A nervous looking basset hound wearing a guard uniform stands on the path toward Firebough beside a medium sized wagon loaded with a few standard food shipments. His eyes dart around as if he is expecting trouble, without knowing where it will come from. "Better get here soon," he mutters to himself.

Thelergramor heads up the path towards the nervous guard; head low, hat tilted to block any light that might get into his mask. Slow movement, hands in pockets. Body laguange suggests a probable hangover. The wolf has his full assortment of weapons and equipment, including his traps. Stepping up to the guard and speaking: "...You the one expecting freeswords?"

Angus hums to himself as he moves to where they are supposed to meet. The fox seemed to be in a good mood, a slight smile forming on his muzzle as his arms were drapped over the carbine resting on his shoulders as his Golem Mister followed close behind. He steps up beside Thele, looking between him and the Basset hound before he nods. "You called for our help then?"

Making his way down the mountain pass, comes Aiden. Forgoing his usual sweater and city clothing, instead of a thin leather jacket and a white shirt below it to join the large satchel on each side of him. A strange looking sword is strapped across his back, most likely taken in his own worry for self defense. A slight panting rising from him as he jogs his way up before waving to the group. "A-Ah... Hello. G-Got here as fast as I could." Dipping his head to them all, before pulling a canteen out to begin guzzling down that sweet, delicious, water.

Lucasiel had taken her steed for most of the trip to the group, but out of respect for those with more sensitive tastes, and for her reputation, the panther dismounts a fair distance away to cover the rest on foot. She arrives fairly quickly, regardless, the heavy axe propped up on her shoulder as she raises a pair of finger to her helmet in salute. "Good afternoon. I am here to help as I am able."

Rainer follows shortly behind Angus, with a stick. A stick with with he constantly pokes in the general direction of Mister Fox, though he always stops short of actually touching the mechanical contraption. When they come upon the gathering forming around the hound and his wagon o' goodies, though, he casts the withered branch away and straightens up, folding his arms behind his head and brandishes a toothy smile at all and sundry.

The basset hound clears his throat loudly, still obviously worried. "This everyone?" he asks, eyes flickering over the gathered freeswords doubtfully. "Listen," he says, "I don't want to stay out here any longer than I have to." He points to the wagon and team. "You are going to ride off in this thing down the trail toward Firebough," he explains, "Something has been attacking wagons traveling this way. Folks are saying it's some kind of dragon, but not one of the boneys out of the flats." He clears his throat and looks around warily. "I'd say just kill it when it finds you, if you can," he says gruffly, "But a bunch of the eggheads at the academy have offered good money if you bring it in alive." The hound looks over the other beings. "Any questions?" he asks.

Thelergramor shakes his head, grumbles something about it being too bright. It's cloudy...The wolf proceeds to get into the wagon, after looking to Angus, Aiden, Rainer and Lucasiel and mumbling: "...Hello." Yeah, doesn't sound happy.

Aiden tucks his tail slightly at that news, moving to follow with them into the wagon as he clears his throat. "Now now uhm... The Academy has it's reasons I'm certain. You uh, wouldn't happen to have more to the plan than this would you by chance?" His eyes darting amongst the group members, he was almost fully certain he'd not have to go -anywhere- near the trouble! Given their armor, and weapons... Yes, he should just be able to safely stand back and throw spells. This line of thought helping him to relax slightly.

Each time Rainer gets close to Mister with the stick the Golem stops, turning to glare at the Wolf before he continues to follow his master. Angus nods a bit as he chuckles. "A dragon you say? Well then that will make this intresting I guess." He states as he eyes Thele, before he turns to Rainer when he drops the stick. "....Just for that, Mister is sitting in your lap while we ride in the wagon."

Lucasiel glances over at Rainer and Mister with a little snort before nodding at Thel and Aiden. "Hello, you two. Yes, I'll help. Point me at it, and I'll see what I can do." She glances over towards the wagon before moving off in that direction, plate rattling as she goes to get herself situated.

"There are still dragons that aren't the pile-of-bones kind?" Rainer wonders aloud eyes cast to the sky, as if he expected that merely invoking them might cause them to all come flying in. "I mean, besides the people that are also dragons. Who could also be fond of attacking carts, I guess, but probably wouldn't be particularly interesting to the Academy folks." He hangs back, while everyone piles into the cart, fixing Angus with a playful smirk. "What if I decide to walk, eh? Didn't think of that, didja!" Jumpcut to a weary Rainer stumbling alongside the rolling wagon with the golem riding him piggyback. Maybe? We'll see how it goes.

