<div></div><br> <br>Fenris&#39; meditation behind the Divine Shield, is for the most part, uninterupted... Save for when the large of the Lost Ones approaches, a heavy hammer of scrapped creator steel in his hands. Leaning over as he waves a hand infront of the shield, and your face before focusing. &quot;Leeeel oon spack?&quot;<br> <br>Fenris looks calmly at the big. . . whatever the Lost Ones were. &quot;Yes,&quot; he says simply, &quot;I speak.&quot; He is a little surprised, this is the first time one of the Lost has ever SPOKEN to him.<br> <br>The Large armored lost one rises, barking something in a gutteral tone to his followers before looking back as he points to the lever. &quot;Woot leeeel oon oo? Bieeg spack.&quot; His followers glancing the way of his hand, before looking up at where the booming voice from earlier had come.<br> <br>That one makes Fenris think a little. Big Speak? Oh! That must be what they call the main machine spirit for whatever this vessel was. &quot;I asked the Big Speak to let my friends go in safety,&quot; he says, &quot;But I said that I would stay behind.&quot; His mind races for a reason to give the leader of this pack of lost as to why he would stay here. The little liger did not want them to think he was some kind of sacrifice!<br> <br>The big one blinks as he furrows his brow, and slams his weapons into the ground next to Fenris, putting a nice dent in the floor! &quot;NOO! uo poot Bieeg Spack eere!&quot; A low growl rising from him, before he points to the others... Given the condition of the area as they&#39;ve seen, it must be that they&#39;ve not head the &#39;big speak&#39; in some time. &quot;Uo coom.&quot;<br> <br>Fenris jumps a bit at the big fellow&#39;s outburst. &quot;Yes,&quot; he says, deciding to keep things as simple as possible, &quot;I will come.&quot; The tiny liger stands and follows after the big guy, mentally calculating how much of a beating his Divine Shield could handle if they could all pack that sort of punch. Best to avoid the fight until the status quo changed.<br> <br>The group for the most part give Fenris a wide berth as they lead him down through the passage ways, before coming into an tribal &#39;living&#39; area. An older woman is sitting upon a mat there, and the big guy makes straight for her, grunting out his gutteral language, while pointing at Fenris. The Woman&#39;s eyebrow raising before she points a bony finger and bekons the liger forward. &quot;You coome.&quot; Seems she can speak better!<br> <br>Fenris warily walks to the older female and bows low to her (bow #14, for high ranking foreign dignitaries). &quot;I am Fenris,&quot; he says, &quot;I will help you if I can.&quot; He looks from the female to the warrior who led him in.<br> <br>Fenris is awarded with a bony finger being jabbed in his direction as she growls. &quot;Yoo, brink Speak. Yoo noot wehlcohm.&quot; She pauses for a moment, before slowly making her way to her feet with a grunt. Two lost ones dragging what seems to be his golem into the room, explaining with excitement to the elder where it was, and how it killed one of their own!<br> <br>Fenris raises his hands, showing that he is unarmed. &quot;Then release me,&quot; he says, &quot;I will go and Big Speak will not return.&quot; He has to fight back a smile as the lost drag Quicksilver into the room. Now, if it is still functional. . . The tiny liger sends the tiniest wisp of mathemagic toward the golem. Just a command to light its eyes for a moment, to be sure it still worked.<br> <br>Certainly enough, the golem&#39;s eyes light for a moment at his command, perfectly functional! Even greater, is that the lost ones didn&#39;t seem to notice. The Old woman turning to jab a finger in his direction once more. &quot;NO! No spehk boot uhs. Yoo go, big spehk go too.&quot;<br> <br>Fenris frowns. &quot;I don&#39;t understand,&quot; he says, shaking his head, &quot;You want me to take Big Speak away?&quot; This could be a problem. But he is glad to see that Quicksilver was in working order. That was one more thing going his way should negotiations go south.<br> <br>The woman shakes her head and straightens up, drawing her thumb across her throat. &quot;No spehk, no teel boot uhs.&quot; OH dear. Seems she was insinuating they were going to kill him to keep their secret, and judging from the large amount of lost filtering into the room they werent going to delay it days...<br> <br>And there went the status quo! &quot;Quicksilver!&quot; Fenris calls, &quot;To me! Smoke Screen!&quot; The little liger makes a dash for his golem and its saddle. It could get him moving faster than he could on his own. The feline&#39;s eyes scan the room fir an escape route, no point heading back the way he came! And maybe he could even get some help from Big Speak if he could find an appropriate terminal.<br> <br>The activation of the golem seems totake them by surprise, affording him the chance he needs to get to his golem, though they&#39;re soon decending upon him like as swarm of locust! A smaller mainentance shaft to his left could perhaps afford him an escape, if his golem can crash through it...