<div></div><br> <br>The marketplace is rather loud and noisy. Asides from the usual callers asking folks to sample their wares, there are also a number of guards standing around talking to a group of merchants, next to them a group of 5 rats. The guard in front is asking a lot of questions which make the ill kempt rats scratch their heads and shrug, occasionally one or two of them will make a rather crude joke or burst into laughter, bringing the others in on it. "Listen Johnny this all started when you got out, and here you are in the marketplace. You've all been loitering for quite a while. Are you expecting me to believe you have nothing to do with this?" the frontmost eagle guard says, to which he gets a "Tsch naw. You think Johnnys gonna come out and steal an apple and a flute? You must be off your rocker old man."<br> <br>Siyu is dressed in his finery setting himself up as a rich merchant, after all of course, he does a lot of business in the Market. He swishes his hips over to see exactly what is going on. He takes a deep breath and moves to the circle. A commotion in the market, when goods might be getting rare, can't be good for anyone's business, so he arrives upon the scene!<br> <br>Asher patters after Siyu, looking around the marketplace. It was a lot like the one back home, only bigger. He sees Siyu heading straight into what looks like an ugly situation in the making, shakes his head and hurries after, not wanting to get left behind in all the bustle.<br> <br>Selena makes her way along the market after finishing with a transaction of some sort with one of the stall owners. The gathering of guards and beings piques her interest, the wolfess moving along to the collection of beings and offering a wave over the crowd to the mouse and corgi. "About the recent thefts, I assume?" She asks one of the guards, then glancing back at the rodents. "And hello to you all."<br> <br>Not too far away from the 'action', a lion participates in an intense bout of business and haggling. Instead of sharp knives and heavy blunt weapon exchanges, words fly like dangerous arrows that may or may not be on fire. But after a merchant vendor hands over half a loaf of bread during a currency transfer, perhaps they were just having a normal conversation instead. Dio waves to the baker and immediately stuffs some of the bread within his muzzle, ears perking up as he hears a peculiar conversation concerning the recent word that's been going around. Curious as ever, the lion makes his way towards the guard and chomps violently on his bread, not saying anything quite yet.<br> <br>Kalt strolls through the marketplace while whistling idly, her armor clinking gently with each step as her right hand rests on her belt, with the left hand just swaying due to the buckler on it. Her ears flick as she hears the commotion, and the country vixen cannot in good concious keep her nose out of squabling... City folk could be amusing after all! She gives a slight wave to Siyu and Asher as she comes walking up. "Hello again Mister Siyu an' Asher sir! Awful lotta commotion hm?" She catches sight of Selena approaching the guards and falls into line behind the wolfess, dipping her head gently. "Ma'am." Her gaze turning then to the Rodents as she looked them over with curiousity.<br> <br>Fenris meanders around the corner with a steaming meat pastie in his hands. Taking a bite, the tiger takes a moment to savor the pork and apple flavors. He glances up at the sound of familiar voices and sees the gathering of guardsmen and freeswords. Not ready to get involved, but wanting to be ready should he be needed, the tiger finds a spot to sit and watch the procedings. And to eat his dinner. He catches sight of Dio approaching from another direction and raises his steaming pastie in a sort of salute.<br> <br>The guard shakes his head. "Let Johnny talk for himself. Johnny, you've tried to steal a rag before. Let's not get into what the item is, that's not a defense." The most well dressed of the rats shakes his head. "I was dirty, needed to clean off. But I told ya we aren't involved, we ain't done nothing but stand around and be harrassed by armored dolts like you." The guard takes a bit of offense to that but Johhny stands unwavering, adjusting his coat as he looks over to the approaching group. "Why don't you ask them, they look any less suspicious than us?" he adds as one of the rats squints at Selena. "Hey boss I think I seen that girl on the rooftop that one time, she a pyromaniac boss." A vendor waves to Dio in his passing, holding up a pie with a smile. The guards turn to the group and one of them sighs and asks "I don't suppose you know anything about the thefts do you?" just before someone can be heard screaming a distance down the market. "YOU THERE, THATS MINE!"<br> <br>Siyu hms a small bit, "So far I havn't noticed anything missing from my stall, what with the blocked I've been doing quite the inventory collection, so no not really." the short rodent offers and rests a hand upon his hip, "But really I thought everyone was coming together, rather then trying to break apart under this threat and..." and then there's a scream? His ears flick and he turns back to look over and see exactly who's yelling and about what?