It is... Early in the morning, and there is quite a ruckus in the hallway, as servants insist that, no, Lord Solacious isn't actually available, and that while, yes, he's in the study, and yes, Lady Longtail technically outranks him in the Noble pecking-order, it still isn't proper that she just try and barge into his study. And of course, that if she would just wait in the foyer, one of them can go and check if he's available, instead if her doing it herself... Of course, it seems to not help one bit, as Flora, and her Golem, steadily march on...

Angus was of course snoring a little, his head down on his arms on the desk. The office door is of course unlocked, but the servants still continue protesting letting her in. An older looking Skunk in the uniform actually standing between her and the door as he speaks. "I'm sorry Lady Longtail, but you can't just go barging into rooms like this!"

"Flora needs to speak with Friend Angus. It is important, yes. Though if mister skunk prefers, Flora could take it, and this, up with High Lady Solacious instead? Flora knows where to go, yes. Mister skunk just has to say the word, yes," she offers, smiling warmly... She's probably not even aware she's essentially threatening the poor skunk with those words.

The skunk freezes at those words, giving her a bit of a glare before he sighs. "At least let me see if he's awake miss." He asks, not waiting for her to answer as he turns around and knocks on the door while opening it up a bit. Angus snorts, sitting up quickly with a drawn blade at the noise before he realizes who it is. "Oh, Sebastian. Is everything okay?" He asks, before the skunk explains the situation. "Ah, let her in then." The fox answers, fixing a few arrent papers left out on his desk before waiting for her to enter.

A smile, a nod, a rumble as Flora gestures her golem along, and essentially barges past the skunk. "See? Flora knew Friend Angus was available, yes," the she-cat offers with a smile, as Bastet pushes the door closed with her big, metal tail. "Flora had something to discuss, yes, and Flora should probably discuss that before someone else comes and discuss it first, yes. Friend Angus can probably expect a house-visit at some point in the future, yes, Flora figures Friend Angus'd like to be filled in beforehand.

Sebastian scowls as the door is slammed in his face, muttering something foul about the Longtails to no one in particular before he goes back to his duties. Angus yawns as he shoves the dagger back into its scabbard on the underside of the desk, folding his hands over as his ears perk, then cock a little as he raises a brow. "Discussions about what?" He asks, a little curious and rather confused as if she barged into here it is either rather important, either to just her or everyone.

"These," Flora offers, as she pulls out a small, simple-looking spyglass. Contrary to a regular spyglass, however, the magnification is significantly better. "Maybe better to test it outside, yes. It works best for the distance between Longtail Manor and the city wall, though Flora is sure there's something friend Angus could look at from the Solacious Manor, yes," she offers with a smile on her lip. "Flora had a talk with the spyguard, yes. During the Fair, there'll be a spyglass-contest. Flora figured the scouting-regiment might be interested in joining, yes. So Flora figured the spyguard might decide to approach friend Angus about it, later. Best if Flora explains first."

Angus eyes the device, picking it up to study. If it can fold in on itself, he'll fold it in. He clicks his tongue a bit in thought as he tests the weight, rolling it in his hand a bit to see how it fits before holding it up between his fingers with the front facing the floor to see if gravity will unfold it. "It's an intresting to say the least, how did you manage to make the lenses more powerful?"

"They aren't, no. But how Flora did it is a closely-guarded LongTech secret, for now. Flora would have to ask Friend Angus to sign a non-disclosure contract first. Protocol, yes. This is just a prototype, yes. The real ones could be made just the way the Scouts would find the most useful. Long range, short range... Flora also has some ideas for an adjustable spyglass, but that one wouldn't be foldable, no." the she-cat offers with a smile, as Angus runs the tool through its paces. It's certainly a prototype, given that it's a little rough around the edges. No paintjob, not the most comfortable of grips, and so on, but it certainly does the job.

Angus nods once more as he puts it on his desk, raising a brow once more. "So the question then becomes why come to me? I was a scout once yes, but I'm an officer now." He answers, withholding the fact he may have one spyguard or two under his employment as he looks her over.

"Friend Angus is the closest person Flora'd know to a member of the scouting regiments, yes. And Flora figures Angus might have connections. Besides, having a well-known Officer and a Solacious on board for hosting the challenge, yes? Flora wouldn't know if the Spyguard decide to approach friend Angus or not, but Flora figured friend Angus might want to be involved in such a thing, yes."

"And if friend Angus has any contacts in the navy... Flora would like to speak with them at some point too, yes. Flora figures they would be interested, too."

"Flora's only planning to make these for the Sweetwater military right now. No good selling them to Cliffside, after all, yes. Flora doubts that'd sit well with almost anyone."

Angus flicks his ears a moment as he nods. "I may know a few from the navy, might take a bit to contact them if they are out at sea right now but if this can help them I'll make sure to get their attention." He answers her, rolling the thing on his desk again as he thinks on this. "You know the moment they realize you are just providing these for sweetwater the other nations will try and steal them right?"

"And if Flora decides to sell them to Cliffside? Flora would assume that no-one in the Sweetwater Military would appreciate that, yes? Let alone if LongTech starts supplying weapons or anything else to the military down the road," the she-cat offers, sighing softly. "Like Flora has said before, Flora would much prefer just publishing results. However, in this case, secrecy might build some... Raport with the military, guard and other Houses, yes. Something House Longtail would need in the future."