<br> <br>Fenris mentally urges Quicksilver toward the maintenance hatch even as dark smoke starts to billow from every crack and between every plate that makes up the golem&#39;s feline form. He lays himself flat against his construct&#39;s back and braces for impact!<br> <br>The Impact is jarring as they break through into the maintenance vent, with little room to move around in as they&#39;re free to make their way. The sounds of the Lost One&#39;s yelling in anger behind them, and the possibility of escape infront of them, the only way to go is forward!  It doesn&#39;t take long though, before the air begins to get far too hot, far too quickly, and they&#39;re left to exit out over a metal walkway perched over a large pool of magma.<br> <br>Fenris slows Quicksilver a bit, just to be careful. What kind of place WAS this that was buried in the volcano? The little liger does his best to cool the air around himself and his golem, if only for comfort&#39;s sake, moving along as quickly as he dared.<br> <br>Their path is pleasently unobstructed, as the Lost One&#39;s don&#39;t seem to be coming for him here, his magic working to cool the air for him slightly as they move then. Near te end of this walkway, sits what appears to be a blocky building, hanging from the cieling, The door itself has numerous creator runes upon it, and is -far- too thick to think about breaking.<br> <br>Fenris sighs in relief, glad that the Lost have not followed. Yet. As he draws up to the strange, hanging building he looks over the runes carefully. This could be his way out!<br> <br>His examination yiled fantastic results, as with a single tap he manages to cause the door to open! Sliding off to the side to allow him entrance, before closing behind him. The room itself is mostly bear, though there are two chairs, and a desk made of blinking lights. On the floor near the desk however, is the ancient and decreptyd skeleton of what -had- to have been a male fox at some point.<br> <br>A being! A dead being. This might not be the way out. Fenris hops off of his golem and paces over to the body. &quot;You&#39;ve been here a long time, haven&#39;t you, friend,&quot; he says quietly, looking over the corpse, then turning to look at all the lights.<br> <br>If anything, that corpse is positivily -ancient-! The sealing of this room must been what had kept it in any condition at all instead of falling to dust. As he turns to look at the lights, one in the center seems to pulse for a moment, before a low and deep voice speaking the ancient language projects from two vents below it. &quot;HE HAS BEEN HERE LONGER THAN YOU COMPREHEND.&quot;<br> <br>Fenris jumps a little. &quot;Hello?&quot; he calls in the Creator tongue, &quot;Are you the machine spirit of this place?&quot; He has learned a lot about machine spirits and about their powers lately, but his knowledge is still only a drop in the ocean of what he does not know. &quot;I am sorry if I am where I should not be,&quot; he says, &quot;I gave authorization codes to one of your golems earlier.&quot; One thing was sure, Big Speak was much bigger than Sylvia.<br> <br>The voice continues, lowering it&#39;s volume it appears. &quot;Authorizations code not needed, facility is beyond repair, invaded by local population broughtb by one Mephisticious, facility sealed away... Until latest intruders have damaged the facility in engagement with the local invaders. Explain.&quot; The bulb the only part blinking, lighting up the room with each flash of it&#39;s light.<br> <br>Fenris scratches at his mane. &quot;Mephisticious?&quot; he asks, looking at the fox skeleton, &quot;Is that our quiet friend here?&quot; He thinks for a moment, organizing his words. &quot;I apologize for the intrusion,&quot; he says, &quot;My friends and I accidentally stumbled upon this facility while exploring a system of excavations above. We only tried to find the way out.&quot; He looks around at the flickering lights. &quot;What is this facility?&quot; he asks.<br> <br>&quot;Your intrusion is not hostile, merely the effect og Mephisticious&#39; intervention in his gambit to attempt to hide this facility to he could create a society here.&quot; The light pauses for a moment before begining once more. &quot;Those are his remains, yes. This facility is [HEAT] Monitering Station 1D9A. Current status: Damaged beyond repair.&quot;<br> <br>&quot;Hide a society?&quot; Fenris asks, &quot;You mean the Lost Ones? Er, the invaders?&quot; The little liger frowns. &quot;How long ago did this happen?&quot; he asks, &quot;I have never heard of Mephisticious.&quot;<br> <br>The Machine begins to process for a moment, before speaking out once more. &quot;Mephisticious stumbled upon the facility, aproximatly one hundred, and twenty two years ago. He brought with himself three females, declaring themselves here to aid in the secrecy of the station. Protocoles were correct, and authorization valid, though once sealed within with my assistance, they began to propigate until the ones you call LOST ONES are what you have ran into in the halls. Duties to aid in upkeep of station were forgotten as he had achieved his desire, locking out key systems I had designated for repair, before retreating to the now defunct incinerator room. You are the first intruder since everything had become sealed.