"The thing has attacked every wagon that has passed this way carrying food or passengers," the canine says, "It will certainly find YOU. You take care of it and your pay will be waiting for you back at the gatehouse!" His duty done, the basset hound guardsman salutes the Freeswords, then hurries back down the path to Firmament.

The cart is a moderate, covered wagon, well made and not too uncomfortable for riders. So far, so good.

As the wagon of course would end up under way, the basset hound would indeed of been telling the truth, as before long a large, rugged draconic being, weilding rusted, jagged, vicious weapons would be seen as it at first had been aproaching quickly though its steps began to slow as it glares over each of the ones it can see, weapons shifting into a ready posture as he notices how many are armed it seems as he begins to hiss angrily with a growl deep in his chest.

Thelergramor leans back in the wagon, eyes shut behind his mask. "...Taking it alive?" Reaches up to rub at the plague mask, then checks his pocket for something. Takes out a small flask of liquid. Water, probably. Has the word 'water only' scratched on the side. Strange. Lifting his mask, the wolf drinks. Then, the growl is heard. Thel barely reacts, shifts slightly, grabbing his blunderbuss. Can't see whatever it was due to covered wagon.

Angus smirks at Rainer as he leans against the side of the Wagon. "Still want to poke Mister then hm?" He asks as he watches the Wolf, chewing on a piece of hardtack as he does. WHen he hears the growl his ears perk up, and he sits up straight to turn towards the growl to watch the dragon curiously. "Huh...." He states as he looks at their gear, tilting his head to the side.

Aiden damn near shrinks at the sounds of growling, his tail curling up some before he peeks out to see the Dragon. "... O-Oh dear... Uhm... Th-they aren't attacking, that's a good sign yes?" The sound of vain hopes falling thin as he watches between the group and the dragon, knowing damn well if the Dragon attack he couldn't get out fast enough.

Lucasiel glances over at the dragon from her spot in the wagon before heaving a gentle sigh. "And hopefully it won't. But if it does, we'll be ready. And maybe it'll even put up a challenge. It's been a long time since I've had a good fight." She hooks her arm leisurely around the haft of her axe and checks the straps of her kite shield.

Rainer mumbles something, but it comes out illegible to any of the ears present. He halts abruptly when the towering scalie comes into view, at first going for his weapons, until the golem begins to slip, threatening to drag him to the ground with it, and he has to correct his posture to prevent just that from happening. "Ughhhkkt, see? It's just some half-crazy bandit-hermit." He tilts his head to angle his gaze at the occupants of the wagon, a certain fox, imparticular. "-Now will you get this thing off of me-."

This is it! This must be the beast that has been attacking caravans and travelers! Strange that no one mentioned how Being-like it was. That thing couldn't actually BE a being, could it?

Ryusho hissing the large dragon-like ..potential being slowly begins to walk sideways as he begins to eye up and down each one, though sniffing the air, he knows what the caravan has is what he wants, even as he begins to adjust and shift his position slowly, even though as he begins to strafe around to the side he is slowly advancing, his weapons still held ready to strike even as those peircing eyes of his dart from side to side as he moves.

Thelergramor groans and drops back out of the wagon, looking to what was referred to as 'some half-crazy bandit hermit'. He switches the order of the dual soul pendant he has, wling his blunderbuss over his shoulder again. "...So are we killing it?" Question still hasn't been answered. He stares at the dragon from behind his mask, blank expression while his head continues to pound from his hangover.

Angus shakes his head. "No Thele we aren't killing it, put the gun down." He comments, turning to Rainer with a smirk. "Mister, come." He states as the little golem jumps off of Raines shoulders up into the cart. The fox then stands up, brushing off his pants as he crosses his arms. "Never thought I would see his ass again, and I would rather not see him getting shot before I knock some sense into his ass."

Aiden remains inside of the Wagon, not daring to venture out as he waves slightly to those exiting. "R-Right! Fighting would just be bad after all erm... We could talk, and maybe it'll listen? I'll just... Be here... If you n-need me that is."

Lucasiel heaves a gentle sigh and hops out of the cart, herself, taking axe and shield with her as she stands up right and rolls her shoulder. "Hail, there." She places the head of the axe on the ground and leans against the large weapon, eyeing the dragon up from behind her helmet. "What's with the hostile look there? Ought to settle down, before someone here ends up in a scuffle, hm?"

Rainer stumbles as the golem uses him as a launching post for its leap, nearly ending up face-first in the dirt for it, but he swings right back up with an arching of his back resulting in a rapid series of crackles and pops, ending with a sharp sideways twist of his head. "Ngghhyyyeeeeah!" The wolf snaps right back into combat-ready stance, fists balled and legs poised for the charge, a great, big grin on his face. "Ha! That felt -great-! I'm ready to take on an army of this bozo!"

