Amaterasu nods, following his instruction to the letter. She han't gone through this before... So... She still gripped Jera's hand before though. She just didn't trust herself without him there. "Jera..." she asks

Jera squeezes Amaterasu's hand with a soft sigh. He could offer close to minimal comfort considering he would have no experience at all on the matter. "It'll be alright. Our mothers all had to check the same way...and the machine isn't invasive at all." The kit fox smiles, leading the arctic fox to the altar-like table and then motioning to the priest, who turns a few dials and gets the machine started with a soft, high pitched whirr.

Amaterasu nods softly squeezing his hand lightly. She took what small reassurance his smile was able to give her, calming her down. "Just... What do we do if...?"

"Why are you so worried, dear? You should be happy!" Jera grins and then leans in to bump noses with Amaterasu. His smile is pretty earnest for one who's trained to put them on to make a living. "Now don't keep the priest waiting. It's not a long process..." The priest, a vole in ornate robes, already starting to clasp a wristband around the arctic fox's hand.

Amaterasu allows him, obeying any instruction given. He certantly knew how to make her feel better. "Well..." she glanced at the vole not everything in their time together was meant to be mentioned in public "I guess, I should stay in the city for a while if..."

"I'm also a priest. I'm not going to put my entire life's work and reputation on the line just to spread a few rumors." The vole smiles just a little, though he's more engrossed in actually getting the machine up and running. The wrist band monitors irregularities in Amaterasu's heartbeat, the readings making him blink a little. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to calm down, Miss." The vole presses a suction cup into her hands. "Press that near your heart. I'm not going to touch you there." Jera sits on one of the benches and watches from a bit away.

Amaterasu nods pressing the small cup to her breast, above her heart "I've... not had the best life." she offers. She wasn't going to say anything else on the matter, but she does calm down, she figured he knew what he was doing. Moreso then she did.

Jera fiddles with his hands and watches the machine, unable to decipher the readings at all. The priest seems to be able to read it just fine though, mumbling a little something to himself. Five awkward minutes pass. "Hmm, your pulse is a little bit slippery. It's rising and falling very quickly, and it's a lot faster than most foxes your age. All signs that you're bourne with child." The vole fiddles with the machine a little more, shifting Amaterasu's hand a little bit to check if it's picking up any strange heart murmurs or the like instead and finding none. "Most likely pregnant, yes. Jera also tells me that you were in heat." He starts to power the machine down, unstrapping the wristband from her hand. "Would you like a blessing? Optional, of course. I've been informed of the...background." The vole clears his throat and dodges, offering the arctic fox a glass of water after pouring it out.

Amaterasu glances to Jera "Well..." she shifted, never more concious of the spattering of silver on her back. "If you have anything for... someone like me." she did move back towards Jera a bit yeah she could justify her past, but that didn't mean she liked it. She didn't stray far from the priest though.

"People like you need the blessing more than others." The vole clasps Amaterasu's hands in his furless ones and then mumbles a soft prayer towards the Creators. "I hope the rumors aren't still going about town. Because I've seen many people...overseen many young ones through their aptitude tests, and you look like a good girl to me. I wish you well, but now I must hold mass soon." He starts packing up the machine, Jera picking himself off the chair and just hoisting Ama by her hips, carrying her out of the church with a soft promise to treat her to dinner and then rest in the Manor afterward.
