Pushing open the church's front door slightly, Zalthar slips in. Rather unusually for the cat, her hood is actually down for once, ears twitching every which way towards the smallest of sounds.

In her hand, a rolled up piece of paper is clutched tightly, and held close to her body, and she squeezes just a little bit tighter as she looks about for something, or someone.

Around Zalthar, there's several priests conversing with the various beings still present after noonday mass. Most people have left at this point, although there's at least a few still inside. A pregnant sheep, currently talking with one of the more medically inclined priests. A being, clearly a golem-crafter, no doubt conversing with a priest about the recent discovery Zalthar was a part of, and another being, off in the corner, having his own conversation. That ultimately leaves a single rhino as approachable... So far, it doesn't seem like people are paying the short cat much mind, though.

With a fortifying sigh, Zalthar makes her way over to the Rhino, skirting around the edges of the church's priests and various groups. Once a couple feet away, she pauses for a few moments, before looking up.

"Excuse me" She says, almost mechanically, trying to get their attention. "Who... who would I talk to about clearing my name with the church?" Zalthar's really not one to mince words, especially with how she's shifting from foot to foot, unable to hold still.

"Hmm?" comes a single, nearly soundless response from the rhino-priest, before Zalthar is offered a smile. "Ah. Right. You're... One of those three that ran off with several priceless artifacts recently, aren't you?" he offers, quietly enough that no-one else has to hear, before he gestures towards a small staircase in the back, before making his way over, and gesturing for the small cat to follow him.

Zalthar follows close behind, nodding. Without a word, she follows the rhino up the stairs. Her twin tails are curled around her torso and midriff, hugging her tightly as she takes in her surroundings. A couple of times, she opens her mouth as if to say something, but just as quickly closes it, letting the priest lead any discussion for the time being.

Soon enough, Zalthar finds herself in a small office-like room, together with the priest, who is simply quietly smiling at her. "The church is almost always willing to forgive, sister. However, forget, the church does not... Especially when the acts of a trusted being may result in the spread of Creator's Wrath... Or worse... But please, state your case," he offers, his tone stern, but not unfriendly.

Zalthar shuts her eyes tightly and takes a few breaths, before looking up at him "Near the end of the mission, I had been caught in some kind of net. As I was freeing myself, the two others started to help, and then one picked up the net, with me inside, and left. I was too unfocused to take in what was happening at the time, from using my magic a little too much." Her hands clench into fists, and she looks down at the floor "I do not know where they took the artifacts, after they dropped me off at the camp, and I have not seen them since."

"I see," the rhino offers, his features still just as stern, though his voice does suggest he's not entirely disbelieving. "Any indication of where we might find the other two, sister?" he adds, quietly looking towards the window. "Being harmed by Creator's Wrath really is a terrible fate I wouldn't wish on anyone. You can understand why the church is eager to get these artifacts back, I hope, sister?"

Zalthar shakes her head, "I wish I knew. If I see one or the other of them... I could try to ask them to return them." She looks away, continuing "Knowing one of them... they're on their way to being sold, I would guess. It wouldn't be smart to keep such things around, and they probably go for a fair amount of sceptres in certain circles." Her voice is starting to lighten up a bit, her words flowing more naturally now. "If I were to try to sell them.... Hmm... I personally would try to go to a different country, but that would be something of a hassle...."

"Right, well. Here's what we can do for you right now. We'll strike your name off the record, for the time being. However, understand that until we decide otherwise, any mission you do for the church will be supervised and scrutinized... The fastest way to resolve this issue would, of course, be for the taken artifacts to be returned to the church," the rhino offers.

"Beyond that, we would appreciate any and all information you can provide."

Zalthar nods "That sounds like a reasonable compromise to me." She pulls out a small notebook, scribbling something down after flicking to a specificly chosen page "I will keep an ear out for anything interesting." Only now, do both of her tails unfurl, flopping tiredly on the ground around her feet. "While on the topic, are there any artifacts that have gone missing recently? I cannot make any promises, of course, but I could keep an ear out for those, in addition."

"Should the church require your assistance with other missing artifacts, we will let you know, sister," the rhino offers, putting an emphasis on the first word, before smiling again. "Of course, if you hear anything about other artefacts, the church always appreciates being informed."

Zalthar nods, putting her book away "Thank you again. If there is nothing else, I will take my leave?" she asks, a glance given towards the doorway, as she starts to fidget and become restless once more.

"Unless you have more to share, Sister, I believe that will be all. Go with the word of the Creators," the rhino offers, before standing again, and opening the door for Zalthar.

Zalthar nods and responds with her own "Fair winds." before bowing her head and slipping through the door, tails snaking through the portal after her.
