A crowd is beginning to gather a distance from the river, up on a hill where they point towards a thrashing form on the rivers surface, a huge fin quite visible above the water. None of them step forward however when a call from the rivers edge is made, someone saying "Sssweeties if we all do this together we can get rid of it quickly." A lone serpent stands at the rivers edge, a large wavy sword on her back and a spear at her side, and a custom swim suit adorns her body. The crowd murmers and shakes their heads as they back away, one poor old turtle pointing to his bandaged leg. "It's a beast! Don't touch it, it took my good leg, look at the size of the bite!"

Arimia wanders forward out of the crowd, giving an amused look toward the turtle and says, "That's what frightened animals do. They lash out. It's probably out of it's usual territory, probably having been driven out by some beings nearby, or somethin'. So it's somewhere unknown, an' scared." She continues on her way toward the serpent, giving a brief smile before looking toward the water to try and spot this 'beast'.

Saibh is out and about and doing things. She's sporting her own bandages, but they're on her left arm. Nothing too bad though. Spotting a familiar face, she calls out, "lo!" keeping it simple and seemingly missing the gathered crowd. Stepping up, she then leans from foot to foot to watch the water and murmurs, "I don't know. Maybe it woke up early and it's a bit on the hungry side?" well she was paying attention at least. She quickly adds, "Wonder if we couldn't find a way to catch it and drag it up on land with bait or something..."

Bite frowns. "Sssweetie you may as well kill it if you want to drag it on land. It's too big to effectively move a long distance." she hisses and looks to Arimia and Saibh before moving back slightly as the thrashing gets closer to the shore they're standing on. In the river one can clearly see a large, sausage shaped creature, a sleek black and blue with spines all over it's form. It twists and writhes, kicking up mud and dirt from the bottom of the river. "I'm not really sure what's wrong with it sssweetie." she finally hisses.

Arimia gives a small frown and follows it with a shake of her head. She reaches up to remove her cloak and lightly folds it before setting it down on the ground. This would have the effect of leaving her tentacles on view for the crowd behind them. She glances at Saibh and flashes a smile before returning her attention back to the river and saying, "Let's find out. I'm bettin' it's from the ocean, though. Looks too big to me to belong in a river. If there ain't anything wrong with it we can herd it back that way. With you an' me in the water, an' Saibh here on shore to call out when it looks like it's goin' to change direction or somethin' we should be able to manage."

Saibh glances over and says dryly, "Why else would I suggest dragging a big critter up on land like that? Either y'find a way to boot it out and it goes on it's way, hopefully with eating one of us kept to a minimum, or we kill it. Unless you happen t'have another idea?" She glances to Arimia after that and adds, "For emphasis, I'd uh.. seriously, being eaten, bits or whole kept to a minimum. Definitely a preference" She rocks from foot to foot as she considers before she adds, "Where did it come from anyway? Or better yet, what is it exactly?"

The crowd murmers to themselves at the pink raccoon, a couple shouting insults as they let their prejudice get the better of them. The turtle cries "No, it's the actions of a wild beast, it clearly wants to devour us all!" as he shakes his bandaged stump. The serpent nods to Arimia and moves into the river, swimming out to the other side a quickly as possible and waiting for Arimia to act.

Arimia flashes a grin to Saibh and says, "I much prefer to do the eatin'." She then steps a short distance away and her form twists and reshapes itself, until it's that of an eight foot long, tentacled, serpentine dragon, rather than a raccoon. Still pink, though." She glances back at the crowd and gives a very sharp-toothed grin. "I'll be sure to remember the insults, next time one of you calls for aid from the Freeswords. I'll also be sure to remember you're all too cowardly to try an' help a frightened animal back to it's home, instead preferin' to jus' kill it." Not clarifying what the remembrance means she moves her large form into the water gracefully, looking toward Bite before swimming toward the large shape in the water.

Saibh glances over to the turtle and says dryly, "Pipe down stumpy, we're trying to figure out the best way to get it to go away." She looks a little annoyed for some reason. There's probably a few good reasons really. She offers a shrug and mutters to herself, "Killing, trapping, as long as I get paid and you don't get eaten right?" She then snaps her fingers and asks, "Hey wait, we're being paid right? Not sayin' I won't help, but... uh, well I'll help either way I guess"

THe creature seems to split in two as Arimia approaches it, blue and black coming apart and twisting in the water before they lunge at the raccoon dragon. Arimia scooches away from one of them, the other barrels into her and attaches it's large form by way of needle like teeth, that barely pierce the serpentine raccoon's natural armors. Meanwhile Bite manages to be true to her clan, speeding through the water towards the latched creature she gives it a jab with her pike, to which it begins to twist around in spirals.

Arimia bares her teeth as the beast latches onto her with sharp teeth, and abruptly moves one of her clawed hands in a quick, violent punch at the snout of the thing latched onto her. She then moves her hands and tentacles to wrap around it's jaws to try and pry them off her body.