<br> <br>Asher is starting to feel a little nervous. He is just a little dog in a big new city! The tiny canine is happy to see Selena, in that, at least she seems familiar from the previous night. He tugs a little at Siyu's coat, "Maybe we ought to just let the guards handle. . ." Asher stiffens at the shout, but watches the three rats after the shout. Everyone else would be looking to the shout, but he was interested in the guards suspects. Hopefully, they wouldn't notice the attention of one little dog in a silly costume.<br> <br>Selena rubs her cheek for a moment, affording herself a chuckle as Dio's heated conversation reach her ears despite the conversation at hand. The lion's approach prompts a wave, smile and "Hello, Dio. Good to see you around." The comments about her prompts the wolfess to shake her head and chuckle. "The Pyromaniac's Bite, actually." She replies, before the shout down the street prompts a rapid departure; "Excuse me." being managed as she darts off - and perhaps proving at least one half of the rat's comments, using the rooftops for vantage.<br> <br>In return, Dio raises his half-loaf, now more of a quarter-loaf, towards Fenris and continues to observe the action. After being fingered as part of a group to make a point, the lion points to himself and looks around, appearing quite confused. So much stimulus... The pie wielding vendor catches his interest, sparking a fire or desire for such a tasty treat, but there were more important things on hand! Instead, he gives the vendor a smile and a wave before returning his attention. "Sorry lad," he responds, shaking his head and occasionally spilling bread crumbs. "'fraid I don't know much 'part from what I've been 'earin' 'round the streets. An' good to see ya too, lass!" 

However, there wasn't much time for pleasantries when the call of thievery has been rung! The lion reaches to his back and unstraps his buckler to wield upon his right arm before taking off towards the disturbance with a hit of air magic much like Selena.<br> <br>Kalt shakes her head as the guard turns to them. "No sir, ain't heard or done nuttin. Just wanderin my way over to the trainin grounds out by the solacious' when I heard folk all up in a rabble an' went to see what's what--" She blinks at the accusations from the rat at the entire group, but before she can reply she hears the scream from the distance. Her hand instinctively tightening over the hilt of her sword as she dashes after the lion and wolf, though not graced with magic nor wings as she's left to do it the good old fashion way.<br> <br>Fenris watches events with interest. He had no trouble making out the conversation from his casual hiding spot. Why on earth were the city guard so keen on the theft of an apple and a flute? He had heard about Johnny and his gang, but didn't understand what the guard was trying to prove here. When the cry of THIEF rings out through the marketplace, Fenris holds his position, watching Selena speed away and Dio and Kalt turning to dash after her. They could surely handle themselves. Fenris was more worried for little Siyu and his new little friend Asher.<br> <br>A few of the guard takes off after Selena and Dio, keeping pace with Kalt as they seek out the source of the yelling. The gang doesn't move an inch, Johnny leaning against a wall as he gives the two remaining guards a look. "So what's that you were sayin?" he asks rather smug. "I told yah, I didn't steal nothin. None of it." The remaining guard grumble a bit and the rats all laugh to themselves and give eachother elbows, talking about how their boss was always right. Selena and Dio make the scene first, meeting a laughing little dolphin girl, an older dolphin chasing her frantically. "Daddy's bald! Look at him look at him!" she says as a hairpiece flops about in her hand. "You know I wasn't born with any hair, give that back right now." the older dolphin says as he chases her.<br> <br>Siyu doesn't run, not really that dignified. He'll look over the rats though, curious as to their response, a gang and gang leader, just out of prison, all right. He flicks his ears a bit, "What was stolen exactly?" he asks one of the two guards, "I heard mention of an apple, and a flute, do you have a whole list?" thievery is not unexpected what with the blockade going down, it's why he's making sure he has his stock well secured.<br> <br>Asher watches the rats uneasily. Thugs were bad news, but gangs were dangerous. You never knew how many of them there really were. The little corgi gazes around, looking for quick avenues of escape, just in case, staying close to Siyu.<br> <br>Selena arrives on scene and shakes her head with perhaps a little derision - then just shaking her head when the guards arrive on scene as well. "Dio, I'm going to move back to the gang again and keep a watch until the guards sort this out. I'm more than a little annoyed they all left like that; never a good plan." She states, taking back off in the other direction.