A soft rumble, a small smile, and Flora rests herself in one of the many wooden benches spread out along the large outer yard around the mansion.

Her tails are swaying gently in the breeze, and she seems to be flipping through a few sketches of sorts, waiting for Sveta to arrive.

Sveta arrives from upstairs in response to Flora's summons, dressed in comfortable, casual clothes as opposed to her usual work outfit - that, she hasn't touched for more than a month. Seeing the tigress seated, she bows her head slightly and totters over - her limbs are far from regaining much of their old strength, even after so many weeks. "You called?"

A small smile, a flick of Flora's tails. "We are, right now, above the room we were planning for the furnace. "The ground is about the same thickness as this bench is long, at most, and the door is... Here," the she-cat notes, gesturing at the grass below her left foot, before looking up to Sveta, tails still swaying behind a s she mentally maps out the room, which, according to her estimations, would be about a meter underfoot.

Sveta nods. "I heard about some of the plans from Selena, and took the liberty of doing a little costing in bed with some help from Bob from Accounting. It should be...within our limits, given what the shop's earned in the last month. It'll stretch the budget, but we'll make it. Barely." The goshawk takes a few unsteady steps towards the spot Flora marked out. "I'll see if I can't get a discount from the folk I know at the craft school."

A small smile, a flick. "We have... Two options. One, we can put it in the room itself, like we planned before, yes... Two, we can set the forge up... There, and then erect a small building here that we use to bring sheets of metal down into the workshop, so beings can pick up the materials there, yes..."

Sveta sighs a little, then moves in to sit down beside the spot where Flora was sitting recently. "I...think so. removing it as far as possible from the main workshop would be safer, and if there isn't too much of a travel time from the furnace to the production floor, the distance isn't really going to matter that much. I'd go for the second option myself, but both options are within budget." She considers matters a little longer. "When do you want to start getting things put in, by the by?"

"Friend Selena is finishing up the designs. Flora visited her this morning, yes. She looked... Tired. And the door was open, yes... Not good. But the designs appear to be solid, yes," she mumbles, tails still swaying in the wind behind her.

As far as the designs go, Flora had an... Odd idea. We need thin sheets of metal, yes? And we need to bond them together..."

Sveta listens in with concern at the mention of Selena's condition, but the track of her thoughts changes at Flora's words. When the boss-lady has an idea, especially when said boss-lady is Flora, you listen. "Do tell," she says, looking at Flora expectantly.

"Well, if the sheets are still hot, they will bond better, yes? We know this from the way smiths weld two pieces of iron together, or a piece of iron to a piece of steel. There's also, of course, the option of brazing, or soldering, yes? Each of those require heat, yes? The last one is riveting, which would not be too practical for our purposes," she continues on, tails swaying behind her.

"What if we could make the forge itself weld, braze, or solder the plates together?"

Sveta raises an eyebrow. "Minimising any time the metal has to cool would definitely improve the joining process, and performing it in one motion so that there's virtually no opportunity for it to cool...it'll be interesting to see what kind of mechanism you have in mind for this. Flora. That, and it does sound a tad dangerous, but we shouldn't be any stranger to that by now."

Flora nods and flicks her ears. "Flora is... Not quite sure. Flora was thinking of pressing the sheets together, somehow, to force them to weld to one-another... But... Flora is not sure how," she mumbles after a moment of contemplation, before flicking her ears lightly.

"Flora will keep the idea in mind, for later... And we will leave enough room for expansion between forge and factory-floor, yes. So that if what we need is big, we can put it there, yes yes."

"Well! It certainly seems like I have a lot of catching up to do, after being so sick of late," Sveta replies with a shake of her head. "In any case, a properly installed furnace will help ensure the high quality of our goods...I think I can pull some strings and pop over to Selena's on the way to the Craft School. I definitely need to get out more. Do let me know if you do develop that idea you had further, though."

A nod, a small smile, and Flora flicks her tails one more time, before standing up. "Flora has some more business to tend to, so unless Friend Sveta has something else?" she asks after a moment of consideration, and, presuming that Sveta does not have anything, wanders off, back towards the mansion.

Sveta points at update.