Ryusho slowly he hisses as he suddenly shifts, as he begins to start to step to the side, suddenly shifting, his direction reversing as he begins to bolt towards the caravan, with a vicious look in his eyes, maw open slightly from the hissing as he advances, his peircing gaze and determined form already having decided what to do, he is going to get what he wants, even though it seems that those here, are not going to flee like others have in the past, meaning he has to fight for his survival rather then take what he wants easily.

Thelergramor looks to Angus. "Hmm...Alright. As you command, Angus." He doesn't move away from the wagon, wondering what the dragon wants. Decides it doesn't matter. No indication that he is doing anything even remotely resembling magic...Decides to try out a spell he learned...Tainted Vitality...If it works, will weaken the dragon. Probably.

Angus blinks a bit as the dragon starts charging, and he sighs as he stands up and crosses his arms. "What is the idiot doing." He murmurs as he hops down out of the cart. "Rainer, mind helping me with this?" He asks as he uncrosses his arms and gets into a fighting stance!

Aiden eeps as the Dragon begins to charge, the English Shepherd panicing as he begins trying to work over ways to hopefully dissuade them from smashing into his wagon! As he works then, he begins upon his spell, sending bits of dirt, sand, rocks, and even a few crystals into the air in a sandstorm like way. Focusing his efforts as he tries to keep it centered around the wagon, so as to not blind everyone!

Lucasiel doesn't act directly against the dragon yet, waving her hand through the air and conjuring up her water elemental. "Now, now. This isn't how civilized beings act, is it? I don't want to go and have to hurt anyone if I can avoid." She tightens her grip on her axe, though, suggesting that she will, if she must.

"We got a live one!" Rainer blurts out as the foul-scaled marauder beings his run, stepping to the fore. At Angus' behest he falls in alongside the todd, striking up a similar, near-identical pose to the fox's own and yet... there's just something ineffable about that wolf, looking at him one can never quite feel certain if he knows what he's doing or is just immitating what he's seen. "YOU KNOW THIS BOZO?" he barks over the commotion being raised by Aiden's growing storm.

Ryusho stumbles a bit as the dark magics strikes him with a slightly shocked face, what is this madness, he was feeling fine moments before, and yet suddenly dust and rocks, sand and shards get flung his way as he lowers his head, continuing to power forward as he can, the dust engulphing him as he looses track of his distance to the cart at first, slightly turning without noticing, but also stumbling once more, slowing his advance even as the shards bounce and strike the armor, some slightly knicking his hardeneds scales, though a few shards strike and dig into him into his scales though he for the moment shrugs it off as best he can, though as he gets oriented he has to determine closest target between him and the wagon, as his goal is the wagon itself, but anyone in his way is going to get struck in his advance....

Seeing the dragon weakened, but still charging, Thel steps up behind Angus and Rainer. Seeing a hit coming straight for Angus, the wolf tries to throw himself in front of the blow! Taking a hard hit from an axe, cutting straight through his coat and tearing into his arm. Such heroism! No words, suppressing a pained cry, the wolf clutches his arm, stares at the dragon.

Angus was prepared for the attack as he moves to step back, catching a few loose rocks under his foot that put him off balance as he stumbles. Then Thele takes the attack for him, causing him to blink a little in surprise at the situation as Mister goes on the attack, taking a running leap from the cart at Ryusho as Angus draws his Saber, swinging the blunt back end at the dragons head.

Aiden slows the sandstorm now that the Dragon was focusing on the others, after all he needed to be able to -see- to do anything to help them! Seeing Ryusho axing Thel, he can't help but grimace, but takes a deep breath from his spot in the wagon and stands up. Holding his right hand like he was about to throw a spear, air math begins to work to form a crude spear shape! "INCOMING!" Is yelled by the mage, before he throws the spell at the Dragon... Hopefully not hitting anyone close to the target.

Lucasiel leaves her axe blade in the ground, the large weapon standing up right as she slips a hand under her cloak. "Hey, big guy. If you want to go hitting people, why don't you come hit me?" The armoured juggernaut lashes out with the extra-long spine whip towards Ryusho, trying to catch him around the throat. Mostly intent on holding him at bay and keeping him from advancing away from her.

