There's not a lot of noise in the maritime district save for the soft patter of light rain on the cobblestone streets and roofing tiles of the houses and workshops dotted about.

Selena's house door is left oddly open, the wolfess visible in the living room that doubled as her study lying against her desk for what can't be the first time that week, papers and books lying as close to everywhere as they could be.

A soft rumble, a small tailflick as Flora makes her way through the rain, knocking momentarily on the door to Selena's house, several times in a row, and waiting for Selena to come to the door... Even if it's open. And of course, if Selena takes too long, she simply knocks a few more times... And then a few more.

For a while it seems like the wolfess simply isn't going to wake up, though finally, sounds of shifting and a slight thud come from the room she was in, followed by slight grumbling. "Come in." comes a decidedly groggy announcement from the living room, along with the telltale clinking of some bottles and the pop of a cork as she downs a dulling potion.

A small nod, a slight rumble as Flora steps in. "Is Friend Selena alright? Friend Selena's door is open... That looks like a bad idea, yes yes... Should Flora close it?" the cat notes and asks, causually, even as she scan several of the papers scattered around the room, to discern their contents.

Selena sighs quietly, picking a careful path back across her floor and taking the papers from it. "... It was?" She asks as if slightly confused. "Ugh. Please, if you wouldn't mind." The wolfess comments, looking back around the room a little bit distastefully - several chores would definitely need doing before one could call it 'clean' as it historically was.

Among other papers on the floor are some odd titles on creator spells - after all, some could be replicated now - with a particular interest on those that couldn't be transcribed - not that the several empty bottle of (presumably) cider scattered on the main table corroborated the theory that much research had been done. "I guess you're here about the furnace?" She asserts, thumbing through some of the pages she'd picked up before setting a number of them down on the table and the rest on her workbench, before moving the bottles away.

"Friend Selena asked Flora to come, no? Is friend Selena quite alright?" the she-cat asks curiously, closing the door behind her, even as she averts her eyes from the various papers to avoid the splitting migraine she gets from magic.

"If friend Selena asked Flora to come to talk about the furnace, then... Yes, Flora is here to talk about the furnace, Flora supposes?"

Selena sighs quietly and nods back to the cat. "Fine. It's... Fine." She replies, rubbing her temples for a few moments as the dulling potion kicks in. "I've just had a long week, that's all."

"I thought I'd pass on some design notes to you, since I don't know how much space you have beyond that picture you showed me. It's not a perfect scale, after all."

With a quiet sigh, she moves the papers out in front of the cat. "I've just written what magic needs to go where, the actual equations are in the books I've put down by the bench." With a soft sigh, she gestures to the back. "the largest problem is ventilation if you're placing the thing underground. I really recommend against it, but as long as you can channel the heat out of the room, then the design here should be fine. It can use fuel or it can just heat the metal grids; the air math pulls air through them to heat the chamber." "...Has the advantage of being far easier to control the heat from, just changing the number of active elements." She notes, rubbing her eyes. "Cooling system, if you have a tank of water placed above the furnace you can use some water and air magic to produce a very cold mist, everything's linked back to mechanical activation. I don't like runes too much, but they can be replaced easily enough as long as you don't interfere with anything below, above or behind the given lines, all of that is using three dimensional math for finer control." She explains.

Flora nods and flicks her ears as she looks over the designs, mentally trying to fit them into the room she had envisioned for the forge, even as she nods along with the explaination, silently. "Flora... Sees. Somewhat, yes... Magic is not Flora's strong-point," the cat mumbles softly, smiling faintly as she looks over the designs. "We may be able to place the forge aboveground, and add a feed towards the factory-floor... We can use the room as storage and feed-through, yes, maybe... But the designs appear to look good, yes."

Selena nods back to the cat, leaning back over her table. "...Second time this week I've fallen asleep out here." She mutters under her breath, aparrently not realising how loudly it came out. "As long as everything's credited properly on release of information, do what you want with it. It's simple enough as a concept, just a matter of-" A quiet yawn punctuates her speech "-Of getting it to scale with your environment. Too small and you make compromises in the 3-dimensional spells, which is bad. Too large and it becomes inefficient. I'll lend out the spells to you for copying, and I know Svetlana is a capable craftsbeing. She should be able to fix any minor issues."

Flora nods and flicks her ears. "Friend Selena should do something about that, yes... it doesn't sound particularly good for friend Selena's health," the cat notes, before looking at Selena with an almost... Worried look in her eyes.

"Flora will discuss with friend Sveta regarding the furnace, yes."

Selena coughs quietly at Flora's comment, waving a hand in a not-quite dismissive manner. "There are worse things that could happen." She replies in a slight monotone, looking back over the room with a sigh. "... Anyway. I thought I'd offer that up so you can go over the specifics and get back to me if you need any changes made. As it is the furnace isn't suitable for finer metals, and you'd have to figure out exactly how many sets of heated rods you'll be using to calibrate it properly... Much as I'd like to I don't have the space here to set up a proper testing model, and the Fortress is far enough away that carting resources becomes a problem."

"IF friend Selena is certain it will work and not damage any LongTech Industries property, a space can be reserved within the mansion's yard... We have the room for experiments. Meals are available at LongTech, which can simply be substracted from payments to be made... Our prices are similar to those of the inn, which Flora trusts is fair, yes?" the cat offers, before flicking her ears. "However, if Friend Selena is going to apply this work... Flora will have to ask for friend Selena to be well-rested on the job, yes," she mumbles after a moment or two of contemplation.

"The worst injury that could come from this is a burn unless someone is stupid enough to try and grab the metal while it's hot." Selena replies, shaking her head. "Or tries to roast their hand in it. I'm sure it would teach a good lesson." That said, the wolfess shakes her head. "I'm certain that all the component parts of the furnace work, either way. It's just a matter of ensuring they run as intended when put together. Nothing in this explodes if assembled correctly. If that's all... I think I need to sleep, Flora."

"That will be all yes. Have a good rest, yes yes," the she-cat rumbles softly, flicking her ears and heading back out. "And friend Selena? Let Flora know if there is anything you need, yes," she mumbles after a short moment of contemplation, before closing the door behind her and heading back into the rain.
