Fighter

The Fighter is first into battle. They are capable of taking heavy damage and dealing it out in kind. It's because of this that the fighter is the lynchpin of any group, taking on the role of both damage dealer and tank, drawing the attention of enemies to themselves. Over time, Fighters gain more and more ability to avoid and soak up damage directed at them.
Fighter is one of the widest classifications and the simplest. Anyone who picks up a big weapon and a shield might be referred to as a fighter. Bodyguards, town guards, adventurers, gladiators, thugs, phalanx soldiers, woodsmen are all good examples of fighters.
