In the middle of the dark streets, a swollow lays there, clutching to a piece of parchment, eyes closes, but would be staring at the cobblestone and dirt road if not, "H.. help.. get.too.... the.. Lightbrings.. to... the guards.." He says to no one in particular. He struggles along to drag himself a few more inches.

Siyu sees this poor thing laying in the middle of the street and he chitters and rushes on over, "Easy...easy, the Lightbringers? What's going on." the rodent is nervous, trying to lift the swallow up a bit, he's small in stature so mostly just trying to make sure he's not going to die in the next 5 minutes, letting him know that someone is here.

Dio heard a few words or whispers about a strange bird during his typical walks around town. Heading over to check it out, he eventually arrives at Mange Square and spots what certainly could be classified as out of the ordinary. The lion makes his way through the population and looks down at the poor individual. "Ya doin' alright there, lad?" He asks somewhat rhetorically. "Do ya need any medical aid? I got some bandage an' a few supplies with me from my walk outside o' town."

Milling crowds, poverty, violence...it was like a homecoming for Noosha. She peeks out under the shoulders of some of the taller folks in the gathering throng. Best not to get involved yet--if there's a chance to make a little something out the situation, it's not while they're calling for the local do-gooders.

The decrepted being looks up as finally someone seems to answer him, opening his eyes... his bloodshot, white... empty eyes. They stare into nothing, see nothing. He coughs a moment, hacking up blood and another viscus fluid, "Please... get... to the nationals.." he manages again, feeling someone lifting him up a bit, he cries out in searing pain at the touch. Most beings just keep walking by, as if nothing were going on, a few whispered things, but nearly everyone tries to avoid the bird more then anything else.

Siyu winces, he's not a healer, he's not even close to knowing how to handle disease, and at first he looks a little shocked. Wondering if he should be touching the bird at all. He sucks in a breath and steels himself though, looking back over towards Dio and he chitters, "If you have any medical supplies yes, I think we're going to need them, I don't know, he looks...he looks pretty sick. Can you take care of him Dio?" he asks as he'll take the parchment, and give it a quick glance over.

How strange it was that so many people simply passed them by. Shouldn't at least one person be somewhat concerned, perhaps even calling a guard? Maybe there was something more to this, but he couldn't let someone start bleeding everywhere without at least trying to do something. "I know a few things 'bout cleanin' some typical wounds an' glances ya get durin' battle, but that's 'bout it. I can try my best with what I got though." Dio reaches into his coat and pulls out a small medical kit filled with bandages, herbs, and other basic supplies one might take before a battle. And to help with the pain, he also reveals a dulling potion. "This should 'elp ya out, lad. Try an' swallow it." He does his best to force the bottle into the bird's lips and pour the liquid into his mouth, but if he should fail, it's but drops upon the street. "ANY O' YA MIND HELPIN'," the lion shouts as he looks over the bird and attempts to find any cuts, bruises, or whatever he can patch up and does his best to assist.

Oh? Nationals? Sounds...promising. Noosha pushes her way through some more taller folk to emerge near Siyu, fixing a look of mild concern on her face--though her eyes are actually on the parchment, reading it over--thank the creators that someone even shorter than her got the paper! She puzzles over what little glances she gets, seeing if she can glean anything from it.

More coughing, and a lot more loss of what seems like it should stay inside. The potion and medicines seem to ease his pain, his panted and labored breaths getting a bit easier, "The guards.... get... to the.. Lightbringers..." he says again, shaking there a moment before, his breaths grow more shallow a moment, then, no more.

Those beings around who could see and hear what was going on seem to do nothing at all. Could they see? Could they even hear? No one even turns a head when Dio calls out.

Siyu blinks a little bit, "What in the hell..." he says and he stares a little bit at the parchment, "The Lightbringer,s bring this?" he asks and he frowns some and he will move to pull out some of his own bandages, just sort of shaking his head, "What does this mean friend? It's just an advert." not understanding, but offering the parchment back to Dio for him to look at as he'll try his hand at keeping the bird at least concious. And then of course he dies. He chitters nervously and looks back at the papers, "It's...it's nothing, it's just an advert..." he clicks his teeth, "I suppose we should find Angus, or Fenris...I mean, seems as if his last breath was to get this message to him." he looks very nervous at being next to the now, dead body, amazing how quickly it changes from concern to displeasure, just one breath. Is there a corpse cart in the city. He seems a little distracted as he holds the parchment out.