Angus smirks at that. "Ah, I see. You are also looking to garner a few favors then?" He comments, teasing her for a few moments. "Don't know how much you'll be able to use me for other then things involving the military so." He answers, shruging his shoulders a bit. As they speak the door opens, Sebastian returning with a tray of refreshments, steam coming off the coffee that he places on the desk for Angus. "You are a saint Sebastian." The fox says, giving the servant a grin as he takes a drink from his coffee, Flora recieving a cup of tea before Sebastian leaves the room, having not looked at Flora once.

"Flora, not specifically. But Flora would like to make sure to leave the house in a good standing in Sweetwater. And better to start early on, yes. Contacts are good," the she-cat offers with a smile on her lips, a flick of her tail.

She's leaning lightly on Bastet, as she takes a sip of her tea, and flicks her tail lightly. "Whether that means making spyglasses, or improving guns, or anything else. If House Longtail is going to survive, it needs a good reputation to replace the old reputation, yes?"

Angus blows on his coffee, taking a long drink before nodding. "One always needs a good reputation to get anywhere in this town, especially when they are among the nobility." He answers her, putting his coffee down. His ears perk a moment at an idea as he steeples his fingers. "You mentioned you might be able to improve guns?"

"Not right now. But who knows what LongTech will discover? Better black powder. Better methods of manufacturing, and so on. There are plenty of things to discover. Plenty of things LongTech could help with in the long run, yes," she offers with a smile on her lips.

Angus sighs a little at that. "Ah, was hoping you could possibly take a look at one of my pistols and give it a little more power, you know?" He asks, chuckling a little as he puts the pistol down on the table. "But I guess I'll just have to wait then." He shrugs his shoulders. "So when exactly is the fair starting anyway?"

A smile on the cat's lips, a flick of the ears. "Within a month or two, depending on the final steps of building, Flora would like to start. The buildings are taking shape, and Flora is in the process of finalizing the list of talks, yes. It will take a while, but it shouldn't be long, now, no. The gifts for the other nations are almost ready too, yes."

Angus nods once more, drinking his coffee. "Ah, gifts?" He asks curiously for a few moments, raising a brow as he puts down his coffee. "Trying to sweeten the deal so that they might buy some of your merchandise?"

"Trying to portray sweetwater in a good light," Flora offers with a small smile, a flick of her tail as she leans on Bastet and takes another sip. "The Fair represents Sweetwater as a whole, not LongTech. Although LongTech and House Blackback are the main sponsors, and advertised as such, yes."

Angus chuckles. "Of course, and the Solacious house will be represented as well as security. We are nothing but smiles and sunshine that will be the best way to keep the Wirefurs placated and won't at all make them incredibly angery." He answers, smiling in turn as he rests his chin on his hands.

"It is not the wirefurs that have Flora worried, no. Representatives from all countries will be present. If they start anything, it would be a blamage for the Wirefur, yes? On the same note, the Solacious are only there to keep the peace and deal with trouble. Flora trusts Friend Angus will ensure politics has no place in that, yes," she offers, tails flicking behind her, a little agitatedly, possibly.

Angus raises a brow as he smiles. "Why Lady Longtail." He states, using her offical title. "I would never dream of starting anything with the Wirefurs, I'm more concerned by their actions towards myself and my personal." He answers, ears perking and swiveling as someone walks by his study, his emerald gaze still on Flora. "I have no intention of starting a war again, I've already nearly caused one once thank you."

"Good, yes. Flora would like to avoid any... Incidents, yes," the she-cat offers, her tails twitching behind her. "Flora would like to avoid that, too, yes. But ultimately, the reputation of Sweetwater and its houses are at stake. Flora does expect the best behavior from everyone... If things go wrong," she mumbles, looking down at the ground for a moment, before shaking her head. "Can't have things go wrong, no."

Angus nods once, finishing off his coffee before putting down the cup. "So it's settled then, the fair is going as planned with Solacious as security. Should be a fun little thing, we'll do our best to keep everything from going crazy alright?" He answers, leaning forward to pat her on the shoulder.

Flora... Still doesn't like being touched, by the look of things. Her ears fold back once the contact lasts just a little too long, and it's clear she has to suppress a rumble, as she pulls back. "Still not fond of touching, no. Flora is not fond of that," she mumbles, before nodding. "Flora wouldn't have agreed to have friend Angus take care of security if Flora didn't trust Friend Angus with security, no. Flora is sure it'll be fine."

Angus shrugs his shoulders when she expresses an issue with him touching her. "I assure you everything will go smoothly. If not? Well then I'll just have to fix it." He answers her, folding his hands together again as he watches her quietly.

Flora nods, although she still seems just a tad unsure. "Try... Making sure that is not necessary, yes. Flora would like house Longtail to come out of this in a better light, rather than a worse one, yes," the she-cat offers, her tails still twitching lightly. "Is there anything else friend Angus'd like to discuss before Flora goes back to work?" she offers, smiling once again. "Flora should see how work on the fair-center is continuing, yes."

Angus shakes his head. "Nothing I can think of at the moment, but thank you for coming." Grabbing the prototype he offers it to her before standing up to walk towards the door and open it for her. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to come back. Oh and bring the kids at some point, who knows. We could set up a play date with mine."

Flora nods, as she takes the prototype, and heads back out of the room, and into the manor at large, where, once again, the servants insist she should be seen out, as is tradition, and she, once again, just walks past the poor beings.

Not before saying goodbye, of course, and noting she'll contemplate bringing the children along at some point.