Rainer's eyes go wide as their assailant plows right through the crystal storm barrier and comes out swinging, nearly losing his nose as he bends backwards, feeling the tickle of one of those jagged blades against the whiskers upon the tip of his snout and the rush of air in the weapon's wake. A few more bobs and weaves get him away enough from the epicentre of action, circling 'round towards the back in search of an opening.

Ryusho growls loudly as Angus's saber digs into his side towards the back, as he rolls his shoulder and barrels into misters blow as he shrugs it off, though even as he does he gets smacked on the back with a whip, stumbling him as it tears scales from his hide drawing blood and smacked then by the spear as he stumbles to the side heavily, ROARING in fury as flames begin to rage from his maw as it strikes the ground, causing flame to engulph himself, though he seems to shrug it off, but also those near him

The manic dragon beast is down! But there is more than enough fight left in him. Something has to change soon, or this one won't be coming back to Firmament alive!

Thelergramor clutches at his ripped up arm, there's a reason he likes jagged weapons. They hurt. Bad. Then, the dragon drops under the combined assault of the freeswords. Thel smirks, completely ignores the fire that narrowly misses engulfing him. Fighting the urge to just...walk up and punch the dragon in the face, Thel decides to wait for him to extinguish before that. "Can anyone put him out?" He looks to the others, injured arm dripping blood to the ground.

Angus growls as the fires appear, hopping back. "Dammit Ryusho you overgrown lizard STOP!" He shouts as he watches Mister bounce off of Ryusho and flail a little bit in midair before righting himself before he hits the ground. "Stop and think for a bit!" He yells at the dragon as he points his Saber at him.

"C-Careful! We arnt supposed to kill him!" Aiden yelling from the waggon as he begins to move his hands once more, a nice bead of sweat coating his forehead as he's working through the exhaustions of not only a large area spell, but two specialized ones ontop of that. His spell attempting to snuff the flames on Ryusho, while coating him in stone and dirt to give him armor of a sort. Though he's not used to this spell, so hopefully he does it correctly, and doesn't mix it with the fire to give them some sort of super heated armor...

Lucasiel stands at the ready, reigning her whip back in as she waits to see what happens next. Her hand goes back to the large axe, ready if Ryusho happened to charge.

Rainer's ears and eyebrows quirk at the blurted name, and down his eyes go to stare at the crumpled, burning figure. His weight shifts and his fists lower just slow, giving away the laxing of his guard, while the fire is being put out, and once it's relatively safe to approach he steps in, hunching over planting palms on his knees and fixing the drake with a friendly grin. "Alright, big guy. Time to throw in the towel, eh?"

Ryusho Growling he lies there, before beginning to shift, forcing himself to his feet, he has survived out here for so long..>He's not going to fall from..s..some weak..THings that are trying to prevent him from getting his food, as the hunt has been horrible the past several montsh..so he takes his need...Even as he forces himself to his feet growling, panting, the dirt that had been covering him begins to solidify and coat over his scales and the armor he had been wearing....even though he did have to struggle somewhat onto his feet at first.

Thelergramor grumbles in displeasure. "Just give up already...we're supposed to take you alive, apparently. So, I'm going to have to ask you to lie down..." The walks over to the dragon apparently known as Ryusho. Reaches out to touch him, in an effort to drain him either unconscious or near consciousness.

Angus sighs a little as Ryusho gets back up, sheathing his saber to draw his carbine, holding it in a two handed grip at his hip as he cocks back the hammer. "Ryu, come on stop being an idiot." He states rather loudly. Mister shakes himself off, thankfully the golem hadn't been damage to much to impair his movment as the little fox trots, before sprinting around behind Ryu, his front half lowering to the gorund as he gets ready to pounce at Ryu again.

Aiden sighs as they seems to finally have it all under control, sitting on the floor of the wagon as he pulls out his canteen once more to begin drinking. More than confident the group can handle the dragon, after all, it's all of them between him and the dragon.

Lucasiel pulls her axe from the ground and grins under her helmet. Right, no fatal wounds! She charges forward, leaps into the air, and brings the flat of her heavy metal axe down towards Ryusho, hoping to just knock him out cold on the spot.

"C'mon, big guy, don't make this any harder on yourself...!" Rainer's expression contorts in dismay, backing off as the aggressive, overgrown lizard rises to his feet. He opts, in the end, to skitter out of the way, swinging around wide of the group and coming back between Ryusho and the wagon, swords drawn, poised to be the last line of defense between Aiden and this single-minded beast-being, if it comes to that.

