Freeswords' Trade
As the people taking up the adventuring trade increases, the business world tries to think of ways to use them to their advantage. One can only have their rats cleared from their warehouse so many times.
The Freesword's Guild has developed the first 'Express Shipping' carriage. This carriage utilizes magic in several ways to reduce friction and increase suspension on its six wheels. Guided by a team of six horses, the Express Shipping Carriage tries to captalize on high trade prices from far off or dangerous routes by eliminating overhead and utilizing adventurers.
The Freesword's Guild takes a very minor cut of the delivery, enough to cover the cost of the carriage and any losses. They then sign on the most daring and/or capable adventurers. The most capable, and the one that takes the highest cut, is the guidesman. He has an understanding of geography and is usually an expert in the lay of the land. The second is the driver, who has to keep the animals under constant water magic to keep them going strong and keep them from bolting. The rest are adventurers, who take a direct cut of the profits. If they survive.
Many don't. But the price of utilizing the carriage is enough that many find it worth it to gamble their lives for one big score.