<br> <br>Landing at the scene, Dio relaxes his posture and gives off a sharp laugh. "Jus' a silly little scene. That'll work itself out." With some free time, he takes the remains of his bread and slams it into his mouth, swallowing it with a huge gulp. "Yer right lass," he agrees, rubbing his hands together to eliminate a few crumbs clinging onto his fur. "I think I'll go 'bout 'alf way between 'ere an' the gang while stayin' up 'ere on the roofs. Might find somethin' suspicious. If not, I'll just be headin' back fer a nice drink." Using some more air magic, Dio heads across the rooftops once more, heading towards the gang, but stopping short to get a better look over the general market area.<br> <br>Kalt takes a deep breath as she arrives, looking over what was what before covering her face with her hand. "Aaaaw shit..." Turning on her paw, she quickly dashes back in the direction of the gang and remaining guards. Trying her damndest to not fall out of pace, after all someone had to make it back and say it was a false report!<br> <br>Fenris prepares himself for a fight, lightly swapping his soul gems in a way that keeps his motion discreet. If the rats were going to make a move, it would be now, while they held the advantage of numbers. Little sparks of static leap from his fingertips as he readies himself for whatever move Johnny and his gang decide to make.<br> <br>The guard looks to Siyu for a second and then says "Well it's been a wide variety of things, clothes, food, tools... it's never just one type of thing. Someone reported a missing bag of sleeping powder." The guards groan, and the three of them return en route to the others, slightly behind Kalt as the urgency of the situation drops. Johnny pushes off the wall and stretches, casually momving towards the guards. "So we good here?" he asks, giving the guards a look.<br> <br>Siyu tilts his head a bit, considering. Johnny, just got out, and alreayd causing problems? A good narrative, but he twitches his ears somewhat. He won't stop the rodents, or ask any more questions, he's thinking about a few things now.<br> <br>Asher frowns. Something is going on here, though he couldn't say what. He doesn't much like being surrounded by the tall rodents and patters off a little way from the crowd, keeping the guards between himself and Johnny's gang.<br> <br>Selena tilts her head, listening in from her convenient perch on the top of that wall. "Unrelated items? Doesn't sound like there's nothing there. Food, clothes and tools can all be used to support an alibi, depending on what those tools are. Sleeping powder, though? I doubt that's a red herring." She calls down. "Makes it too easy to escape from a guard if they're dazed. Anything else you can think of? Inks, poisons..?"<br> <br>Dio looks into the marketplace and soon lets out a loud yawn. There doesn't seem to be much going on within the area, so he settles himself down and gets comfortable. A hand rises above his eyes as they scan about, occasionally flickering towards the guarded gang members. However, his eyes weren't the only things flickering. He couldn't help but wonder about just how tasty that pie could be. What if someone else bought it? What if someone might buy it soon? The temptation was nearly overwhelming, but the ever dutiful lion continues scanning the crowd for suspicious fellows!<br> <br>Kalt pants slightly as she makes it back to the scene breathing with huffs for a moment before she straightens her back. "False... Alarm. Just a lil'one messin with 'er folks an' such." She straightens her back then, having managed to catch her breath as she looks to the guards and the others to see what they wanted done next. She wasn't a guard but... Well, she's used to helping folk in need lets say. <br> <br>Fenris doesn't know what game Johnny is playing, but he does not like it much. Standing, he puts on his best friendly face and saunters up to where Asher is standing timidly. "Hi Asher!" he says warmly, "How have you been enjoying the city?" The tiger sets himself casually between the gang and the little dog and wishes that Siyu would step away from them as well.<br> <br>The guards stroll back over and one of them says "Johnny would you mind coming with us, the thefts have stopped since you've been stuck here with us. If nothing else help us place you somewhere specific during the thefts." One of the guards shows Siyu a list after he finally finishes digging it out. "You know Capt I think shes right." he says as he points upward. Johnny shakes his head. "Look I'm not going with you. You've got nothing on me, ahn I ain't done nothing wrong."<br> <br>Siyu gives a glance at the guard as he pulls out a sheet of the items stolen. Not a lot really, but it adds up. Hmmming and nodding doing the quick tallies in his head. Not a bad haul if a gang were working together. Idly curious where the gang hid before, and if they had to move, or where they are staying now...he's staying near the guard, for what it's worth.