Luma Moth

"In the night, out of sight, they fly far. Catch them, keep them, light in a jar." (Common children's song across Promise)

For many children in the more temperate regions of Promise, summer nights are the night of the Luma Moth. Hatching from cocoons in silken nests, the hand-sized insects congregate in woodland and about water, flashing their bodies in various displays of bioluminescence. It's said that no two moths have the same colour pattern, although no one's ever seriously undertaken to disprove this old wives' tale.