&quot; The Light seems to stop for a moment, before a smaller beam of light shoots out over fenris for a few seconds to scan him.<br> <br>Fenris watches the scan with curiosity. &quot;Um,&quot; he says, &quot;Is there something I can do to help? Why are you scanning me?&quot;<br> <br>&quot;There is. In return, I will aid you in what would most probably be, your escape.&quot; The blue light flickers for another moment, before the image of a creator child appears infront of Fenris, a boy if one could judge the hairless apes, it was made of bright blue translucent skin, and seemed only able to appear where the blue light projected it. &quot;Further degredation to the facility via lost ones cannot be allowed. In current state, should they evacuate to the outside, they will wreck havok upon local civilization, and should they remain here, further damage the systm beyond my capabilities to mitigate, until a [REDACTED] incident can occur. Neither situations must be allowed, and in current state, survivability of this station is beyond hope. As such, I need you to disable the station, and exterminate the local [LOST ONES] population, intruder 236.&quot;<br> <br>&quot;Call me Fenris,&quot; the liger says automatically, &quot;And I agree. They have no way to interact with the outside world.&quot; He ponders the image of the creator child. &quot;Why are you manifesting as a child?&quot; he asks, &quot;That seems unusual for a spirit of your, uh, type?&quot; The tiny feline takes a moment to look over the corpse of Mephisticious. &quot;And how did the fox wind up here?&quot; he asks.<br> <br>&quot;And what should I call you?&quot; he adds.<br> <br>&quot;I have this form, for reasons I cannot properly explain to you for many reasons Intruder Fenris. Mephisticious&#39; body is here, after he was captured, and brought here. In an attempt to parley with him, he refused, stating merely that &#39;My children will have utopia&#39;. As you are aware, this was not the case. As for my name?&quot; The spirit pauses, as if having to research through dozens of files, before finally speaking. &quot;... You may address this unit, as Tommy.&quot;<br> <br>&quot;Okay, Tommy,&quot; Fenris says with a shrug, &quot;Here I am. What do you need me to do?&quot; The little liger does nit really want to kill the Lost Ones here, but if they posed as great a danger as the amchine spirit suggested, how could he refuse? After all, who could guess how much of an influence this er STAY-SHUN had on the stability of Firebough? &quot;Say!&quot; he says after a moment, &quot;You didn&#39;t make the fire elemental that guarded the cave above us, did you?&quot;<br> <br>&quot;It was through my advisal it was created yes... But such is not pertinant now. Your tasking is simple.&quot; Tommy dissintigrates it feels like, before a large map of the facility appears before him, with a bold X right over their location. &quot;The Facility termination switch must be activated two rooms away from us. This will cause the facility to flood with the superheated magma you saw before, while locking down any exits. This result in the destruction of the station, and the lost ones. After you have pulled the lever, you will have minimal time to make it to the emergency egress, to track your way to the surface. I will be there to aid you along your way through the [SOUND] system.&quot;<br> <br>&quot;Alright,&quot; Fenris says grimly, &quot;If that is the only way.&quot; The tiny liger mounts up on his golem once more and starts in the indicated direction. &quot;Lead on, Tommy,&quot; he says.<br> <br>The lights turn for for a moment as Fenris gives consent, a door opposite where he had entered opening quickly as a local box speaks to him. &quot;Head through here, across the walkway, and into the next room. You shall need a way around the door, the Lost One&#39;s barricaded it years ago. I will trust your enginuity.&quot; Indeed, as he says, directly across the walkways is a single door... THough, the walkway itself seems in disprepair, and is teetering on the verge of falling below it seems.<br> <br>Fenris frowns at the walkway. &quot;Better take this fast,&quot; he says, getting his feet under him in case he needs to jump, &quot;Full speed, quicksilver!&quot; The golem takes off at a sprint. With some luck, maybe he would get out of here nearly as intact as when he came in.<br> <br>As they take off across the walkway, sure enough the sound of snapping can be heard as it begins to give way below them, but just as it all falls to the ground, his golem has it&#39;s front paws on the still remaining end, and the two are safely over! &quot;Apologies. I did not anticipate a damaged walk way.&quot; A local box chimes for the two the room they were in now almost pitch black, though infront of him he can see the door was removed, and what looks like almost a mountain of spiked metal was pointing in insitead, threatening to impale the careless.<br> <br>Fenris sighs, dismounting from his golem. &quot;Sorry, buddy,&quot; he says, deactivating the golem, &quot;Looks like I don&#39;t get to take you home after all.&quot; The tiny feline walks warily toward the door and begins the arduous process of picking his way through the mess of metal. &quot;Can you give me some light, Tommy?