<br> <br>Asher gives a little start as Fenris walks up next to him. "Oh! Hello Mister Fenris. Um. You know," he stammers, "I don't think that Johnny did anything." The corgi looks thoughtful, "At least not this evening," he amends.<br> <br>Selena looks back over the crowd, calling down to Johnny and company. "Hey, Johnny, if you have nothing to hide then you're not going to be in for long." She replies, before turning back to the market - and promptly calling back down to the guards and group. "Wait - There's your thief. Stole a fish just then and they're moving." With that, the wolfess picks herself back up and moves along the rooftops again, following the figure's movements from above.<br> <br>Something smelt fishy! A school of evil! Dastardly deeds swimming about the currents of commerce. Dio observes a slippery theft within the market and looks over to Selena. It seemed like she noticed it too and probably reported it. Now the issue was in the guard's hands, but it would be interesting to see if the thief might have a hideout harboring other like-minded individuals. Or maybe he was just really hungry and poor? Eager to discover the mystery, the lion follows along the figure's path along the rooftops.<br> <br>Kalt looks about every which way with confusion as Selena calls out about the actual thief being on the move. Cursing again as she's left to run after Selena, while trying to keep track of where the roof-jumping wolf was going while dodging through a crowd. "Damnation's ain't there more then just a chick's shit worth of guards in this damn place!?" The vixen is less then pleased in the amount of chasing she's been having to do!<br> <br>Fenris raises an eyebrow at the corgi. "You that good at reading known felons?" he asks quietly, then looks up at Selena's call. "Huh," he says, glancing down at the miniature canine, "You a mind reader kid?" Then he steps up to the guards surrounding Johnny and his men. "Gentlemen," he smiles, "Private Fenris of the Lightbringers Unit. I understand your concerns, but it seems that our thief is not mister Johnny or his. . . compatriots." He catches Johnny's look and returns one of his own. "I'm sure that they will behave themselves in the market this evening," he says with a grin.<br> <br>As Selena calls out the figure, a heavy clan rhino slips and falls over, clocking his head against a stand he groans, looking a little stupored. The figure keeps moving, pushing through the crowd with grace. Three guards once again take off through the crowd, leaving two of them with Johnny and his gang who don't make a move. Johnny smirks at Siyu and says "Hey thanks there, see even this one knows I'm a good guy." The group around him agrees, although Fenris's remark is met with an uneasy gaze from most of them. The two remaining guards split, one of them going to the stand where a now angry walrus is calling out about his fish being stolen. Kalt has a difficult time catching up at first but the crowd clears a bit as they all stop to check on the Rhino. "He slipped on a fish!" and "Oh is he alright?" can be heard.<br> <br>Siyu gives a faint sniff, "Suppose I had better invest in some stronger padlocks...good day everyone, I'm going off to double check my inventory..." he bows his head and heads over towards his own storage area.<br> <br>Asher swallows hard at being noticed by the gangster. He does not like having their attention on him. As Siyu turns to leave, the little dog hurries after him. "Wait up mister Siyu!" he calls, pattering after on stumpy little legs.<br> <br>Selena keeps her eyes on the thief as they move through the crowd, the momentary distraction of the fish being discarded almost causing her to lose sight before she continues to move after the figure. "They're in a new cloak now." She announces, moving after the figure.<br> <br>A fine trick! And perhaps it would've worked, but Dio's motivation was simply too strong to be fooled now. The faster things get solved here, the faster he may receive some delicious pie. It's good to have priories in life. Still hovering about and following along, he notices Selena point out the criminal's trick and observes, waiting to see if the guards might close in and apprehend the day's villain.<br> <br>Kalt groans as she continues in the attempt to move her way through the crowd, trying to be as polite as possible... "'scuse me---comin through... Pardon, ma'am your rear-- thank you kindly... 'Scuse me..." To give her credit though, she was doing her damndest to get through the crowd and chase the thief. To be honest though, she was more left following the others...<br> <br>Fenris maintains his open, friendly demeanor as he watches the gangsters start on the way, making sure that none of them turn to follow Siyu and Asher. "A pleasure meeting you gentlemen," he says, "Sorry for the trouble." They were innocent until proven guilty. The tiger honestly believed in that little cliche. But he would keep an eye on them anyway. Just to be safe.<br> <br>The figure sharply turns around and tries to slip by the pursuers, the guards calling up to Selena for a color.<br> <br>Selena peers down at the crowd, pointing out the figure as it tries to slip past again. "Tan - making a sharp turn." She calls, waiting in place in case they try something else. "Remember they may have sleeping powder!"