Saibh is too busy watching the crowd to notice the critter splitting at first. Glancing back, she stumbles back for a moment and starts to reach for her bow and an arrow. Notching the shaft, she starts to pull the string back, then hesitates and keeps her eye on the other creature, not wanting to risk shooting Arimia with an arrow even if the little voice of logic tells her the bow's bad enough that it wouldn't do much to her. She does back away either way to find an opening as well as keeping an eye on the crowd after their reaction..

The crowd shouts loudly "It's attacking!", "He was right!", "KILL IT! KILL it!" as they approach the river, the creature slowly being worked free from a damaged Arimia, the twisting slowly rending flesh off of the dragon. Bite rushes over to her, calling upon her dedication with a paniced devotion. As her tentacles emerge she grabs hold of the creature and Arimia and works to aid the seperation, pulling her free and trying her best to work the larger being towards the shore before the two creatures retaliate.

Arimia being submerged and distracted by the bite, doesn't notice the crowd's antics. As the serpent starts working the larger being toward the shore she shakes her head and points down river, apparently unconcerned about the bite. After that she swings her tentacles at the beast in a rather hard slap to try and make sure she has it's attention, before pushing herself away to try and swim swiftly downstream, toward the ocean.

Saibh glances over to the two actively fighting the creature, then looks over to the people, then back at the two working on the creature. "Oi! I'm guessing you two don't want a crowd right?" she starts to run forward, moving to put herself between the crowd and the two uh, better suited combatants. She readies the arrow again, keeping it pointed down at the ground for now as she calls back, "You'll make things worse if you don't know what you're doing! Just wait" And then she lifts the bow just a bit, just in case

Saibh is confronted with an angry turtle and multiple folk who have pulled out an assortment of weaponry. "Six thousand crowns to the one who kills the beast!" the turtle cries out as the crowd slowly approaches Saibh, it looks like they have their work cut out for them keeping the crowd at bay. The black creature follows after Arimia but stops short and darts back to the other blue creature, the two quickly meshing together as the thrashing begins again. Bite stands on the shore giggling but watching both the crowd and the creature, she's not sure what to do. She attempts to speed up the current enough that it might distrupt the two creatures, encouraging them to head downstream.

Arimia resurfaces with a frustrated growl when the creature turns back to the blue creature. She glances over at the crowd and snarls, "If you try, I'll tear you apart and use you for bait!" She glances toward Bite and calls out, "I believe they're matin'. If we can get that smaller one to the sea, the larger will follow."

Bite bursts into profuse giggling and averts her eyes even though she really has no idea what's going on. "Okay sssweetie." she hisses and starts swapping out her soul gems, watchinig the two creatures as she does so. The crowd grows furious.

Arimia calls out to the crowd and yells out, "First one in the water or attackin' from shore... Bait. Just remember that!" She calls to the serpent, "I'll be the distraction. You work on gettin' the small one out." She ducks back under then and uses a bit of mathemagic to lauch heated pressure toward the beasts, in an attempt to get their attention.

The creatures stir under the heat, the writhing stopping as the larger one lunges out at Arimia again, jetting through the water. Bite gradually works the river into a stronger flow, the water becoming slightly more forceful as she finishes her swapping of soul gems. The crowd bickers amongst themselves on wither or not to take Arimia seriously.

Arimia doesn't fight the current as it grows stronger, letting it guide her, and hopefully the creatures, downstream. She even swims further downstream to keep ahead of the creatures. She keeps flinging the bits of water and heat out, but not aiming particularly carefully, just keeping the threatening presence directed toward the creatures.

Bite dives into the river and follows the moving creatures, continuing her work while she keeps afloat, the river speedinig up dramatically. The larger black creature has no trouble in the moving water, but can't seem to gain any ground on Arimia. The creatures are soon out of range of the crowd, that's one problem down at least, now there are two dangerous creatures flowing downstream towards firmament.

Arimia gives a grin underwater and dives down deeper, trying to guide the creatures deeper after her, trusting the river to be deep enough, even near Firmament, to avoid any problems.

The creatures do not do a good job of hiding their presence, spikes that resemblel fins parting the water. Bite does her best to continue speeeding it along then just goes along for the ride, hanging onto her gear and watching the creatures get more and more aggitated at Arimia as they move towards the ocean.

Arimia continues on her way, doing her best to keep ahead of the creatures while staying low in the water, trying to entice the things lower as well.

The two continue this effort for quite a while, slowly guiding the creatuers until they are out at sea, at which point they start trying to swiim back up stream. Bite does her best to make this impossible for them.

Arimia launches herself into the air once they reach the sea and lands on the shore, trusting Bite to do what she can to keep the creatures from swimming back upstream.

Eventually the creatures give up and return to the ocean, departing from eachother. Bite looks slightly sad but nods, knowing they'll be safe at least.