Dio did his very best to cover and clean what he could, but it seems the only thing he could do is ease the pain. As he witnessed the bird's final breath, the lion grows a heavy frown and shifts his body into the most dignified position as possible. Holding up one hand, he closes his eyes for a moment, muttering a small prayer not of any church, but perhaps something of those who frequent the battlefield. Finished with his personal ritual, his eyes open and read the strange paper. "Somethin' 'bout this ain't right," he says, packing up his supplies and standing up. "I think they works o' spirits are involved. Maybe an Ol' One. I remember some group called the Technologists tried to steal some creator artifacts by brain washin' someone an' havin' them bring the artifacts to 'em. This might not be the same, but maybe similar." Something certainly was wrong, and Dio tried his best to wrap his brain around it. For a test, the lion tries to walk up to a being and stop him for a conversation. "Good day to ya," he says to a random being, "Do ya see a bird layin' down right there." With a finger, he points to where the bird should be, wondering what they might say when asked directly.

Noosha stares up at the large, swarthy lion interrogating her. Hope she's as good at putting on a show here as she was at the Inn. Putting on a voice far older than her appearance, she squints down his big, meaty finger. "Aye? Another victim of the slums, hmm? Happens everyday 'round here, y'know. Hmph."

Covered up, and mostly clean, the swollow is no more, but they did have the parchment he carried. As well as his final wishes.

Siyu clears his throat a beat and ahems at Dio, "Well come on then Dio, I suppose we should go find the Lightbringers, and call the church. Im sure the church can mange to put the poor thing to rest and the Lightbringers are to be told about it. I don't know what exactly this means but..." he shrugs, "It's what he wished, let's go"

Looking over to the lion conversing with Noosha, a bulldog walks over, looking at the taller being, whispering to him a moment and walking on, spending as little time there as she could, and looking like she did not want to be around right now.

Dio stares at Noosha increduously and tilts his head at the answer. "The slums..." he mumbles under his breath, looking at the body again. "I don' think this is yer ordinary robbery gone bad o' somethin'. Anyways, let's get..." Before he knew it, a batch of hot breath blew into his ears along with a faint whisper that caused him to bite his lip. "I see... That's disappointin'..." The lion looked defeated for a moment and eventually nodded his head. "Very well, let's head to the Lightbringers. Suppose it's the least we could do." He takes a few steps forward through the crowd and waits for the others to follow.

As a stranger comes over and imparts something Noosha can't quite hear to Dio, she pricks her ears. This is getting more interesting by the moment. But then--what? The great lion began making his way out, and Noosha froze, the gears turning in her head. She had no association with this bunch, but curiosity gnawed at her, and she followed in his wake. "Eh! Is there aught one can do to help you lot?" she called out in her high little voice.

Walking over toward the barracks, there is some training going on in the back, inside the training yard. The night watch is on, Amy is out, sweeping the steps, looking up as she notices Siyu, Dio, and Noosha walking up. She tilts her head and looks to Dio primarily, "Good evening good beings, what brings you here?" she asks, still looking as she had back at the Twin Pillows.

Siyu looks around, the Freeswords are close, and hte barracks, he'll nod to Dio, "We should head to the Barracks, I'm not sure if I would want to bother the house Solacious with this..." he's not sure it's anything, after all it doesn't seem as if there's a tight connection between this note and what happened to the fellow. He at least will try to talk to the freeswords and have a corpse cart brought over. And of course, deliver this little advert to the Lightbringers. Other then that he thinks it's just an errand. An odd event and nothing more. He'll bow his head politely to the Night Watch, "Greetings and Salutations, would Lord Angus Solacious be around? Or prehaps Fenris? We have a message to give to the Lightbringers, and those are the only two I know by name." the small pretty rodent asks.

