Evening down at the beach. Despite the late hour, the place has been decorated gaily - streamers and banners hang from a number of poles driven deep into the sand, and a large stretch of the waterfront has been brightly lit up by a good number of lanterns, flickering away with fire mathemagic. Seems like all stops have been pulled to give the place a comfortable yet soothing atmosphere.

On the beach, a small line of people has formed. Some bear instruments, others bear little more than their voices, but all await their turn to be brought to the fore and have their instrument choice and music taste noted down by a clever-clanned Falcon. Others are content to step back and watch the action - free entertainment is a bit too good to be passed up, it seems.

Leian wanders up to Sveta, her tail swaying softly behind her as she smiles at the avian " Well, it looks good so far. I think the event will be a great success once we are ready. I cant wait to hear the variety of music from everyone! I feel so excited! I think this was a great idea." she murrs merrily as she eyes the area happily " I feel like playing my flute, myself, just to see what the others think! Though.. I am a bit nervous.. I never played for so many people before.. Usualy just a few people, and children."

Nyx had sauntered down to the beach to watch, though with as long as she's been without practice in both dancing and singing she decides to watch the auditions instead of making a fool of herself before so many people.

Khyber aproached the event following shortly behind Nyx, yawning some as he gave a stretch. Trotting along on his own with his thumbs hooked into his pants as he looks around for anyone he knew, or had been told about, cracking his neck a little bit idly.

The falcon looks up at Leian a little sternly as she comes to the head of the line. "I think you've mistaken me for someone else, miss. But you're on the flute, you say? Anything you'd like to play in particular? What's your preferred genre of music? If beings are going to be playing together in the same group and slot, we're going to need to make sure they don't clash. I know you've helped organise the event, but it wouldn't do right to put you in without having you go through the same registration as the others."

The audience hasn't been forgotten, either. A number of folding chairs are being set out on the sand by ushers, while other more enterprising individuals peddle food and drink amongst the audience. It seems that there's noble patronage of some sort for the event - or at least, some sort of sponsors have been garnered.

Leian's ears twitch as she looks to the avian and her ears darken a red color " Oh, sorry. Thought you were Sveta. Must be the shadows. Anyway, yes, I play the flute. And I play it quite well in it's veriety of uses. I've been practicing since I was but a child, after my parents had the flute made for me, from what precious metals they had. I've never played anything other than it, as yet, though do wish to play others eventually. This may inspire me to do such."

Nyx slips into one of the chairs near the front, curling her tail back around the chair and back around to her lap while drawing her legs up to the side in the chair. Waiting to see what all is preformed this evening.

Khyber stands, not quite wanting to sit as he stands around... somewhere not in the way afterall. Probobly close to the back given how large he is. He's just waiting to see the show! smiling a bit at the prospect of what could be done today.

The falcon nods as he scribbles down Leian's particulars on a sheet of paper. "A generalist, hm? Miss Kuznetsova isn't around at the moment, she's negotiating funding for the event. But you're first up. When you're ready -" he points at a makeshift stage on the sand, put together from a number of wooden pallets draped with cloth - "please step up and play a piece that you think is most representative of your talents. I'm sure the audience is waiting to see what you can do." With that, he gives Leian one final nod and turns to the next in line.

Indeed, as the event takes shape, it becomes apparent as to where the funding is coming from - two cushioned chairs are set out in the sand, and an equal number of foxes, each bearing the seal of House Solacious, are ushered in to do the judging. There's a certain air of trepidation amongst the general audience as they enter, but it soon dissipates into the usual hubbub.

Leian nods lightly as she heads up onto the stage and pulls out her flute from her sash, ears falling back slightly as she places it to her muzzle and begins to play, eyes closing a bit as the tune begins to pass slowly from the instrument, the wind seeming to pick up around her, causing her clothes to ruffle upon her a bit

Nyx continues to watch quietly while the wolf lady performs, perking her ears to the sounds of the flute but not interupting in any way.

Khyber's ears perk a bit, flitting them, the sound of music was always nice. He stretched a bit as he listened with a smile.

Both foxes pay particular attention to Leian's tune, listening attentively as the wolfess plays. There's some hushed discussion between the two of them that goes on for a few minutes, and then one of them gives Leian an approving nod and a jerk of his thumb. "Calming. Soothing. Not sure if you would do better solo or as part of a band, though, but we can discuss that later. Your five minutes aren't up yet, though. Please, continue if you will. Perhaps something in a different vein?"

Behind Leian, more beings await their turn - some with stringed intruments, others with wind instruments. The audience, too, appears to be prepared for certain eventualities - some have saved the softer, squishier and less edible snacks, although they haven't had cause to use them yet.

Leian's tail sways behind her, before she switches to a more heavier tune, almost sounding like some form of story being played out. The high and low tones sounding similar to that of some form of battle being played out between villain, and hero, with an occasional soft tune, as though to represent a captive maiden

Nyx never was much of one to throw food at a bad performance so her hands are empty save for her tail. Having danced and such in the Inn herself on rare occasion nothing more hurtful than thrown objects after you're done.

Khyber just listened gently, bobbing his head gently to the tunes while he moves to cross his arms instead with a smile.

"And thank you for that," the other fox says as Leian finishes up. "Time's a bit limited, next please."

After Leian leaves, other hopefuls come and take their place on the stage, each of them with five minutes to present their varying levels of musical proficiency to the audience. Some are cheered, others jeered, and a select few have various recently-edible objects hurled in their direction before shamefully slinking off. Throughout the whole process, both Solacious foxes turn a careful ear to the music, discussing amongst themselves and from amongst those cheered on by the audience, picking a select few and ushering them to one side to where Leian is, so they can have their particulars taken down once more by the falcon.

Shaytalis arrives a bit late to the party to see what's going on. She finds a spot to sit on the beach and watch, listening to the music.

Leian sits in a chair, tail swaying behind her as she sighs softly to herself, holding her flute close to her as she listens to the others who came after her, ears twitching softly as she watches the gathering " I hope it turns out as good, if not better, when the actual event begins" she murrs softly to herself

Nyx clapped at the end of Leian's performance and a few others, the ones that warented food thrown she just remained quiet at the end. Feeling slightly sorry for those people who made the effort at least.

Khyber also clapped, smiling as Leian moves to sit in a chair, smiling from his position standing. It took someone brave to stand up on stage and play, everyone was worth some applause after all just for that.

More and more beings arrive to have their go at being auditioned, almost all of whom are turned away after their brief five minutes of fame. Seems like the judges are being picky - and rightfully so, considering how much is being spent on even just the audition. After everyone is done, though, one of them clears his throat and says something to the falcon, who then leaves his seat and addresses the audience.

"Seems like we didn't fill in all the spots today," he says. "Although this is probably enough to start planning the festival in earnest, we'll probably be having another audition at a later date. Please do tell anyone you know whom might be interested in a public performance. In the meantime, the event grounds will still be open for a little longer. Please stay awhile and enjoy the refreshments, while we sort out the luck few who made it in."

Nyx stretches a bit from her chair after it all seems finished...maybe she'll get up the courage to dance at the next one.

Leian nods softly as she watches the last few performers and smiles to each, though a bit shyly to more of the male ones especially " Well, keep practicing. You'll all get there eventually!" she sighs contently and stands as she heads over to the refreshments table, for a drink and some dried meat, murring to herself satisfiedly

Khyber chuckles softly, padding over to the refreshment table so that he may catch some for himself!
