The Puzzler

An enigmatic vulpine fellow in a green striped suit and broad-brimmed hat. Often appearing out of nowhere, the Puzzler has a penchant for speaking in rhyme, setting tricks, traps and puzzles for others, and rewarding those who successfully solve his tasks. He is usually unpredictable and nonsensical, but can be serious when the need is great enough, or the mood simply strikes him.

Basic Pact

  • Bid: I bid you to always seek answers.
  • Offer: I offer you a second perspective to see around that which stands between you and understanding.
  • Purpose: You will always be seeking; though you will find much, it will never satisfy. My path is one of eternal exploration, and the joys and trials it brings with it.
  • Gift: Each supplicant is gifted a broad-brimmed pimp hat, complete with a feather. Any special powers this hat may have are yet untested - the fellow is enigmatic enough to leave it a puzzle, alas.
  • Mark: Once a supplicant sets their mind to a puzzle, it will become obvious to others. The longer they take in digging at it, the more obvious it will be, question marks forming on the skin or fur of the dedicant in the Puzzler's purple and green until they're completely spotted with such.

Benefits

  • The feather of the cap starts small, but can grow larger is the caller manages to forge a larger than basic pact.
  • When considering a puzzle, they may call upon the puzzler(in the form of the storyteller) for a hint. Hero points may be spent for additional hints, but doing so immediately increases the question marks and causes them to persist.
    • Using one hero point causes the marks to linger for an hour.
    • Using more causes them to last one day per point spent.
