An odd setting for an interview, to be sure -- A Kitchen? Seems Selena's sitting back and having a drink of some cider and reading a book. The title's barely legible, unfortunately. It would seem she's expecting someone or something to happen, judging from a little bit of restlessness in her body language.

David is led by someone to the kitchen, he blinks as he looks around curiously and then settles his gaze onto you, "Hey Selena. A kitchen?" he has your letter in his hand

Selena nods, waving back to the otter. "Yes, a Kitchen. You think I'd be drinking in my workshop? That'd just be irresponsible." She chuckles, kicking out a seat idly - is she drunk? She isn't slurring, but there's a thick accent on her voice. A Cliffside accent. "So I guess that makes you hear for the interview?" She smiles, chuckling quietly.

David ponders that and shrugs, "I suppose not, but it is odd..." he shrugs and smiles as he takes a seat, either not recognizing or not caring about your accent, "Yeah, that's what your letter said." he hmms a bit at your drinking though

Selena nods a few times. "SO then! What exactly made you interested in our unit, what can you tell me about us?" SHe smiles, taking a sip from her bottle. "...Should've bought more of this stuff." she muses quietly.

David chuckles and shrugs, "I heard from Kilsa that you were non-military, helped the poor and suffering, as well as helped them rebuild they're homes. It's something I want to do, to help the unfortunate, the injured and the sick." he tilts his head at the cider and ponders a bit, but doesn't say anything about it yet

Selena smiles broadly. "Good! Because you're absolutely right. We are exactly that. But when we have to, we do step in." She smiles, offering an unopened bottle across. "Since you already know what kinda stuff we do here and you know what you want to do, I'm pretty sure my next question should be along the lines of... 'why'?"

David smiles at that and nods as he takes the bottle, he peers at it a bit and gets up to look for a mug, "Yeah, Kilsa said that to... But I don't like to fight much, as for why? It's how I was raised. Mother is a doctor and father is a merchant, they got me the best treatment they could get me when I was hurt badly and got this scar..." he points to the scar on his face and shrugs as he finds a mug then continues, "I've always wanted to help those who can't heal like I can." he smiles broadly as he pours the cider

Selena smiles, though she presses; "Yeah, but why? What makes you want to help them heal? Would you pass the olive branch to your enemy if they were hurting and heal them too?" She asks, quirking a brow. "I mean. I help out because I want to protect the things that are important to me. And that's because without those things, there's not much of a point in existing." She shrugs with a chuckle, adding on to her comment, "Like Ari, actually."

David ponders that and nods, "I never really thought about it much, but yes... If the enemy was no longer a threat and I was sure they would no longer do any harm, yes I would help them as long as it wouldn't hurt anyone else." he hmms as he sips the cider and blinks at the taste, "Hey, this is pretty good..." before he shakes his head in though, "I know it probably sounds stupid, but I can't help feeling the way I do when I see someone hurt." he looks down at that

Selena nods approvingly. "I know. makes me wish I'd just bought the cask they brought in no a few bottles." She chuckles, shaking her head when the otter says it 'probably sounds stupid'. "Nonoo, it's not! It's not at all. Maybe not common, but it isn't stupid." she smiles. "I mean. You could be the good king or some noble and I'd still contest your action if I disagreed with it. It's just what you believe in and you stand up for it." She smiles, clearing her throat and murmering something to herself, moving to put some other full bottles away.

David blinks at that and nods with a smile, "Thank you, I was taught that it's a good sign of leadership if you can take critisim or advice and include it into your plan." he hmms? and chuckles at the murmering as he takes a sip of his cider

Selena chuckles lightheartedly. "Yeah, But it's another thing entirely to remember it." She comments. "I may have had more to drink than I intended. Nobody told me this was more alcoholic than the stuff the have at the inn." She gripes with a smile. "I'll have to bug Kilsa for membership papers soon, I think?" She comments, rifling through her bag for a moment.

David nods and shrugs at that, "True, and it can be hard sometimes I suppose..." he tilts his head and chuckles, "I don't think you're friends would let you drink too much, at least... I'd hope not." he smiles friendily and blinks at that, "Oh? Thank you miss Selena!" he sets down his mug and moves to hug you

Selena moves back from the otter a bit. "Hey, hey, we just met!" she chuckles, though allowing herself to be hugged. "Just don't go calling me miss, okay? My friends do let me drink, just Ari prefers I don't get addled when I do. And I prefer that too, but I get a little carried away sometimes." She shrugs, moving back little awkwardly. "How was I s'posed to know two bottles of this was more than four of the inn's ciders? Or something like that."

David hmms? and chuckles as he backs off a bit, "Sorry, I'm just happy I guess." he nods and smiles at that, "Ok. Thank you Selena." he nods at that and chuckles more, "I did say too much. Who's Ari though?" he nods at that as he picks his mug back up and smiles as he sips it

Selena chuckles quietly. "Ari's Ari!" She replies amusedly before that little light in her brain turns on. "Oh! Right, Ari as in Arimia. Lovely raccoon and the other person you coulda had an interview with."

David chuckles and grins at that, "Ah, I see. Yeah, Kilsa said to come to you or Arimia."

Selena nods. "Yep, because for whichever reason she isn't doing interviews herself?" She comments, noticably perplexed by the badger's standing on things. Stopping herself from grabbing another bottle, she sets herself down at the table. "So... Yeah! Great to have you unofficially on board until you can be officially on board. Paperwork is terrible, David." She notes a bit more seriously than necessary. "I'll get a message to Kilsa soon."

David shrugs at the perplexed look and frowns, "Is that abnormal for her?" he chuckles at that and nods, "Unless your father that is, he always did seem to like paperwork." but then he smiles and looks like he's going to hug again before he stops himself, "THank you."

Selena nods, offering her hand out to the otter instead. "Okay then David, I'll file my recommendation and such. Your Father must be an odd guy to enjoy all the legislation and stuff behind all this. It's a nightmare." She gripes. "Makes me very glad Kilsa's back on top of it."

David hmms? and chuckles at that, "Yeah, I suppose so." he shakes your hand and smiles broadly