<br> <br>Johnny and his gang swagger off, making their way towards the city gate. The rhino spasms as he tries to push himself up, too large for his own good he can't seem to upright himself, and is getting help from the crowd.<br> <br>While the thief attempts to make his get away, Dio decides to he might try and impede the tan robbed individual with the power of... his body! However, landing in such a crowded area wouldn't be easy. The lion searches for a break in the crowd to settle down and eventually finds one ahead of the thief with some luck. "'old it right there, lad," he proclaims, holding out his shield.<br> <br>Kalt grunts as she finally manages to get slightly closer through the crowd, waving and pointing. "IF YA'LL WOULD BE EVER SO KIND AS TO MOVE A LIL', WE GOTTA THIEF TO BE TAKIN IN PLEASE!" Finally getting a slight bit of a break as she sees dio float down, causing her to bee line for him while reading her buckler.<br> <br>Fenris shakes his head as the gangsters turn a bend in their trek to the gates, then turns to see the rhino flailing in the street. "Whoah!" he cries, hurrying up and lifting the struggling heavy with a bit of air math and a quick heave. He pats the rhino on the shoulder and helps to dust him off. "You all right there, big guy?" he asks.<br> <br>The figure stops as they are confronted by two characters, their shields raised the figure has nowhere to go. A flash of their cloak and a powder is released, a poor turtle folk walking by gets a face full of it and sputters before their whole body is shoved towards Dio. "Catch." says a rather high pitched voice as the figure attempts to squeeze by the remaining Kalt. The Rhino folk rubs his head and groans. "Yeah I'm okay... what... oh yeah I'm okay." he says as he looks to Fenris. "Thank you kindly. We should do lunch sometime, I'm Triy."<br> <br>Selena tsks quietly, keeping her eyes on the figure and sighing quietly as one of the guards is given a faceful of the powder she'd forewarned about.<br> <br>Dio wasn't sure how effective his shield would be against sleeping powder, but it seems like he wouldn't have to find out just yet. As the poor unfortunate soul gets a fine face-full of it, the lion does indeed catch the turtle. "Yer gonna be alright, lad," he says, trying to drag him over to another being so they can take care of him. Hopefully someone else would be able to catch the thief in time.<br> <br>Kalt snarls as the thief tries to dash past her, finding it rather difficult as she throws her full body into them in them as she forces them to the ground with a flash of metal and a battle snarl. "COME 'ERE YOU SUMMABITCH!" She was far more focused on just capturing them right now then on most anything else.<br> <br>Fenris grins at the big rhino. "Sure think Triy!" he says, clapping him on the shoulder, "What did you have in mind?" Still a little worried, Fenris leads the big fellow to a place where he can sit down and recover from his tumble.<br> <br>The guards finally catch up to Kalt, Dio, and Selena and the group pins the cloaked figure before gently encouraging Kalt to get off of them. "We've go it from here, but thank you folks for helping. I don't suppose you'd mind coming with us and telling us what you saw, Ma'am, uh... Ma'am, and sir?" the eagle says, as a few items are taken off the figures person. "Some of these are on the list, but not all of them... we'll get the rest of them. "Where did you stash them?" The rhino and Fenris make their way down the paved road. "I know a place that grills fish up pretty nice, how about that pal?" he says with a smile as he rubs his head.<br> <br>Selena glances back over the guards, chuckling quietly. "Well, if you can get me a little space I'll get off of the roof. I don't want to risk undershooting or overshooting. Or, I would just jump back down an alley." She suggests, chuckling and looking back at the others. "There wasn't too much to say, though."<br> <br>After putting the turtle folk somewhere safe to recover, Dio pushes through the crowd and rejoins the scene. "Ooh, nice job lads," he says with a smile. "An' sure thing. Quicker we get everythin' done, the faster I can get a drink an' a fine pie that's been callin' my name."<br> <br>Kalt blinks as she's asked to join them, looking between the guards and the man. "I uh... Well I gotta meetin with a mister angus bout---" She sighs gently and nods, getting off the tackled figure as she nods. "Yes'sir. Just tell me whatcha needin from me, an' I'll be as right honest as I can be sir." Standing back so as to easily follow the guards when they were ready.<br> <br>Fenris grins again at Triy. "Sounds great to me big guy!" he says.<br> <br>The guards escort the group along, questioning Kalt along the way so she can make her meeting, one of the guards recognizing the name. The whole thing goes smoothly, and the expected outcome is return of all stolen merchandise. Fenris and Triy get along to eat, and everyone is rewarded for their input in this ordeal.[[Category:RPLogs]]
