A mumble, a slight twitch as Trace is practicing his magic. Both fire and air spells fly out over the water, all small, but clearly, controlled. Occasionally, small sparks of electricity dance between his feathers, and the kite does seem to manage smaller lightningbolts, by the looks of things.

Cedric walks across the beach sand, dressed lightly for a morning swim when he runs across the avian practicing, purely by coincidence this time. He sets down his bag in the sand nearby as he stands a short distance away to observe for a moment before speaking up. "Looks like you're doing a lot better now." he says, finally.

A nod, a mumble. "I've... Things happened," he mumbles. "Zapped a being again... But... This one deserved it... And I didn't kill 'im," he mutters after a while, shooting another small bolt of lightning from his fingertips, over the ocean. "I... I can control small lightning-spells. And... If he didn't approach in public... I think I would've struck him down," he mumbles, looking a bit more glum, as if unsure whether or not that's such a good thing.

The badger nods as he watches the the display of electricity, "Ah... yeah. Last time we'd done this, wasn't long after I'd zapped a being myself, but it sort of... had the opposite effect on me." he says, clearing his throat before quickly changing the subject. "Well, anyway. Whatever happened there seems to be a good thing. A confidence boost, I'd imagine?" he inquires, tilting his head as he reaches across his chest to rub his still-tender right shoulderblade, though it's healing up rather nicely.

"I... I can't really call the... The prettiest ladybird in Firmament being threatened a... Good thing," he mutters, looking down at the ground and not seeming to notice his slip of the tongue at the moment... "I... I mean, in retrospect, she could've handled herself, but still..."

"I... mean the result is a good thing. The improvement in your casting..." Cedric replies, raising an eyebrow, not quite understanding why Trace would interpret his words like that. "No, it's not a good thing, people being attacked and threatened... but at least now you know you're capable of controlling things when it counts, right?" he adds, with a tilt of his head. "Anyhow. Show me again."

A nod, a mumble, and Trace draws a set of equations in the air, sparks traveling towards his fingers and suddenly discharging in a small bolt of electricity. "I... Did something else to the cat that approached Sveta... I... I could show you, though it hurts like hell, even if it doesn't really do a lot of lasting damage," he mumbles, scratching the back of his head. "But to show that, I really do need a living target... Prob-... Probably best if I don't show it without reason..."

Jera decides that it's a good morning to go for a walk into the beach, the glowing fox walking along the beach side, enjoying the cool touch of seawater on his bare feet before he watches the group ahead. He peers curiously and decides to join them, spotting a familiar badger from afar first. He doesn't make a sound just yet though, not wanting to interrupt a spell.

The badger nods, considering the idea of acting as a living target himself. He reaches up to rub at his chin, pondering whether or not it's really a good idea to do such a thing. "Hmm... I'd say just go for it." Cedric says after contemplation, stretching his arms out to either side and nodding. "Probably wouldn't be the most unpleasant thing I've experienced this week." he adds, chuckling.

Another mumble, a slight twitch as Trace gulps audibly, working up another small spell, before sparks dance around Cedric's form, puffing his hide up and doing, well... Pretty much nothing else. "I... I did this... You'll want to avoid the water... And metal... And touching the ground with a bare part of your body," he mutters, before looking around hesitantly... Didn't need anyone thinking he was trying to hurt the badger, after all.

Jera waves to Cedric for a while before he watches the unfamiliar bird, listening to him talk about magic and finding a curious smile crossing his face. "Hello. Is this a bad time?" He notices Trace's discomfort and asks with a polite bow, his ears flicking and twitching atop his head.

Cedric glances down for a second, checking his lower body. Yup, pants and a pair of sturdy boots touching the sand, although he's not wearing a shirt, and with sparks dancing around him and puffing up his wiry black and white fur quite a bit. "Huh. That's interesting. I think I can imagine why I'd want to avoid those things." he replies, keeping himself very still and making sure not to touch anything. He glances over to the fox, slowly, as the lightning spell continues crackling around him. "Not at all, he was just showing me something... might not be a good idea to get too close to me until Trace revoes this though."

Jera makes sure to cover himself by holding out his cape, wind gusting through the holes as he keeps his distance. "Yes...not too good an idea indeed..." He watches the spell with widened eyes, clearly admiring it a little.

A mumble, a slight twitch. "I... I'm fine. I can... I can try and spark it away, though if either of you could, that... That would probably be safer," he mumbles, again twitching a moment. "It just hurts a lot if you do discharge the sparks yourself, though... Won't actually harm you," he mumbles as he looks between the two again.

Cedric nods very slowly in response, not really wanting to discharge them manually and go through with the pain. He slowly moves an arm to point towards the sea, away from the other two, and closes his eyes. He concentrates intently on the math and attempts to gather up all the sparks dancing around him into one point at his outstretched hand so that they can be safely released towards the horizon without harming anyone.

And with a beautiful glow to light up the oceans too, if only it weren't mid day. Shame. Jera finds himself clapping a little at Trace's magic. "Impressive. Never had a flair for anything but air magic myself." He smiles at Cedric's careful display as well, tail swishing behind him.

"I... I'm okay with each of the four elements, really... But fire and air... They pull the hardests. Earth and water, they feel... Wrong. Like, it's not my element, so to say," he explains after a moment of contemplation. "Even though my tutors did say I had the potential for greatness in any school, for what it's worth," he mumbles, looking out over the water.

Asher patters across the hot sand of the beach, panting happily. He has discarded his normal clothes somewhere and is wearing a little pair of red and white striped swimming trunks tied across his round little belly with a bit of red string. He doesn't seem especially interested in swimming, but every now and then, the little canine splashed through the surf to cool off. He seems to just be finishing up a long run. Well, long for someone with legs as small as his anyway. Seeing the gathering on the beach, the corgi huffs and puffs to a stop, giving a little wave before bending over and putting his hands on his knees. "Hello" he gasps, huffing and puffing between words, "Beautiful *gasp* day *Huff* isnt it?"