&quot; he calls out.<br> <br>&quot;I will attempt.&quot; The voice calls, as lights on the other side flicker on, the little liger able to pass through so long as he&#39;s careful... Though, once he was on the other side, he&#39;d find that the pile of sharpened metal, as precariously perched anyways! Why, with a good shove, he may be able to offset it to the side. &quot;There should be a door across from the one you have navigated through, this will take you to the spot to begin the process.&quot; And sure as is said, a flimsy looking door is all that stands between him and success, closed but ready to fall off it&#39;s hinges it feels.<br> <br>Fenris smiles at the flimsy barricade. He should have known. With a bit of mental effort, he reactivates Quicksilver. Once he has found a safe spot away from the spikes, he urges the metal contruct to force its way through. One solid shove ought to do it!<br> <br>One shove indeed! The pile left to go tumpling down as it emerges on the other side, the weight of the pile knocking the door from it&#39;s hinges too to reveal a musty room just beyond it, a small square with staffs sticking from it into the cieling present in the center, with a single blinking control pannel. &quot;You are where you need to be. I ask that you now uphold your end of the tasking, and I shall proceed to complete my own.&quot;<br> <br>&quot;Tommy,&quot; Fenris says, &quot;Three questions before I do this, since I don&#39;t think I will get to ask after.&quot; The little feline looks at the control panel. &quot;Why did you scan me?&quot; he asks, &quot;I just ask because the last time that happened, I was shrunk like this. Second, how many lives am I about to end?&quot; he hesitates before his final question. &quot;And am I about to kill you too?&quot; he asks.<br> <br>&quot;... Forty nine [LOST ONES], and you were scanned to verify genetic complience, as the [LOST ONES] are outside of such complience. Measures had to be taken to ensure you were not merely an abnormal of them.&quot; It seems to pause for a few moments at that final question before chimming once more. &quot;Under the definition of killing, no. I do not have the proper facilities to be able to be &#39;killed&#39;. This unit however, will be terminated with the destruction of the station when the magma levels rise to encompase my [BODY].&quot;<br> <br>&quot;And you are okay with that?&quot; Fenris asks, his hand moving toward the control panel, &quot;You are sure?&quot;<br> <br>&quot;If an option exsisted, I would have suggested it. As it stands, my duties to protocols, and to ensure minimal damage to [NATIVE] population, this course of action much be taken. As Mephisticious foolishly extended without regards to his future:&quot; Tommy&#39;s voice clicks out for a moment, before the sound of ragged breaths from an older man fills the speakers, his voice broken and hoarse. &quot;S-Sacrafice is expected, for peace...&quot; Before it clicks once more, and the speakers fall silent for single breath before tommy&#39;s voice comes back once more. &quot;Proceed Fenris.&quot;<br> <br>Fenris swallows hard, then nods. Deciding that he is as ready as he will ever be he follows the machine spirit&#39;s instructions, starting the process that will end fifty lives. &quot;Thank you, Tommy,&quot; he says, &quot;You are very brave. I will remember you.&quot; The little feline finishes the sequence, then waits for instructions.<br> <br>As Fenris activates the process, a low rumble fills the station as the boxes begin to blare loudly into his ears. &quot;Thank you Fenris. Set unto the pad here, and I will strike to bring you out of immediate danger.&quot; A single light shinning upon the pad with the staffs sticking into the cieling, as the tiles above it pull away to reveal a long passage up!<br> <br>Fenris scrambles atop his golem and urges it onto the indicated floor space. &quot;Thank you, Tommy,&quot; he says, rather sadly, &quot;Is there anything else I can do?&quot; He had never heard the dying wish of a machine spirit, after all.<br> <br>&quot;... Live.&quot; The speakers let out, before the platform begins to rise, a loud screech rising from them before dead silence as it seems the lava in his room had risen to take the Spirit with it. The pad moved considerably fast all things considered, bringing him up to a room of stone reminicent of the one from when they found the first room, a small path to light not but five feet infront of him.<br> <br>&quot;Go!&quot; Fenris shouts to his golem, though only his mental urging is actually necessary. No telling how fast that lava could catch up. A few wayward tears drip into Fenris&#39;s mane. The lost were always lost, he could almost reconcile himself to their deaths, but Tommy had been different. That was a loss to Promise, and to the little liger.<br> <br>Fenris is surprisingly right to move as swiftly as he did, a spout of magma shooting up the passage he had just been above, pooling for a moment a good few yards back as his golem breaks into daylight,  the two near the base of the mountain. It&#39;d be a long treck around, but no more dangerous that before, and all in all, surprisingly cooler.[[Category:RPLogs]]
