come in handy! Must be a way to take it with us. Think of what we could discover!" she says exitedly whilst rubbing her hands together, trying to make sense of how it works. "Map! Uhm.. fold!" she commands, guessing wildly as she tries to interface with the image.
Rokarion stands at the entrance of the door admiring the pieces of Creator tech found it. As the group starts moving in he moves near Allista, looking at the 3d map with her, before glancing the room and all it's wonderful toys. Giving the map a minute of inspection, Rokarion then moves the individuals near the group, still enjoying hearing the Creator's tongue being spoken. He then sets his cloak over his shoulders to obscure most of his figure before taking a few backward steps towards the device. He then coughs, to attract the groups attention, before protruding his hands from under the cloak, <Make sure he is not looking in this direction I will attempt to grab the device if he refuses to offer us it.> Rokarion then slips his hands again under his cloak glancing what other items he could grasp while he is at it, but otherwise making minimal movement to avoid the golem's notice.
As Vendela extends her hand towards the map, the map... Moves. Slices of it move down, or to the side, allowing her to see the tunnelcomplex in all its glory, although the map makes no attempts to fold up in any way. It does appear to rotate slightly when she makes certain gestures, though.
Fenris gets a yellow blinking light for a moment. "TOOLS may be taken for REPAIRS. We have not seen any SCHOLARS in this place for four-hundred and twenty-two years."
"The ARCHIVES are not accessible with your current PERMISSIONS."
Kalt remains silent as she keeps herself planted in the golem's view of the tool in question, and those gathering it! Watching the Liger and machine interact as she looks between the two and tries to draw no attention off fenris.
Samira, seeing that Kalt isn't moving the tool just yet, puts down the bag and glances to and fro. While she may have a siren song that moves attention away from herself, she somewhat doubts that machines work in the same way, especially given the communication problems they've had so far! She'd take the thermometer herself were it not for the golem's suggestion that tools can't be taken permanently along with the risks that angering said golem pose. Calling out to the golem, she churrs, "What if we need to repair something outside?"
Allista quietly snorts. She had all kinds of things she needed to repair... and so, while everyone else had it distracted (and her own golem was in the way) she begins nonchalantly and discretely pocketing as many of the devices as she can get away with.
Lucasiel tucks her chosen hammer away under her battle axe and cloak, safely out of sight. She takes another one and settles it in her bag before scooting back towards the group, her free hand on her hip while the other still clutches her shield. "What an interesting map! Reminds me kind of... Like one of those puzzle cubes! With all the moving bits."
Archives. Archives Archives Archives. Fenris loved that word. But would have to simply remain frustrated, since it was obvious he would not be seeing them today. "Thank you 165," he says. The tiny feline walks over to retrieve the ruined device. "This device is obviously broken," he says, "May I take it and an unbroken one to conduct repairs?" He is not especially interested in any of the tools here, though that map is a wondrous thing!
Vendela keeps herself busy with the map, marveling at how easy it is to both use and read. "This bit of machinery right here.. this is amazing. Imagine what we could do with it! How does it even work.." she mutters to herself as she turns the image too and fro. While she's quite amazed at how the map is made, she does take a few moments to figure out what it's actually a map of and if she can glean any insight from it. Perhaps somewhere to explore later on.
Rokarion glances around, seems that everyone is too interested in the devices around him to notice, or maybe no one spoke sign language. Taking advantage of the distraction caused by the group all moving around and 'inspecting' stuff, Rokarion turns around and quickly pockets the unbroken disk, hand movement hidden by his rather large cloak. Pocketing the device safely in one of his hidden pouches, Rokarion then moves a hand to grab a trinket or two from the area near the device, before moving back towards the group, and asking the golem, "422 years?

Does that mean the scholars where on Promise with our early ancestors?"
A red light shone directly at Rokarion. "The SCHOLAR may take the DEVICE," it drones, before looking over the rest of the group with that same red light, only to have it turn yellow again, presuming no-one is visibly swiping anything at the wrong moment.
Rokarion takes a step backwards from the golem, his usual serene expression showing a hint of fear in it. Rokarion then heads towards Fenris, and hands him the device. He then leans in and whispers, before pulling back, and looking at the other tools around the room.
The light on the golem turns green again the moment the object changes hands, and the machine allows the beings to continue examine the room again.
Kalt sighs slightly in relief, looking amongst the group before offering a gentle shrug. "Well, M'figurin' that's that ain't it? Oi Fenris, also figurin' me an' you should be lettin' Sally know 'bout this place so they can get Parson an' his fella's down here to fix or do whatever they'd need to do eh?" The Vixen's tail swaying gently behind her as she offers to pick Fenris up once more!
Samira puts her bag back by her side and pouts slightly, sad that she couldn't have helped more. Alas, Rokarion swiped it before she and Kalt could do anything. Seeing as there aren't any shiny gems or articles of jewelry to catch Samira's attention, she returns to Fenris' side to wait for their eventual departure, a light frown passing her features should she spot anyone else swiping items from the walls. However little they're going to get used, they still belong here after all. "Once we're out of here, do you want to take that to Flora, or should I?" she churrs to Fenris.
"Right. She did get clearance from the Church? Or do they need to check it out first before we let Lady Longtail have a look?" Allista asks. The coyote moves back over towards the elevator, smiling, and gets one last look around the room. "That's all, ?
Victory! Or, at least as far as Lucasiel is concerned. They found the place! They found things in the place! And nobody was seriously injured. "Well, not bad, all in all. A bit dull, but I suppose that's just fine in my books." She turns to start making her way towards the exit, curious as to what lies down the other path. But that was an adventure for another day.
Fenris accepts the device from Rokarion and listens to what he has to say before turning back to the golem. "Thank you again, 165," he says, picking up a trio of little mini-scorchers, "I may require these as well. I hope that is no trouble?" The little liger saunters over to scale Mount Kalt once more.
Once he and his cargo are safely stowed in the vixen's pack he switches back to normal language. "You are welcome to give it to Flora, Samira," Fenris says from his perch, "And we will deal with that hurdle when we come to it, Kalt." He pats his friend and erstwhile steed on the shoulder. "And Samira," he says, "I would also like you to take these other things to Flora, with my regards." The liger switches back to Creator Speech. "That is all for now, 165," he says, "Would you escort us out, please?"
Vendela stays where she is, toying with the map, turning it this way and for as long as she can until finally someone drags her out by the collar. Sulking, the stoat trudges along with the group. She has to find out some way to make maps like this. Maybe some water magic to make a fine mist and something to shine light on it to.. no, that's a stupid idea. What ever was she thinking?! Clearly she'd need a light source and several very tiny persons adept at shadow puppetry! She mulls her ideas over in her head as she follows the adventurers outside.
Rokarion moves towards the golem, and gives in a small apologetic headbow, "My apologies Unit 165, I was merely trying to handle the scholar the device to the scholar." Rokarion then moves towards the group, a bit dissapointed that he didn't get a chance to finish inspecting the room. Satisfied that he got at least two trinkets out of the whole situation, ignoring the fact that what he did was stealing he will just give them to the Church yes nothing else. Rokarion then looks again at the golem, waiting for it to escort them.
The bot regards Rokarion in a yellow glow, before gesturing towards the elevator, waiting for everyone to step inside, before making another stomp in the center and sending it flying upwards again, smoothly. Soon enough, everyone is at the surface again, and the beings can exit the ruins... Judging by the size of things, though, there is far, far more to explore, though.