Ryusho grunts loudly, head being knocked downwards though shockingly it seems the stone armor took th e whole blow, even as it shatters violently and falls from him as he is left standing there...giving how Lucasiel has ended up directly infront of him from how she landed....what would if looks could kill be one hell of a death glare, before he starts to try to shove his way forward, even though his sword is rammed straight towards Lucasiels gut as he tries to shove his way past, seemingly more intent on trying to reach the wagon rather then fighting to say the least..but more then willing to hurt those in his way.

Thelergramor is disappointed as his spell had no effect... "Screw it." The wolf steps in quickly, scowling up at the large dragon. The wolf jumps, throwing a punch straight for the throat...Assuming that the 5'8" tall wolf can reach it...

Angus rolls his eyes as Ryu just doesn't seem to want to go down, bringing his musket to his shoulder as he draws a bead on the Dragons leg, he will apologize later on. "dammit Ryu, you made me do this." He mutters as he squeezes the trigger, popping off his shot as Mister stays crouched, ready to pounce in case he is needed.

Aiden peeks up to see the comotion a -lot- closer to the wagon then before, causing him to blink as he assesses his options before Angus shoots. Finding none, he frowns and more or less hunkers down, tail tucked between his leg as he waits for it all to not kill him.

Lucasiel sneers a little as the thrusted sword scrapes off her armour. She follows up on the close proximity to bring up her shield, promptly trying to bash him square in the face. "You won't win today, friend."

Rainer angles his head for a peek back at the wagon, catching Aiden stealing a peak of his own at the action. "Hope you're cooking up something big, back there~" He flexes his wrists, his swords angling just so to catch the gleam of the evening sun until they angle back to their original position. "Y'know, just in case~"

Ryusho goes bug eyed when he suddenly gets a fist slammed into his -throat- as he gags and..coughs blood from the impact as he feels a sharp pain in his throat that causes him to whease, and the shot that strike and rip through his leg almost causing him to topple from the impact, the dragon shocked, no, he can't be about to die, he has to get out, He has to get away, he can't die after all of this..all that pain, that struggle, even though he then 'snaps' as he begins to go basically completely bezerk starting to take those weapons and begins attacking furriously, violently at Thelergramor, as his fight or flight response kicks in and he realises he has to get away...considering the one who just hit him has causes him a potential major injury that if he can't escape he may not be able to recover or survive, according to his mind as he viciously goes and whales on Thelergramor, the one he felt did the most damage..and the one that had the highest 'threat' in his mind from that, so far he even -rams- directly into him using his size and the sharpened armor to try to force and get away/past him, to escape and make sure it could not chase him down....beginning to stumble away, limping even as he coughs up more blood, wheesing from the difficulty of breathing as he tries to get away....... trying to keep his balance, but keep the weapons in a defensive position even if it's a struggle.....

All of that trauma is just too much for the dragon. After a vicious punch, a musket ball to the thigh and a shield bash to the face, he can take no more. The gigantic being gives all that he has in a last, desperate attack, slashing his rusted weapons across Thelergramor's chest, before swaying precariously and tumbling like a felled tree on top of the unfortunate wolf!

Ryusho blehunconcious

Thelergramor cries out in pain. Again, as the rusted weapons tear across his chest and the dragon falls atop the wolf. Trapped beneath the dragon...able to breathe, a little, which is fortunate for Ryusho. Can feel one of his ribs crack under the weight, but, fortunately that seems to be the extent of it. For now. Unable to call out for help, hopes they have someone who can help him nearby...

Angus blinks as Ryu finally falls, staring at him in the silence before he lowers his musket. "....Think he's finally done?" He asks as he takes a deep breath, putting a hand into his pocket as he walks over to poke Ryu with a toe as Mister walks back up to him and jumps up on his shoulders.

Aiden looks over the edge of the wagon with a wince, his body not moving as he looks between everyone and the crushed Thel. "I uhm... W-we should get him off of him... Before he dies... I think..."

Lucasiel leans against her axe and snorts. "Well that wasn't so tough. You alright down there, boy? Looked like a nasty hit you took." She brings a paw up to roll Ryusho off of Thel, offering a hand down to the wolf. "Come on, let's get back to town."

Rainer can but cringe away from the violence, bringing up an arm to shield his eyes and keeping it there until after the dust settles. "Crud." is all the verbosity the loup can muster once he dares to look and gets the full scope of the battle's outcome. Over, then, he comes darting, blades hastily stowed away, falling in next to Lucasiel to help move the weight off Theler.

Well, that could have gone worse. But the monster, or bandit, or whatever he is finally subdued! Now all that remains is the long trek back to Firmament where the beastial being can be restrained, everyone can get some well deserved rest, and Thelergramor can receive proper medical treatment. Again.
