Sandtipede

Living in sandy wastes, the sandtipede waits out of the heat during the day, and emerges during the night to hunt insects. Its sand-coloured shell helps it blend into the desert, especially since it remains buried or under rocks much of the time.

While not aggressive, the large, segmented insectoid will defend itself if provoked, snapping at enemies with the venomous pinchers on its foremost legs.