"Ain't sure lass," Dio responds to Noosha. "Jus' tryin' to figure out this mystery that's seems 'nough to die over." The lion nods to Siyu and begins making his way towards the barracks. Arriving, he looks around for someone he thinks might be high up in the chain, but eventually discovers Amy. "O-oh.. Yes! Uh... 'ello there lass," he says somewhat nervously while rubbing his neck, a large departure from his typical behavior. "Someone used their dyin' breath to ask us to 'and over this message 'ere." The lion's muzzle points towards the note for emphasis.

Noosha looks around, her eyes darting around with a mix of curiosity and discomfort. If it's worth killing over, it's either because it's worth a significant amount, or because it's a very personal matter--which can lucrative, if done right. But this whole 'right side of the law' and 'going to the authorities' has never been her normal modus operandi, and she feels distinctly out of place heading into the barracks with this crowd.

Amy walks a bit forward and, hugs on Dio a moment, "Thank you, for before. And if you'd like to meet up at the Twin Pillows, I've been thinking of making a day job of it." she says, her step a bit lighter then before her kidnapping, smiling a bit more easily. After though she works her uniform over a moment, "But yes, you all have something to report? I'm afraid Milady Mirana isn't in, nor is Lord Angus or Private Fenris, but I'll be happy to help. I'm not sure when Lady Mirana will be reporting back in, I do hope it soon, kind of miss her, best medic we ever had." She says, looking to the paper, "Well, what is it?" She asks again, waiting for an explination.

Siyu blinks a little bit at Amy, "Re...really, I do some part time...wait never mind that's not on topic..." he coughs to himself and tugs at his large ear, the earring jingles a tiny bit. "Ahem, ahem...a poor soul, a swallow, looked like death was begging for help. We all three..." he gives the benifit of the doubt to Noosha, "Tried to help him, but the poor soul is with the creators, he gave his life breath expressing the fact that the Lightbringers should be shown this." he motions and holds out the parchment with the advertisment, "IF you have an officer about I'd at least give it to him, so he knows. After all the man gave it with his last breath. Should at least be seen"

Dio wasn't sure how to react to being hugged to that lioness. Others he didn't seem to have a problem with close contact, but something made him freeze up a little on the spot. Slowly, his arms come up and give Amy a small and weak grab. "Y-yea... ya seem to be quite 'appy, lass. It's been a couple o' months." However, there was business at hand. He breaks away from the hug and takes some steps backwards. "We ain't sure what to make o' this. The way it says "A whole new you," like that makes me think o' the machine that changes yer body. Perhaps the area on the paper should be investigated."

Noosha catches a glimpse of the lion squirming at affection--didn't really gave anything to do with the ongoing investigation, but it did confirm her theory that these folk were a queer sort, boastful in their claims and timid in their actions. Still, she had kept to herself lately and this piqued her interest. "Ah, what strange machine is this, sir?" she squeaked to Dio.

Amy takes the item and listens to the report, sounding a bit shocked at it all, "Yes, of course, I'll have to give this to the current night watch captain, but, yes, thank you all." she looks more then a little shaken up by that, looking between everyone carefully, she opens it up and studies the mark a moment before, with a polite nod, heads into give her report.

Siyu takes a deep breath, he ignores the reactions with the two lions, and just smooths over his clothing, he'll wat of course to talk again, Dio's statment causes him to tilt his head. "Wait...there's...more?" he inquires, "I mean, there's somthing more to this?" He furrows his brow, "A machine?" he looks bakc at Amy again and nods, "Well I just...I just wanted to make sure his last words were followed."

Dio nods his head towards Amy and then looks towards the others. "Yeah, a machine that changes yer body to somethin' else. Can go from a lion to a wolf if ya wanted, but that ain't fer me. I'm quite proud o' my liony nature," he says, tugging his coat and complimenting his statement with a prideful look. "But it might not be the same machine. Could be somethin' bad, lurin' people in an' doin' nasty things to 'em. Won't know 'til we investigate. Fer now, let's make sure that bird gets his rest."

"Oh, this one can see to that, sir, you needn't get your hands dirty" Noosha squeaks in a wheedling tone. "This humble one can take care of it...the Freeswords would likely hand this dirty work to this one anyway." Get these folks out of here and perhaps she could do a bit of post-mortem salvage--er, investigation herself.
